Ah! You've got my attention! As a veteran Warframe player: Most of our melee weapons definitely are form over function. However to address a few weapons you questioned, not from the perspective of it being used by Warframes.
All freaking rapiers: Agreed, they aren't practical in the slightest. There's legitimately no reason besides it looks cool to the average person.
Karyst: I'm not sure at all why they made the Karyst Prime the way it is but I feel like you should see how big it actually is in game. The thing is classified as a dagger but is large enough to probably count as a short sword - in game it actually has the longest reach of any dagger, bringing it to actually stand near the long sword class. That all only makes the design choice weirder to look at.
Kreska: Not even gonna bother spelling it right since that weapon doesn't even weapon right. When you brought that up and said "I don't know how the kreska works" I said to myself out loud "Neither do we" but for a serious answer, I would imagine it's supposed to be a form of multi tool? The main purpose is probably to use for breaking apart ice and gathering samples, especially since it somehow lights on fire. Don't get me wrong, it probably sucks at all those jobs but it's supposed to look cool. Enemies in game just swing it around, I think it's classed as an axe?
Ghoul Saw: Laugh at it. It was a joke that people memed until eventually wanting it for real. The thing is actually really awful as a weapon but that's definitely for the stats rather than accuracy to real life. The only moveset it has involves swinging it around and primarily holding it out forwards and trying to cut through enemies. It's ungodly stupid to use but also fun since you can ride it a tiny bit.
Venka: Eh. Claws look cool. I don't expect them to work very well, though judging by the look of Venka, it actually might be able to cut your hand very easy if you don't wear thick gloves, never a problem for warframes with their metal skin but is a problem for us humans with our regular skin.
Overall, nice video! I'm surprised you didn't touch on a gunblade or two in it, figured the Redeemer wouldn't have been the only one you'd think was weird.

Some useful info on the mechanisms behind how a warframe is constructed from a huge lore nerd, which could provide some explanation for any future analysis of weapons, hopefully without spoiling anything. A lot of this information becomes available from "The Second Dream" to "The Sacrifice", though other elements that are not specifically stated are heavily implied based on either mechanics, quotes, or other lore tidbits. Anyone reading, let me know if I got anything wrong, as it's helpful to know!:
The chassis of a warframe is a mostly synthetic mesh comprised of small metal particulate, akin to iron filings but on the scale of nanometers. These particles bind together through an unknown mechanism to create a flexible but highly resilient "skin", explaining how holding a blade, such as that of the Kunai, would cause surprisingly little damage. This mesh is also regenerative, and is capable of hardening or softening at will/altering chemical properties via the systems, meaning it is equally resistant to all forms of potential harm, protecting the internal components.
Below this skin is a form of biomechanical muscular system formed from mostly organic tissue (which is why they can bleed). This tissue is reinforced by a mycelium type network of techno-organic cells, blostering strength and damage resistance (this is where the skin is theoretically replenished) while also being riddled with circuitry designed to convert void energy from an Orokin cell array into a variety of useful forms. These cells on their own cannot generate a large amount of power (only enough for basic movement, vision and life support), but through some form of dimensional engineering they have an uplink to a much larger power source hidden within a mostly infested moon in an alternate reality. This power is controlled via the mind of the user using a system known as a Somatic Link to manifest the abilities seen ingame, though with various subroutines that assist in combat such as supercharging muscles in order to allow for greatly accelerated motion, reflexes and strength, or the ability to overclock all systems a few times before needing repairs in order to come back from the brink of death, while also providing a passive void shield in most cases. This barrier can detect incoming fire or attacks of any kind in order to absorb all directed energy, though this puts the system under stress, and after enough punishment the shield will break completely for a period of time until the Warframe is no longer under fire. On breaking, the Shield will briefly surge with power to absorb all energy from the last attack, in a last ditch effort to protect the frame, and after a period of time will begin recharging. Shields are however susceptible to electromagnetic interference and have a curious interaction with bladed weapons. If a blade strikes the shield with force enough to split it, it will take much longer to recharge, as the shield itself will "bleed" for a period of time, with the wound eventually transferring to the Warframe if the damage cannot be repaired in time. As they are not fast moving projectiles or substances with obvious/preventable energy transfer; toxins, extreme temperature drops, magnetic interferences, instances of irradiation, corrosion or viral infection, and electrocution can all easily bypass shielding, even if the attack itself cannot. Toxins are particularly proficient, as the Warframes themselves allow for air flow through the mesh skin, meaning any poisons that enter the device will cause damage even if the shield is fully restored. Any other form of incoming damage is prevented, however.
Internal damage to electrical components or muscular systems will not be repaired, unfortunately, and must be maintained between combat situations by an external device, often contained onboard the orbiter of the Tenno in question.
Finally, below all of these sensitive systems, biomechanical devices and metallic shielding, an endoskeleton is present, comprised of a much more tightly bound form of the epidermal tissue, appearing akin to a humanoid skeleton of solid metal, with a composition similar to that of animal bone, though heavily reinforced by an intelligent nanoswarm that provides a contact point between the rest of the Warframe and the neuroptic components within the helmet, which translate user thoughts into actionable commands via a transference bolt connected to a blend of nervous tissue and semi-intelligent nanomachines that interface with both the skeleton and mycelium network.
Warframes are beyond a shadow of a doubt an extremely effective combat platform, providing the user with an excess of strength, reflexive capabilities and resilience to damage, all the while enabling them to make use of interdimensional physics to manifest ungodly abilities. With all of this, it's no real wonder why a single Tenno threat is often met with an entire enemy army, who all subsequently get creamed hard enough that all that's left is little more than a large red stain. Merge that with an absolutely absurd selection of weapons that no human could reasonably use and enough technology to both take on an entire empire and win, and you have yourself a fully armed Tenno. Hopefully this explains how some of these tools are used in the methods they are (e.g. the Venka risking breaking bone or the Kunai slicing the hand to ribbons), or even how it's physically possible for the Tenno to use them (Such as the Galatine Prime or the Grattler), as in universe, effectively nobody else comes even close to what we can do

What are you talking about?!?! How can Marcus explain how a weapon feels without feeling the grip? You know what oxymoron means (its not an insult). its like asking him to explain how it would feel to fly like a dragonfly!!
There is NO seperation between "uncomfortable grip" and normal sense of touch. And a full sense of touch is ALWAYS essential to handling and accurately manipulating ANY object weapon or otherwise. This is not hard to comprehend m8. Image trying to eat your dinner with a knife and fork and anesthetize hands ............ wouldn't work out too well would it.
Also what makes you think WF cannot feel uncomfortable grip if anything a meta-human melee killing machine would be equipted with hugely heightened sense of touch which would assist greatly in weapon handling ..... just ask Marcus which would be better for a melee dedicated creature lower sense of touch or much higher sense of touch, answer is obvious the anesthetised dinner example tells you all you need to know.
Another thing i think you don't get is that a badly balanced, and thus unwieldy weapon cannot "do its job" as well as one that is balanced and weighted correctly. Options would be use a correctly balance/weighted weapon and operate at 100% combat effectiveness or use a weapon not balance/weighted and deliberately reduce your own combat effectiveness ..... doh
Many weapons in WF are just stupidly designed as practical weapons, get used to the fact fantasy games often add over designed nonsense, talking added nonsense to try and make sense of then is just silly.

Someone may have already mentioned it, but the Masseter's design is based on a kanabō, keeping in line with Grendel (it's wielder)'s Oni stylings. As to why it's a greatsword, the in-game class is "Heavy Blade", which is the generic title for all big swords, axes, and anything else using those mechanics.
The Halikar basically does what it says - in addition to smacking people around with it in your hand, you can charge it up to throw it, causing it to bounce around, smash into enemies, and occasionally disarm them. It's good fun!

The offshoot segment on the Dark Sword is actually a connection port, where the smaller-but-otherwise-identical-looking Dark Dagger can be placed on.

Long-time Warframe veteran here. This oughta be good, because Warframe is a universe where "form over function" is tattooed onto both hands of every blacksmith. The weapons here are WILD, and wildly impractical above all else.
*Anku:* this scythe is actually _collapsible._ Those three flimsy attachment points? They're _joints._
*Cassowar:* this god-damn thing is 8 feet long and those two heads are a good four inches thick each, yet it's somehow an incredibly fast weapon. I'm talking ten hits a second with this thing, it's insane.
*Ceramic dagger:* A very early weapon in Warframe's history, it's using older design principles of the Cronus and Skana short swords. Ceramic Dagger was mediocre even on launch and is terrible now, it's kind of uninteresting to talk about.
*Dark Sword: this is actually a scaled-up dagger. Yes, they took the Dark Dagger, stretched it out to twice the size, drilled two holes into the crossguard, and called it a sword.
*Destreza:* You wanna know how out-there they took "form over function" with this thing? They hired a calligraphy artist to create a written language for the fictional Orokin Empire. Then they took his design for the Orokin letter "J," put a cutting edge on it, and viola you have the Destreza.
*Dragon Nikana:* That's a scabbard. The Nikana is halfway out of its scabbard. You can see a recurring motif with the Nikana, where the crossguard is actually a flared-out part of the blade rather than a separate piece of metal.
*Dual Kamas:* I like the "blood-drip notch" on these things, a rare practical design from Warframe.
*Dual Raza:* Oh wow, THESE things. You wanna know what these are? You won't believe me. These are pistol magazines. Yes, these are PISTOL MAGAZINES with handles welded onto them. That's what those spikey things on the cutting edges are, they're pistol rounds. You are hitting people with BULLETS
*Ether Reaper:* This thing is supposed to be an energy blade, but the 3D texture messed up and it looks like it's metal instead of translucent energy.
*Fang:* I wish I had something to say about these. They seem to be made of scales.
*Gazal Machete:* OK funny story about this thing, It's absolutely terrible in-game, slow and weak... and it's still the strongest machete by a wide margin. It's honestly kind of sad.
*Ghoulsaw:* I have nothing to add to your commentary. Perfection.
*Guandao:* This weapon was added into the game (alongside two playable characters) specifically to promote the developer's acquisition by a Chinese publisher.
*Halikar:* We have no idea how it works either. It belongs to the "Throwing Glaive" class (actually chakrams) but that doesn't help much at all. In game mechanics it has a unique mechanic to knock guns out of your hand, and it's implied in the lore to double as a _dog toy._ I'm not making that up.
*Karyst:* Not much to add, besides this dagger has innate poison damage. Pretty useful for a dagger.
*Kestrel:* This is the Halikar's oft-forgotten sister. Yes, this boomerang counts as a chakram.
*Kreska:* The official concept art of this thing states it would be a practical weapon because it has a "carabiner to transport it easily." Yes, that absolutely helps and makes this a practical hand-to-hand weapon, I agree.
*Masseter:* Calling it a "greatsword" was just to help the in-game animations. It's actually a Japanese kanabo, crossed with a truck's drivetrain. It does indeed spin rapidly in-game.
*Nami Skyla/Solo:* Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! These are the signature weapons of the character Hydroid, a space pirate. One of his in-game skins even gives him Captain Morgan's coat.
*Ninkondi:* These things are radioactive. So is the Dark Sword by the way, I left that out earlier. But yeah, radioactive nunchaku, because why not? It's Warframe.
*Orthos Prime:* In the lore, this polearm is made of _pure rubidium._ And if you know your chemistry right now, "what the fuck?!" is indeed the appropriate response.
*Pangolin Sword:* This uses the same texture as the Fang, which explains the scales.
*Tatsu:* They hyped this thing up for years before finally releasing it. What did they do to make up for the long wait? This thing collects souls and _shoots them back out_ at more enemies.
*Tenet Grigori:* This thing comes from a special line of Tenet weapons. Their gimmick is they can fold up into briefcases. You know, so you can whip them out in the courtroom when you're being sued for insider trading.
*Tipedo:* For some reason this thing counts as a quarterstaff, not a polearm. Unless you reforge it into the Lesion weapon, which is a polearm even though it has the same shape. Go figure.
*Tonbo:* My personal favorite, though I still wanna know why it has heatsinks.
*Twin Basolk:* Remember that meme of the red-hot 1,000 degree knife? The Basolk do the same thing, the cutting edges heat up and catch targets on fire.
*Venka:* These things have a unique holster animation where they literally just shrink. The devs gave up on lore reasons solely to complete the Wolverine homage.
*Kunai:* Sadly these can't be used as melee weapons. In terms of game code, they count as a semi-automatic pistol, with a ten-round magazine. Yeah, imagine holding ten of these in your hands and trying to throw them one at a time
Thanks for coming along with this ride through Warframe's history with us!

One of my favorite parts about warframe, as a long time vet of the game, is how this game can go from regular gun, bow, pistol, and melee designs to a a rifle that that uses the souls of enemies you killed with it to make a soul grenade, a bow that launches small thermo nuclear missiles, a pistol that summons an ethereal version of itself, and a sword that's a detached limb from an ancient being just to name a few

Masseter's use is that of a great club (most likely based on the Japanese kanabo judging by its being the signature weapon of the warframe Grendel, who has an oni theme), but there is no great club weapon group so they have to put it in the next closest group. Hope that helps!

All nikanas are a katana of a sorts and a sheath. Using the weapon thumbnail images are hard to get a good visual of Nikanas and you may require a picture from jn game or the wiki to see the blade itself

For the Anku the blade part actually unfolds like a scythe that you'd see depicted with the grim reaper. Plus, the Nikana weapons show the blade win the sheathe. The Halikar and other glaive-type weapons are basically magic boomerangs. IIRC the Masseter does indeed spin. Note: I edited the comment as I watched the video, and tbh I'm a bit surprised he did a bunch of melee weapons and then the Kunai lol

some awnsers to som of the things in your vid. on the anku it can fold out so that is why it looks a bit wierd. the dark sword wierd bit is for its dual swords form where it can combine with the dark dagger. yes the nikana are in the sheath in the image.

The image of Anku is the weapon in it's retracted state. The blade extends into a typical scythe position when wielded

For some weird reason, to this day, the Anku is displayed in that image in it's "folded" form, the blade extends out like a regular scythe in combat.

The fang are still stilettos I believe going by your definition. They have no edge, they're essentially just pointy sticks. Correct me if I'm wrong because I am by no means an expert at all.
