India is falling on everything, except tax collection btw & not corporate tax but individual tax. Exploitation of salaried class hasn't seen in whole history of human civilization.
My 2 cents. I think the biggest difference between the two countries is people's mindset. Through so many ups and downs, Chinese people, especially the Chinese leaders, are accustomed to facing big challeges and difficulties, and even eargerly looking forward to, revolutionary changes and disruptive reforms. Meanwhile in India, national independence was earned through non-voilent and noncooperation movements, changes are usually happening in a more gradual, slow and passive way, because India hasn't faced big crisis, violent revolutions and radical reforms in its recent history. People rarely want to get out of their comfort zone, because they don't have to. The mindset of the Indian people is more about opportunistic thinking than strategic thinking, and too much diversity, conflicting interests and chaotic democracy lead to low efficiency and shortsight (sometimes self-defeating) decisions.

Not true, but most likely in rural areas, it's incredibly cheap. It could come close.
It's a double whammy for India. Machines make things easier and faster. And also cheaper, if economies of scale is achieved. But more machines would mean that an even higher number of people being replaced and left unemployed.
This double whammy can lead to a stalled growth.
it is more convienient too . when i was in india , At 20 dollars per month, i had hired a lady who does my laundry using my washing Maschine, then irons my clothes and arranges them neatly in my cupboard. she visits my home every Saturday . in india you can live luxuriously if you have more money than the rest . In the west 70 year olds drag their own grocery bags. In india my father who was a cancer patient and a university professor , could afford hire a driver for 150 dollars per month . he would get the list of tasks from my father over a messenger app and then do them using our car . He would for example book MRI appointments for my father at a hospital , then drive my father there , and then drive him back home, take out carpets to the dry cleaners, purchase groceries for us, get cash from ATM , medicines from dispensary etc, so everything that needed to de done outside the house he would take care . After immigrating to Germany, the one thing i miss most is poor people. Just yesterday i spent two hours deep cleaning my toilet and bathroom and kitchen after i came back to germany from a holiday . In india someone would have done that for me at the price of a macDonalds burger. poverty is also very important . in germany even the refugees are getting money from the government . If i ask a refugee to clean my bathroom and kitchen for 5 dollars , they would laugh at me.
