Glad to see you being safe using a jack stand. A,lot of ppl rely on their jack to be safe to do the job. I lost my brother 5 years ago when the jack failed and came down crushing his chest killing him instantly. I can’t thank you enough for doing it the right way. You are correct that there is not many videos that show the HID style light replacement. They are totally different from the typical halogen and LED type bulbs out there.
I shared your frustration!!!! Wish I would have found your video sooner!! I had to do the same thing and remove the tire and wheel well to change mine.
Many thanks. I'd watched another video with the older style, metal clip connector over the back of the bulb housing and couldn't figure out what I was feeling. Once I saw this video, it all made sense and the bulb changeout went smoothly. Many thanks!
Which video was that lol😂 my 11 has this same high dollar bulb but has the metal you are talking about where it seems you just pinch them but that ain’t workin
I had a question about the ballast? What does the plug look like? There are now LED replacements on the market for these but I have to obviously bypass the HID ballast.
At 27 second into video, you can see the ballast. The plug is integrated in to the casting. Just remove torx screws and slides out easily. I have an extra ballast that is good if need one
@@ginandmore ahh ok, so it just kinda clicks into the plug in the back of that mounting cast? Sounds like trying to modify that will be more trouble than what its worth for me.
I took the negative off on battery then I just turned the tire took off all the screws for the wheel liner and pushed the lock up took the old HID bulb put disconnected it and threw the new 1 in. Got the replacement from rock auto since dealer wanted $350 for the same bulb. Felt like removing the tire was an extra step not needed.
This youtube video titled: "2008 Cadillac Escalade Ballast Completely Eliminated, Watch". This video that I made days ago, will allow you to totally Eliminate the ballast. You can also Google the title.

Thank you very much for the video. Is that cord part of the headlight assembly or is it coming from somewhere esle
Thanks your video was way better than some high sub mechanic shop, appreciate it man, god bless you
Super helpful tip on the black lever that locks the bulb in on a 2013. Thanks!
You're welcome

I had a 2007 Acadia with the metal clips, and could not find a video about the newer models

I have a 2012 and it has the wire clip which we lost down inside the headlight 😭
Muchas gracias, muy bien explicado. Me fue muy útil, pude hacer el recambio sin problemas.
Thank you for the video, it was a big help. This is the same (really stupid) setup as my 2014 Denali. What a PITA!!
Thank you!
Thank you for posting this!

@@rbennett53520 oh now I see why you are asking... Yes maybe there is a bypass plug you insert For the LED conversion.
@@ginandmore where can I get ballast by themselves?
@@saenzfamily5630 just Google search "Headlamp Ballast - GM (22840414)"
Great video!
Does it matter what side u push the clip down ?
Not really, the left side pushing down releases the bulb, pushing down on the right side locks the bulb into housing
Yes I saw the ballast but I didn't see what the connection looked like as it's already installed in your video.
Balast?
Where is the ballast removal part?
The ballast is cast aluminum, it slides out away from the light
I cant get the new one to lock in!
🎉thanks

I have done it before without removing the tire, but it's hard to see what is going on, and for the video removing the tire ad the easiest. ..
Nobody stats the hex screw size on the balast.
