I just returned from Argentina and all I needed to enter was my passport (although they do require C-19 insurance and a filled out health affidavit but no one asked me for mine). Unvaxxed can enter and there is no need for proof of negative test from anyone. This is strange given that for over a year after the pandemic started, Argentina has some of the strictest restrictions in the world, even more strict than Canada. Being fully open has not increased Covid cases at all there. They have moved forward, but what is Canada doing?

As an American I will say this app is definitely not the sole reason. Most of it is economics. Middle class Americans are just not taking nearly as many road trips as they used to, full stop. Even travel within the US has not recovered to pre-covid levels. With rents and food prices soaring working Americans simply can not afford the time and money to go on vacations like they used to. Add to that the fact that crossing the border used to only require a basic driver's licence and now needs a passport, which only about 1/3 of Americans have.

i don't know. i just came back from Mexico and Toronto pearson airport... wow what a mess, the indian students are all huddled up on the floor filling out paper work, then to the right of them theres people sleeping on the floor. we travel frequently, being that I'm in the military, but this is the first time in 2 years weve had to fly somewhere. there is more people flying than ever before, and the nightmare doesnt just end once you've exited the airport. theres hundreds of people flooding pickup and drop off area with lineups of vehicles.
what a nightmare it was returning to canada. just like when the pandemic hit everybody thought people wouldn't have money but then record numbers of people suddenly had the money to pull millions upon millions of dollars for houses.
