  • Abdullah Kabani is the owner of Telè, a phone-repair company in Oklahoma. He demonstrates how he restores an iPad that was thrown against a wall. This includes removing the cracked screen, removing all of the components inside the iPad, replacing the old battery, reassembling the inner components into a new frame, and gluing a new screen on.

I've gotten so frustrated with these devices that I've wanted to smash them against a wall. Great to see some coverage for repairs it’s great for the environment and is a great way to keep devices in use. Just a quick note though, you should NEVER use super glue to hold down a display, ESPECIALLY not super glue. It is more likely to damage the display during use as it has no give to absorb pressure and it will make future repairs more challenging as it can’t be softened with heat. You should only use pre cut adhesive strips specific to the iPad model or cut adhesive to the right length if you can’t order the strips.

whats the point of them showing how they repair these things when regular customers dont event get offered repairs for like a broken home button, but instead a completely new device

Yeah dont go to Apple if you want your phone repaired. Apple sells replacement not repairs. Go to an independent store next time if you actually want a repair done
