Got to disagree on this one. The Slash DoTs don't take elemental damage into account at all. It's purely based on Modded Base Damage, Faction Damage and additional multipliers like crit 😉
As a returning player from 4 years ago, I feel enlightened to know that condition overload and blood rush are not multiplicative (anymore?) and therefore shouldn't be used together.
@@Sabotai2 werent they always additive? if u get 90% crit dmg from one mod and 480% from bloodrush it would be 570%, no? that s also the reason why it s better to look for mods that gives an extra multiplier to ur weapon instead of something that just adds. with x as ur dmg. in this case u d have 5,7*x or u pick a faction mod instead giving 1,55*4,8*x=7,44*x and the next thing to pay attention would be to even out the multipliers instead of focussing on one. example u have the option to go with 3*5 or 4*4, first is 15 second 16. ofc this only works if the mods u have the option to put on have similar values

Regarding the slash status comment at around 11:50: Slash is actually fairly weak, as far as damage output goes. Its sole advantage is, as is mentioned, that it ignores armor. Slash isn't that great if the enemy has no armor. It's a bit over the top to call it the best status in the game, especially as defense strip has gotten more and more accessible. Because it was as relatively scarce as it was for so long, people seem to have forgotten that both electric and gas are AoE damage and, as a result, effectively scale with the amount of enemies present on top of the usual stuff. This is also why, in my opinion at least, you'd use gas against infested, moreso than their vulnerability to the raw damage of it. They (outside of Deimos) have no armor, so you don't even have to armor strip them. Literally just bring Nautilus and a status gas/electric weapon and hit each Cordon-gathered ball of enemies once and watch them explode due to AoE status damage.
Slash is however by far the most usefull out of the physical status effects. Infested are also so easy to kill that modding for them in particular is pretty unecessary.

the only reason i focus on just building for crit damage is because of those "stupid" situations where you have to destroy an object such as HIVE missions. Suddenly, your OP steel path end game DPS is so miniscule it will take you and the entire team melee attacking one hive node for about five minutes to destroy it. Meanwhile, you can shred masses of enemies in less than a second. i'll never forget the four times i went into HIVE and either the other player(s) didn't help me take down the node or i had to solo the mission due to being dropped into solo and having to melee the node for about five minutes to destroy it. i'm talking about the main node not the protective cyst things.
Something I like about Warframe is that you can get by with basic modding but if you like to minmax you can research and study to amplify them but if you dont want to do the research and just want to play with op weapons you can just look it up
thought i would add this here since this came out before whispers in the wall. With tennokai, your heavy attacks can be used without consuming combo. Because of this, hybrid light heavy is much better. Even with something like Nikana prime, you'll do insane damage on heavy if a tennokai proc happens at 12x combo. Idk how late game viable it actually is, but its fun. I reccomend running blood rush and umbral strike for max crit (its prob overkill but i like red numbers)
Me, looking at a 23 minute guide without blinking knowing very well that i will keep viral+priming the enemies and heavy attack with a guaranteed slash proc weapon. 👁👄👁

The stats are: dmg: 440.8 cold, 36.7 puncture, 1542.9 slash and 146.9 impact. Bc of its trait the cold changes to viral after 1-2 hits. Also, outright wrong. Strance mods change the move set yes, but also the invisible damage multipliers, forced status effects, cleave, and many other stats of the attacks. While you can't find the into in game, the wiki has most if not all of this under each stance's entry
using both gladiator might and organ shatter is good imo esp if low cc on weapon higher chance of super crits. dont build combo if no naramon just dont its horrible not worth getting combo duration mods over dps mods. sac pressure bad bc u should be using glad might or blood rush over SS everyday esp if ur using condition overload and weeping wounds. also priming is good but u can get through starchart and even up to lv 80-90 enemies without priming. just use corrosive/slash with on a combo build, WW/Condition ov/blood rush/organ shat/berserker fury are all must haves for a combo build. corpus enemies r weak and easy to kill u dont need to build a specific element for them. status proc from corrosive lowers their armor % anyways. non armored infested are easy to kill with slash proc and the armored ones corrosive melts them. grineer gets shit on by corrosive. if u stay above just 5 stacks on any decent weapon u should be shredding regardless if u prime or not on starchart and high lv bounties
Corrosive and Slash contradict each other. Corrosive lowers armor while Slash ignores it. Elements also do not increase bleed damage. Blood Rush will not work on heavy attack builds, and sacrificial steel gives the exact same bonus due to the 2x on heavy attack modifier. Corpus on Steel Path, especially in higher levels past 200, for sure need Toxin to bypass their immense shield pools. No amount of Slash or Viral will work here. Dexterity arcanes on a primer do more for your melee than you think.

Something I like about Warframe is that you can get by with basic modding but if you like to minmax you can research and study to amplify them but if you dont want to do the research and just want to play with op weapons you can just look it up
Remember when condition overload was just the godliest mod ever?
thought i would add this here since this came out before whispers in the wall.
Any melee ❌
Melee with high crit, high status and high slash chance ✅
Slash is a Status so Slash weapons can proc Spring-Loaded Blade if you are building say a Statstick
but why statstick needs spring-loaded blade ? hmm ?
I hope you update this considering the massive changes to mechanics with Jade Shadows :)
You are the first person who made the good guide for building ever
Me, looking at a 23 minute guide without blinking knowing very well that i will keep viral+priming the enemies and heavy attack with a guaranteed slash proc weapon. 👁👄👁
I mean Viral Priming + Heavy Attack is super strong so I guess you didn't need this guide after all :D
@@Dedmos2322 melee was always braindead in this game u could just get any decent mele and inaros and do everything in warframe tbh
@@kgldjkgur2046inaros is worst wf to exist, healthpool is not working in curent situation if not built super specifically
i havent played in years but i found this and brought back memories of when i finally started to understand modding
That's nice to hear ^-^
I think Quickening isn't to be underestimated for attack speed mods, imo. It has lower speed, but gives you another useful bonus.
But I get that you want to keep the video simply for beginners. Good video btw, very good indeed for beginners and some things were new for me, too. Good work :3
Thank you for the nice feedback ❤️ Glad you liked the vid ^^
You're right, Quickening is nice. If you're running a combo heavy attack hybrid build or if you're not going for Naramon, I think this one might even be the best choice ^^
you can use arcane strike, berserker fury, AND quickening for fun levels of attack speed. i do this and its so nice
mI think this is going to be more relevant when we finally get the ability to hold the melee button instead of mashing it xD
@@MHBlacky_ENG heck yeah. Time to go nuts
@@MHBlacky_ENG or in an zenistar heat build, lots of heat scaling there with good attack speed, wich also helps its gimmick.
@@MHBlacky_ENGagreed. With that button and that attack speed setup, it turns any sword into the Crissaegrim from the Castlevania series!
Big red number make happy chemical :)
Hahaha that's my life since over a year now xD
Hear me out. Go into visual settings and change all dmg indicators colors to be red. Happy all the time😎
Great video as always! 👌🏼
Your tips help a lot to make better builds.
Thanks Blacky! 😄
Great that I could help you ^^
Thank you for the encouraging feedback ❤️
So you are telling me I can finally enjoy the game in my own way?
Time to finally rock melee owo
You always could
@@bosslogo6948they prob just mean they always wanted to mainly use melee but fidnt know how to make it viable
i enjoy the glaive prime detonation build honestly the most feels very strong even in long steel path runes
Me, too. It's wild :D
Ive made a lesion build with 114% status chance. It is built on slash(82%) and ice(23%) mostly and thx to it special trait it deals after 1-2 blows viral with 100% netxt to slash.
What mods are you using bro? I main the lesion and am watching this video to try and build it better lol
@@Vntichrist I mainly modded it on slash. The mods I run currently are: perssure point (+120%dmg), Melee Prowess (+90%stc), Boreals Contempt (+90%dmg/+60%stdmg), True Steel (+120% crit chance), carnis mandible (+90%slash/+60%stc), jagged edge (+90%slash), vicious frost (+60%cold/+60%stc) and reach (+1.5range). I dont have all primed mods so theres room to improve it. Also Im thinking about changing true steel with fury but im not sure yet. The stats are: dmg: 440.8 cold, 36.7 puncture, 1542.9 slash and 146.9 impact. Bc of its trait the cold changes to viral after 1-2 hits. The crit chance are at 33 with this build with a 2x multipier and 114.7% status chance (23,3%cold, 7.8%impact, 81,7%slash and 1.9% puncture). Let me know if there is a way to improve it more but as I said, I dont have all primed mods.
Now Im thinking to change true steel with melee elementalist to increase the damage. But I dont have it now so I need to farm it first. 😂😂😂
The xoris is already OP, i dont even use guns anymore lol, just throw the xoris and yse the explosion and it takes put tons of enemies at once
Just found this weapon today, it’s how I figured out there’s a different type of attack pattern for melee weapons.
@@seanheisey8645 ohhhhh
How to make any Melee become OP:
First step: Kullervo
Last step: press 1
Whenever i first got kullervo, i had his 1st giving like +500% crit chance, and since i was using the incarnon magistar.. well, let's just say i was getting consistent multimillion dmg on slam attacks.
Rauta is also good for heavy attack melee focus builds, can probably be modded as a primer while you stack up combo counter
That's Exactly How I Modded Mine. 🤓
The corafell is the most fun weapon it just feels good to use
Try the syam then
Legitimately the best feeling weapon in the game
5:54 440%*, cuz in the right corner is 11x for blood rush (and weeping wounds)
alright youve convinced me ill care about melee
Haha then much fun I guess :D
As someone who plays way too much destiny I love the mod system in this game
Warframe is simple:
*...proceeds to mention a new nuance every 30seconds for 20minutes*
To be fair it is simple, but it can be complex.
I've got my Ekhein hammer doing over 2 million damage on some hits. It's absolutely hilarious and fun
Haha yes, big damage numbers always make my day :D
Glaive prime and Kronen Prime enjoyer here hehe
You may want to reverify condition overload damage. A few updates back, DE capped damaged to 3 unique status, thus nerfing condition overload in a big way.
Had someone else comment something similar in the past. Wiki sais it's not capped and I could not find any source that sais it is.
i wish that was true
"we won't use any elemental damage at all, just slash!"
*shows clip of enemies being blasted with mass viral stacks before using the slash weapon*
That's status priming and isn't considered "damage".
@@Sabotai2 yes but why say slash is the best if you have to use it only after priming with mass viral stacks? I know slash is good (and viral makes it better) but idk, kinda was funny timing to say that and then show that clip tbh.
Yo I’m subbing rn you are so good at explaining these things
Thank you for the nice feedback ❤️ Happy that I could help and welcome to the crew 😉
I miss when Berserker Fury worked on combo multiplier
Hahaha oh boy would that be OP xD
@@MHBlacky_ENG oh it definitely was. That was also back when Condition Overload did I think 130+ instead of 80. Got hard nerfed in 2021 when they came out with gun arcanes.
Best tutorial about vg on the internet!
Melee weapons are always cool especially given the variety, but saying Stance mods just "change the animation" (@1:17) is such an _underwhelming_ way of putting it- (٥↼∀↼)
Also, outright wrong.
Strance mods change the move set yes, but also the invisible damage multipliers, forced status effects, cleave, and many other stats of the attacks.
While you can't find the into in game, the wiki has most if not all of this under each stance's entry
Ah yes, another enjoyer of the gram prime
First step: Get all the mele mods in warframe
I have close to no good mods and I have to grind right now just to finish my builds
time consuming game. No other way to put it lol.
The entire point of this game is to grind for power
Enjoy those story missions, I've still got 7 or so
This And the gun modding guide were incredibly helpful.
Thank you!
using both gladiator might and organ shatter is good imo esp if low cc on weapon higher chance of super crits. dont build combo if no naramon just dont its horrible not worth getting combo duration mods over dps mods. sac pressure bad bc u should be using glad might or blood rush over SS everyday esp if ur using condition overload and weeping wounds. also priming is good but u can get through starchart and even up to lv 80-90 enemies without priming. just use corrosive/slash with on a combo build, WW/Condition ov/blood rush/organ shat/berserker fury are all must haves for a combo build. corpus enemies r weak and easy to kill u dont need to build a specific element for them. status proc from corrosive lowers their armor % anyways. non armored infested are easy to kill with slash proc and the armored ones corrosive melts them. grineer gets shit on by corrosive. if u stay above just 5 stacks on any decent weapon u should be shredding regardless if u prime or not on starchart and high lv bounties
Dexterity arcanes
Corrosive and Slash contradict each other. Corrosive lowers armor while Slash ignores it. Elements also do not increase bleed damage.
Blood Rush will not work on heavy attack builds, and sacrificial steel gives the exact same bonus due to the 2x on heavy attack modifier.
Corpus on Steel Path, especially in higher levels past 200, for sure need Toxin to bypass their immense shield pools. No amount of Slash or Viral will work here.
Dexterity arcanes on a primer do more for your melee than you think.
So that’s why faction mods are good. Good to know.
And then tennokai came along and made it so that heavy attack builds relying on initial combo is just stupid.
So redeemer, stropha, vastilok
I like Destreza prime because of the crit chance/DMG plus the heavy attack does a guaranteed slash proc I just like poking my enemies with a stick
Haha reminds me of this "c'mon do something" meme xD
Another way to make ANY melee weapons op, is to just play Kullervo. He has everything to enhance the build in this video beyond the ceiling.
Haha Kullervo is THE Melee Frame for sure :D
Phenomenal extremely intensive detailed video. I’m a new player but I’ve been playing a for a month got some pretty good builds but steel path enemies around 150+ start becoming sponges those bane mods must be key ALSO PLS show us that guando prime build
Regarding Toxin vs Shields, it doesn't bypass all types of shield, so I always use an allrounder build with Slash, Heat and Magnetic. Yeah it's not that powerful but I don't feel like switching mods for every faction as I have included Slash for Grineer, Heat for Infested and Magnetic for Corpus. (Also, Magnetic hits with any weapon pops magnetic bubble anomalies in missions with this hazzard type)
no toxin bypasses all shield health
@@noahedenborg4221there are different types of shields some in which toxin can’t pass
@@uchihasage7 no i check toxin bypasses every shield

Very easy to understand information. Love your structure for videos. Subbed
Please tell me that you will cover warframe modding at some point soon, i have been struggling figuring out what mods are good/bad in general for steel path
Haha, I'd love to do a vid like this on Warframes but there's not a general scheme on how to mod with Warframes as there is with weapons... Maybe I'll be able to come up with someting ;)
It’s really simple, just mod for what your build calls for
Bro you helped me so much just keep it up
