    Watching this clip prompted me to buy my first 12 string. Thanks!

    Glad you liked it. I really prefer the sound of the "stair step" Gmaj7 to the usual Gmaj7 chord. Same chord I like to use playing "Ventura Highway" and others.

    Very well done SIR :) it's been awhile I haven't seen a guitarist use their thumb to string a note... Old school at its BEST!

    Carl, EXCELLENT rendition my guitar picking friend!! You played that impressively clean, considering the fact its a 12 string and the dificulty of the piece, I can't remember why, but I never learned the intro, just the song.
    I can't get over how old all of us have gotten, you hear on that my friend? It's just so sad to me, ever notice how when you look at people our age and older how it gets more and more difficult to see them having EVER being young? Ahh, I didn't come here to wax nostalgic, at least not alot(!) and get people all depressed, you did a remarkable job here amigo!! What make of guitar is that, I couldn't tell? It sounded AMAZING on my decent headphones, in fact, it sounded EXACTLY the same as the album, did you record that with just your phone mic?

    • @GuitarGS2010
      @GuitarGS2010  7 лет назад

      The guitar is a Rainsong WS3000 - all carbon fiber. Great sound and stays in tune! As for the mic, I just used the mic on the camcorder, nothing special. It sounds much better amp'ed.

      +GuitarGS2010 Wow, I'm 53 & I'm not familiar with that make, or carbon fiber luthiers, I'm intruqued? The sound & the clarity alone HS already got a believer outta me. They're a newer Co. I take?
      How long have you been playing man? There's a sincere love & a clear RESPECT in your playing & your body language. I swear I could feel your strict commitment to play this piece PERFECTLY by your intensity. Man, do I respect the shit outta that. And it's impressive too, to play it PERFECTLY at tempo on a 12 String, even if it's not all that hard to play normally.
      I'm curious, who have been major influences for you?

      I'm 58 and been playing since I was 5. That's a lot of years.... :-)

    Hey Carl, if I may humbly point out, with the types of really emotional chords a song like this contains, it demands that the sustains ring true . . it deeply effects the impact it has on the listener. You rush the sustains throughout the song, are you aware? You play this superbly othetwise

    • @keithlindsey7553
      @keithlindsey7553 7 лет назад

      I disagree, the sustains ma be good for the viewer but they are not true to the original piece. He did it perfectly

    Do you still have this guitar sir ?

    • @GuitarGS2010
      @GuitarGS2010  7 лет назад

      I do still have the guitar I used in the video. It's an amazing instrument. Rainsong brand, WS-3000 model. I had to order it; took about 5 months to manufacture and ship, but it was in perfect condition when it arrived. I've been very happy with it.
