    I was given a K&N intake a couple years ago and almost every day for two years I looked at it just laying on a skid in the garage.I thought it was worthless just laying there doing nothing all the time. Not much of a present if you ask me. Well, I finally decided to buy a 2018 Nissan Frontier "Midnight Edition" 4.0 and I threw it on and man, what a difference! That intake is good after all!

    Just installed this on my '08 Pathfinder. The motor sounds amazing when that rev counter hits 4500 and up!

    I included in the description to a .pdf so you can see how to take it off.
    All k&n filters come with papers on how to take off and install the new air filter. Hope this helps!

    I’ve done this similar mod to several vehicles and in my honest opinion, it makes it sound better but doesn’t do much for performance and definitely not for gas mileage. You may gain 5 hp but at redline and usually you lose a little bottom end torque, which sucks. If you just redline your ride all the time you will trash it.
    Figure, the engineers at any of the car manufacturers have done the math and figured out the best all around airflow, torque and hp for regular driving. Different story for a heavily modified race vehicle with no Cats, a hot cam, bigger throttle body, ported and polished heads, etc. Then a cold air intake makes sense. Just saying from my personal experience. Save your money.

    Thanks for the vid, I wanna put one on mine soon. 2010 Frontier Pro-4X. Your vid was perfect, just with you would of finished it with a close up of the exhaust again at the end....curious if it sounds any different. lol But no worries, thanks again. Also, you have prob answered this already...But was it a easy install? And would you say you can def tell a difference, even a little?

    I have the instructions and I spoke to tech support for K&N and he said it might be an open hose that blows out air from the tranni that is left open. But I have a check engine light on that is P0101 which is mass air flow. This is is held down along the wheel well and comes from under the engine. But where does this hose connect too?

    I put in a K&N cold air intake and one hose from the crank case goes to the middle of the K&N long tune,..where does the other smaller tube connect too ?

    I always thought frontiers came stock with a cold air intake since it gets from wheel well. What i did is remove that 2 inch dia tubing and put a 4 inch tubing going into air box. also remove the small tubing inside air box. so all air intake is in a huge tube and your still getting the air from outside the hot engine bay. Now if i could just figure out a way to hook up AC here so the air coming in is truly cold.

    how do you take the cover off the top of the 4.0 engine without breaking anything? I believe I have to remove the top plastic engine cover to be able to replace all the spark plugs...

    I just call them what other people call them.. I do understand what you mean. There is nothing cold about it just a shorting tubing for the intake. But that is what everybody else calls its and searches for.

      Hunter Keszler yes mine sounds muscle but will increase a gas mileage a bit... you can feel you add some HP too.

    • @Hunter-rt6cf
      @Hunter-rt6cf 9 лет назад

      James Rock how do you have yours ran? Dual in/ single out? Do you still have the factory y pipe? Is it 3 inches before or after? Did you lose low end torque? Does it sound good at higher rpms?

    • @lethalchaos19
      @lethalchaos19 9 лет назад

      single in/out dont do dual u will loose your torque.. yeah sounds humming muscle tone... i modified my intake myself bought adaptor from ebay hook the cone filter and thats it.. i also modified my own heat shield i rivette them with aluminum and tape them anti heat protectant.... i mean 3 inch pipe from your catalytic going out to your muffler..flowmaster 40 series..
