  • Taking a look at the RBP Stealth Power Steps with extended drop. Installed on a 2012 Ram 2500 with 8" lift and 37" tires. These RBP steps make the point in which you have to step to get into the truck 13 inches lower! This helps out a ton. Great product and excellent quality.

    I waited patiently to be able to order mine and then waited for months after that for them to finally ship out.
    Well worth the wait!

    Not sure if the RAM kit is the similar to the Ford, but I can’t figure out which bracket to put on which corner. The parts list says the motors go towards the rear of the brackets. The photo shows them on the outer sides of the brackets. 🤷‍♂️

    Had mine installed on my 19 rebel. Looksmm m like your in the snow belt. So am I. They suck when salt and snow. Build up and you have to lube them almost everyday or keep them clean. Mine are now ceased. Going to try and soak them in diesel fluid for a week and try them again. I would not recommend power boards u too the come up with grease fittings as there are none

    Clearly, you are a professional and very very meticulous when it comes to your work! May I ask s question, do the seats have to be removed? Or does this ultimately make a cleaner and neater and simpler, just time-consuming because of the seat removal? Any feedback would be grea, as I'm looking to purchase these, but a little intimidated by the install.

      Hi, thanks for the compliment. Yes the seats and center console should be removed in order to easier run the wires under the carpet to each door. Its actually not that bad to do. The hardest part was mounting the motors underneath the truck and getting the bolt holes to line up on the bottom pinch weld of the rocker panel. The wiring actually wasn't bad. Just take your time, relax and do it when your not in a rush. I installed the motors one day (took maybe a couple hours or so because i struggled for a bit) then another day I bolted on the steps and started wiring underneath the truck. Then I removed the seats and finished everything up on another day. So i just took my time with it. Its really not bad when you break it into sections to get it done. The steps work great and i really like that my obd port isn't taken up by these at all. Overall i reccommend them! 😃

      Oh, and removing the seats and center console is pretty easy. Seats are just 4 bolts and unplug a couple wire harnesses, the center console is like 4 or 6 bolts and then it comes undone also and can be removed. RBP has a install video on their site that really helped me when installing everything.

      I've never removed seats or consoles to install these steps, I've only removed the trim from each door that holds down the carpet, fished the wiring with a clothes hanger and done ... I got mine when these first came out on my 2018 Ram 1500, much better steps than the AMPS ...
      But you don't need to removed the seats and it's not good advice to remove the seats on these trucks since they use bolts than need to be replaced once removed for safety reasons ...

    You say they come down 13 inches okay, so what's the height of the steps from the ground

    • @Temptation_Offroad
      @Temptation_Offroad  Год назад

      That would all depend on how big of lift kit and tires each person has on their truck. I went with a measurement that anyone can go check on their vehicle.

    • @Temptation_Offroad
      @Temptation_Offroad  Год назад +1

      No these don't plug into the OBD2 port at all. They run directly to the battery and use magnetic switches to sense when to raise and lower.
