  • The Rough Country E-Boards are simple to install. The steps are advertised to support up to 600 pounds. Power , ground, and door trigger wires are the only cut splice wiring. The rest of the wiring harness is snap connections.

Great video. I like where you installed the magnets vs higher on the door frame as seen in other RC videos. Thanks for doing the video as this was very helpful for my 3500 Cummins. Hopefully, they addressed the DEF issue since your posting a year ago.

I just started putting mine on today and they are built way better than the amp steps they actually have a motor on each one of them my amp steps only had a motor on the front and that’s it and in the winter they wouldn’t work for crap rough country for the win tomorrow I’m gonna tackle the wiring harness.

nice job. Apparently they will fit the diesel crew cabs but it's just the wiring harness that's too short, although they assure me that you can make your own to make these work on the diesel trucks. rough country is working on that issue and will have the fix for that soon.

Thanks! The wiring is very simple. That's what I liked the most about the system my jeep will be next . I hope the video was helpful!

They just told me that their kit fits the trucks. Maybe they've addressed the issue?
Where would the wiring issue be when installing the system? Running wire to the passenger side?

Hey bro where did you connect the ground for the sensors & where did you put the magnet because I install mine & they only work with the on & off button

How did you run the wires to the passenger side?
I have seen people drill holes in driver and passenger side floorboards and I seen a guy run it through the frame

I ran the wires to the passenger side under the carpet close to the firewall/lower console.

I know this is kinda older video, but did you use the provided shims at all? I get a small bind out of front, almost as they open slower then the rears

No I did not use the shims. I haven't had any issues thus far.

It will not work on diesels because of the def tank being in the way.

They told me it’s just the wiring harness and there working on that issue. Can’t see the def tank interfering, but if so I’ll remove mine as mine is deleted anyways.

Didn't want music, turn your phone sideways. This sucks to not be able to widescreen on my TV. Phone I can turn sideways, TV, a lil more difficult.

did you think that it would be helpful to cover the screen with words and your thoughts, while at the same time obscuring the actual detailed installation...... all at the same time? pffft
