UPDATE for 2024 - You can get some of these for free, so you don't need to spend anything! 3:00 Krait Obelisk Shard: can be obtained by completing The Nightmare Unveiled Mastery achievement. 3:27 Gift of Quartz: can be obtained by completing the Bazaar Ambassador achievement during the Festival of the Four Winds event. 3:47 Gift of Candy Corn: can instead be bought with 5 Candy Corn Cob in the same Vendor in Lion's Arch shown in the video. Gift of Greater Candy Corn: can also be bought in that same Vendor, so you don't need to wait for the Halloween event! 4:15 Gift of Sprockets: can be obtained by completing The Origins of Madness Completionist achievement. 8:36 Hatched Chili Pepper Home Instance Node: can be obtained from certain chests and events. Check the Wiki to see them all. Hope this helps!
For the Wintersday gift you get from the tree, you *can* sell it for a few silver a day, but I would actually recommend having a small stockpile of them to use as tips if other players help you out in some way and you don't have much gold on your person. It's always really sweet to get an unexpected present, no matter what's inside! ^^
Great video, keep up the awesome content! This video caused me to get the Aurillium Node shortly after watching it, and then boom I couldn't stop myself from getting more nodes after that. Nodes, nodes, nodes... I can't stop getting more nodes to share with others. It feels so good to be able to bring someone into your home instance who doesn't know much about nodes and seeing their shock or excitement at what you have that they can just get for free. :D
I know this is late, but one thing to note regarding the LWS3 nodes: The Orrian pearl one is by far the one with the highest return, because it is guaranteed to always drop 9 Orrian Pearls. It is the only node with a fixed amount (as far as I'm aware) and drops more than all the other nodes if you average it out (maybe even on every single drop, I'm not sure). That makes it the one you should probably start with from the LWS3 nodes. Regarding LWS4 nodes, the Brandstone node is probably the one that pays for itself the fastest, due to it dropping additional powdered rose quartz. This makes it so you can craft Kralkatite Ingots decently quickly which can be used for some expensive things. (The powdered rose quartz is already worth its fair share on the TP)
Was gonna skip the part where you show the location of each home instance but ended up watching it 3 times. Kitties! That was sooo adorable! Never paid any attention to my home but that might change soon. I am learning so much with your guides and you always manage to make me smile. Thank you so much!
Thanks to you and Ayin (for "no masks behind" guide) got my Aurilleum Node and Exalted Chest in my home instance (also playing as asura). I am on my way and, for that, I thank you :)
I've been playing for more that a year now and I didn't care about the home instance.. didn't know what to do .. why should I care about it ... I didn't even try to know ... Thanks for this video ... Its time to dust off that home instance.
Although not directly a home instance node having a set of unbound magic gathering tools saves you a few silver from not buying tools but also gives you a bonus of extra magic from every use. Plus it will fully empty a guild hall 3 gather plant node in one hit. Well worth having. I got the sprocket ones early, made over 15 gold from each stack of sprockets early on producing sigils. It made far more than paid for buying, much less profit now though.
So good guide! I just found out about the home instances like yesterday. Now I really need to get into how they work so I can get more. Got to purchase all living world seasons. I started playing gw2 in October 2019.
Nice guide! Something that makes it easier to remember, and more convenient is the home portal stone. It allows you to go back to the previous location, and cuts down on loading time. We might see it on wintersday sales soon?
Just a one tip for BLC nodes. If you plan to buy them off TP, check preview of current BLC to see which one may drop. Those would be the cheapest now, because players will be dropping them and selling until BLC rotates out. If you're not in a rush, this way you'll save hundred of gold
Needed to watch this video again as a review. There are so many elements in GW2 to track, these kind of videos are really helpful to have them organized for easy reference.
I've been playing guild wars 2 off and on since 2015 and I just now found out this exists. Now I'm going to change my current main to one of my toons who's race is my favorite looking home instance lol.
For the Garden Plot, the best seeds to plant are the Varietal ones. They can be bought from the TP for 15-20s each, and the spices usually sell for 30s+.
For the sprockets, there are three rune recipes sold by the pact merchants that use them. I have one for runes of torment and it sells for a tidy profit!
3:04 update for 2022+ players: you can get the obelisk by doing the meta achievement related to the episode of Season 1 Tower of Nightmares. The method shown here still works tho

Your home instance is account wide. So yes, any of your characters can access it. However, it is worth noting that the harvestable nodes are once per day per account. So you would usually make one trip through your home instance per day on just one toon.
So, the housing is not like in Wildstar that you can buy land floating in the ether and place down items as you see fit to build the thing you want and you can gather and hunt items for housing by either crafting, buying or hunting? Or how Path of Exile does the housing, similar to Wildstar but more limited. I LOVED how Wildstar allowed you to make jumping puzzles and you could visit peoples homes and were they also rated? that was amazing

Started working on it given my Untamed ranger main has Pharus, Aurenes Weight, Ad Inf, Conflux, Aurora and Vision and Seasons of Dragons necklace so started nodes just for something to work on lol. I even got the big candy corn for my candycorn gobbler.
You can get unbound or volatile magic gathering tools for karma at some heart vendors. That's gonna push your magic - and as soon you get the first one, it's slowly gonna stock up anyway over time :) Or you could consume LV3 currency for unbound magic and LV4 currency for volatile magic (you gonna need the currencies for legendary accessories and skyscale, but if you buy the nodes, eventually you gonna get the currencies back anyway) Edit: I should have read - you already got Aurora and Vision xD
Exalted chest seems to give the best option for the free key if you don't have a key as it seems to give a rare every day. At least mine does. Remember, if you have two accounts on EU or US servers you can farm one account's nodes on the other account.

Missing the dragon pinata from the current Dragon Bash event :) I didn't get the LWS3 and 4 nodes because i though I needed unbound or volatile magic for aurora or vision. But turns out, i don't need them!
I've recently been interested in this (node gathering in home instance) and was wondering if it was a good investment to buy the nodes available through the Festival of the Four Winds vendors for festival currency. It seems like a good deal to me since they are not very costly and the currency is not costing me anything extra to obtain.
so all materials you get you sell? I have a full material storage with 2k items, but I always think "maybe I need in future". What do you recomend? I'm asking that because, the only thing I want/need in trading post is all the Permanent Contract. The rest, I do not want at all.
It's all dandy but how did you manage to play for a "very long time" without "discovering" the home instance? Did you not play PvE? A lot happens in there during the personal story.
As of 2022 festival of the four winds... I was able to get (for 0 gold) the sprocket generator, quarts node, airship parts node, and krait Obelisk shard[ hero challenge].
Is the Garden Plot from Gourmet Training account bound? I have cooking on my sylvari, but I main human and my plan is to always use the human character. :)
Of the seeds I have currently unlocked, Cassava is worth the most each for low effort gardening. You can also do ascended gardening with the plots you gained from gourmet training but that is a lot more work (you have to replant each day) but can be profitable.
I've never felt like the LW home instance nodes are worth the 50 gold to get them. Currently, there's 13 (not counting the Hatched Chili Pepper node). That's 650 gold. Unless you get lucky on getting Salvaged Excellence (which still requires harvesting enough currency to get an ascended amulet), that's going to take a loooooong time of daily harvesting to ever even recomp what you spent to get them in the first place. If you have plenty of gold already and are a completionist, by all means, go for it. If you're looking for something profitable, you're better off looking elsewhere.
I can definately see both sides of this! Cons: high initial gold cost, can take the longest of any nodes to pay for themselves Pros: during the obscure times when you need a mountain of specific zone currencies (like making the legendaries aurora or vision, or when you are buying ascended gear for alts) you often have those currencies just lying around, and you didn't have to go farm them cause they just build up each day. I recently made aurora and I had to gather 250 zone currency for each of the 6 living world season 3 zones. And I just ... had it. Without trying or realizing, I was already done, because of the home instance.
MuklukRUclips Yea, I can definitely see it being useful for things like that, although I still don’t feel like the overall cost is worth it. Do you know if the home instance nodes yield more than a regular node that you would find on their respective maps? Or could you theoretically get just as many rewards by going to each map and hitting one node? (While not as convenient as having them in one place, still not that bad if you have the LW portal tomes)
@@silverIining The one that gives orrian pearls gives 9 pearls per day (for some reason) the others give 3 of their respective currencies per day, plus the magic.
@@MuklukRUclips I started late and came from nothing when I made vision and aurora and the skyscale. Even without a home instance it was quite fast to gather the currencies. You have to play those zones anyway. And that was pre season 5. now you can just get flooded with ice shards and convert them into any currency you need. You don't need a home instance. The only time it was profitable and or convenient, was when you got those nodes as soon as they came out. Then you might have gotten value off of them. But getting everything now, years later, seems like a waste of gold and um/vm.
@@mauboy1983 Definitly not a waste of unbound and volatile magic as you gonna get it back ^^ It's gonna take a long time though to get the gold back, that's true - but eventually you can make it :D
I usually use the materials myself instead of selling them so I don't have a firm number, but I'd GUESStimate a 3-5 gold per day (using the charged quartz to craft/sell something alone is worth a couple) with an occasional spike when you get a savaged excellence (the 400+ gold item)
I have a question about treasure hunter achievement. When I give up gold from some item due to achievement there s no possibility to drop this item one more time and sell it?
There was a missunderstanding I believe. The droprate of the item shouldn't be influenced when you got one earlier and accountbound it. So in theory it should be possible to drop these items multiple times (if only the droprate weren't so low xD)
What is the approximate return on investment on these nodes? They look very interesting, but they take a pretty decent investment and only give back a little each day.
Almost every home instance node costs far more than you could ever make from it. The only reason to build your own up is if you plan to share it with guildies so that the overall benefit is greater than the cost. If you're not doing it as some kind of major project though, you'd be a fool to build up your own instead of just joining a group in someone else's fully stocked instance, which you can do easily every day.
Dhruvv Mistry if you join a party with someone and they go into their home instance, you’ll be allowed to go into it as well. They can then go into yours if you travel there. So it’s a way to harvest other people’s home nodes
Nice one! I'm just sad because you didn't talked about the spedition. (Shitty english : Lions arch deliver a mail with an item to open -> You can choose what's inside of this mail). But forever, Asura
Great guide...I might try to get all the ones that are gettable with in-game currencies. I will not be getting the 'Home Instance Node' from the gem shop as they are a total rip off.
you know you can be 1 race and still walk into another races home instance for example, if i where human i could walk into the asurans home instance and all my stuff still be there.
Yep! That's why I mentioned to use the home instance for whichever race has the daily each day, such as "maguuma forester" in rata sum or "ascalonian miner" in black citadel.
This is what I do, I main a salad but use Rata Sum for my home instance since it's one of the easier layouts. Holbrack being the other. The rest you have things so spread out and tucked in places it seems.
I bought for laurels, and the event is going on. So unfortunate. I was excited and didn't hear you mention that you can buy it from festival tokens. It's to late now thanks for the video regardless.
10.000 unbound magic? I got several hundred thousands :D *checks wallet* or 354... Edit: I highly recommend farming Fresh Winterberries in Bitterfrost Frontier, then consuming it for unbound magic. One run = 50 berries = 8-1200 magic per character
Whats the point of the home nodes? Can't you just gather everything you get there out in the world and in greater numbers? It's just one node, isn't it?
I guess the point is they are all packed together in one spot. Imagine 1 of every node in the game all side by side, you spend a few minutes each day walking down the line harvesting all of them, and then you've made about 11 gold in materials from all the stuff. Plus you constantly have some of every resource in stock in your material storage.
This is incredible. Why doesn't the game tell you about it or put it on your daily list or something. I didn't even know these instances exist. Can you choose which one you want or do you have to go with the one associated with your race?
They are all connected and share cooldowns. So if you get a copper node and mine it in the human home, you can go to the asura home and see the node there also, but already mined. You can choose which one you like to use daily.
@@MuklukRUclips Thank you! I started visiting the areas and saw that you could go into each. I'm a returning player. Bought the CE when the game first came out, loved the game (even did some beta videos for youtube), and the guild for some reason or another didn't stay in GW2 after we all got leveled up. The guild broke up and I went with another guild, they left, had another falling out and I kinda had it with MMO drama and quit until now. Now I just play by myself and do LFG pugs. Still never got to do the Khaitan fight and was always kinda miffed about it. I heard so many good things about it but I refused to spoil it and watch a video. Finally downloaded it again after watching Summit play it and fail pretty badly. It's been over 5 years since I stopped playing it and I had no idea the amount of content in this game, its staggering and I still haven't purchased the expansions yet but will soon. I've been watching your videos to catch up. They have been a god send. The humor is great but the info is priceless, thank you for the hard work. I think the game has TOO much going on (if that is possible in an MMO) and they need to have a "here's what you missed" tab, placed near your hotbar that flashes for new players that can be removed after you click on it. Did a world boss run the other day. Some of those world bosses I haven't even seen yet like Jormung. Was getting achieves and chests left and right. Still nothing compares to that Khaitan fight. That was just incredible and I was able to do it solo. Also lions arch rework, like wow.
It can take a while yes, but it also has some major conveniences. For example when I was working on aurora I got to a point where I had to gather 250 of 6 different currencies from living world season 3. I was already done without even trying because of home instance nodes feeding me some every day. But you can always borrow someone elses home if you don't want to build up your own!
do not get any that cost gold u will nether get it back. the HoT and event nodes are fine but dont get the 50G 1 from every map or any from the gem store
If farming once per day they take quite a while to pay for themselves, but then it becomes profit every day. If you let other people into your home instance, they pay for themselves up to 5 times faster with a full group. I also let my alt account into my home instance each day to get double of everything. I think of them like investments.
Someone calculated the costs and wins, you need like 3 years daily farming to obtain the costs and finaly make profit if you buy everything for your instance.
@@Jirimli Yeah, as mentioned at 0:30 some nodes are not profitable at all. On the flip side if you get lucky salvaging an ascended amulet and get 500gold the instance pays itself off hella fast.
The nodes you buy on LW maps are the most profitable ones, in my opinion, because they give account bound map currencies without much effort. The rest though... only if you harvest them daily and/or over a long period of time, as said above.
That's... a lot of stuff you can put in your home instance. Also, (in holy Greta's voice) how dare you call these tiny rats best race in game! A question: these nodes once per account or each toon can feast on these corn candies?
Once per account per day per node. If you own multiple accounts you can use them to harvest your home instance again and mail the stuff over if you wish to do that.

Are you talking about the quartz nodes? Or which ones were available at the Festival of the For Winds?
so all materials you get you sell? I have a full material storage with 2k items, but I always think "maybe I need in future". What do you recomend?
I'm asking that because, the only thing I want/need in trading post is all the Permanent Contract. The rest, I do not want at all.
Usually if any material reaches 2k I sell 500 of it, keep the rest "in case I need it"
It's all dandy but how did you manage to play for a "very long time" without "discovering" the home instance? Did you not play PvE? A lot happens in there during the personal story.
Theres a lot of instances you go into during the personal story, I probably assumed that was just another such instance.
Is it posable to put a Trade post in your home instance, and are home instance upgrades account wide, on all toons?
1) No, but there is one that fits in your inventory in the game, very expensive/rare item
2) account wide, all toons
quality content i like your videos
As of 2022 festival of the four winds... I was able to get (for 0 gold) the sprocket generator, quarts node, airship parts node, and krait Obelisk shard[ hero challenge].
Airship parts node?
@@DreiSchwerterZorro that too
That robot at the end looks like...MOK, was it? From GW1.
Mox, and yep from gw1. He can be invited to join your home. He chills out and takes care of the cats.
That was awesome thank you!
Is the Garden Plot from Gourmet Training account bound? I have cooking on my sylvari, but I main human and my plan is to always use the human character. :)
If you unlock it it will show up in your home instance in ever city for your account.
im curiou muk roughly how long does it take for one of those nodes to make its cost back? i feel like its a good 5+ years for some nodes
How are you getting the volatile magic from harvesting and mining etc? Seems like you're getting alot of items, including items I haven't seen yet
Volatile magic gathering tools. They gather volatile magic every time you harvest something.
What would be the most recommended thing to plant if profit is #1 goal.
Cons: high initial gold cost, can take the longest of any nodes to pay for themselves
Pros: during the obscure times when you need a mountain of specific zone currencies (like making the legendaries aurora or vision, or when you are buying ascended gear for alts) you often have those currencies just lying around, and you didn't have to go farm them cause they just build up each day.
@@mauboy1983 Definitly not a waste of unbound and volatile magic as you gonna get it back ^^ It's gonna take a long time though to get the gold back, that's true - but eventually you can make it :D
hi how much it possible to plante node in home what is the max ?
Can you put a gold amount per day or week you can obtain by having all of these items in your home?
I usually use the materials myself instead of selling them so I don't have a firm number, but I'd GUESStimate a 3-5 gold per day (using the charged quartz to craft/sell something alone is worth a couple) with an occasional spike when you get a savaged excellence (the 400+ gold item)
If you use the charged crystal to create skyscale food you can sell it for 5 gold per day :)
Are all nodes account bound? So, if I purchase one node with my human, any Charr I use to enter his/her home instance will have the nodes there?
Yep, all account bound.
MuklukRUclips thanks!
Do all of these nodes apply to the character you play with when you buy/get them or account wide?
Your whole account.
where is cooking station in rata home?
I love Salad!
What would I do without ur guidance muk.. idk but thanks for all ur hard work lol.
I have a question about treasure hunter achievement. When I give up gold from some item due to achievement there s no possibility to drop this item one more time and sell it?
correct, you cannot put an item that you account bound for an achievement onto the trading post. You could only vender sell it for a few coins.
I was gonna ask about this after seeing the last vid xdxd
Almost every home instance node costs far more than you could ever make from it. The only reason to build your own up is if you plan to share it with guildies so that the overall benefit is greater than the cost. If you're not doing it as some kind of major project though, you'd be a fool to build up your own instead of just joining a group in someone else's fully stocked instance, which you can do easily every day.
How can i access someone fully stocked home instance in a guild i am a noob so I don't know
Dhruvv Mistry if you join a party with someone and they go into their home instance, you’ll be allowed to go into it as well. They can then go into yours if you travel there. So it’s a way to harvest other people’s home nodes
Just got my first node the dragon piñata
Very helpful, thank you 🤭
250 Sprockets make a Rune of Tormenting, which are worth over 10g :)
All of the runes and sigils that use watchwork sprockets are all above 10 gold a pop
You can convert gold to gems, i just bought lw season 2 and 3 with gold by converting gold to gems
you know you can be 1 race and still walk into another races home instance for example, if i where human i could walk into the asurans home instance and all my stuff still be there.
Yep! That's why I mentioned to use the home instance for whichever race has the daily each day, such as "maguuma forester" in rata sum or "ascalonian miner" in black citadel.
@@MuklukRUclips ahh okay, i do remember you saying that ^_^ ignore my comment LOL
This is what I do, I main a salad but use Rata Sum for my home instance since it's one of the easier layouts. Holbrack being the other. The rest you have things so spread out and tucked in places it seems.
Do you unlock those nodes for your whole account or just for one character?
Whole account, you can farm them once per day per account but on any character you choose.
@@MuklukRUclips Thanks for that quick answer, appreciate it :)
What amazes me sometimes - is that someone thought all this stuff up - and programmed it into the game ...
.
how do you actually start the home node though??? i go into mine and there is nothing there, how do i get stuff there?
lol, i have watched this vid 3 times already and now I am hearing how to do it, must be dumb
Kitties and salad.. lol This is why even as an experienced player I still watch muk videos targeted at newer players.
Are these nodes only available if you own the expansions :/?
Some are expansions, some are core
I bought for laurels, and the event is going on. So unfortunate. I was excited and didn't hear you mention that you can buy it from festival tokens. It's to late now thanks for the video regardless.
Are home instance upgrades accouint-wide?
Yep, they are. Any of your toons, in any capital city, can access your "home".
10.000 unbound magic? I got several hundred thousands :D
*checks wallet*
or 354...
So much information in one videoo... Aaaahhh I dont know so many of these items lol
Is it really worth upgrading your home instance? Wouldn't it take ages to pay off all that money, time and ressources you need to put into it?
It can take a while yes, but it also has some major conveniences. For example when I was working on aurora I got to a point where I had to gather 250 of 6 different currencies from living world season 3. I was already done without even trying because of home instance nodes feeding me some every day. But you can always borrow someone elses home if you don't want to build up your own!
@@MuklukRUclips hm okay, yeah it kinda makes sense
Maybe i will put that effort into it one day but for now i will keep borrowing from someone else :D
Here I am after finally being able to make ascended food
Thanks!
I had no idea the krait obelisk could do that, I only used it once for the hero point :/
Thank you so much!!
do not get any that cost gold u will nether get it back. the HoT and event nodes are fine but dont get the 50G 1 from every map or any from the gem store
are the nodes actually profitable than the cost to obtain them?
If farming once per day they take quite a while to pay for themselves, but then it becomes profit every day. If you let other people into your home instance, they pay for themselves up to 5 times faster with a full group. I also let my alt account into my home instance each day to get double of everything. I think of them like investments.
@@MuklukRUclips Thanks, I guess at least they are something to work towards
Someone calculated the costs and wins, you need like 3 years daily farming to obtain the costs and finaly make profit if you buy everything for your instance.
@@Jirimli Yeah, as mentioned at 0:30 some nodes are not profitable at all. On the flip side if you get lucky salvaging an ascended amulet and get 500gold the instance pays itself off hella fast.
The nodes you buy on LW maps are the most profitable ones, in my opinion, because they give account bound map currencies without much effort. The rest though... only if you harvest them daily and/or over a long period of time, as said above.
thank for the info very helpfull
That's... a lot of stuff you can put in your home instance.
Rat gang!
True the best race in game, are the tiny rats... but you can't play them.
