How A Cut Up Louis Vuitton Belt Bag Is Restored | Refurbished | Insider - Хобби
I hope the owner of the bag is doing well and that she is safe.
Hope she wasn’t wearing it when he cut it.SCARY
Amazing that they use the original stitch holes when stitching it back together. Really excellent work!
Looks great..I hope the young lady has use of the refurbished bag for many years with joy.Bless the talented persons who do the great work....
"We've fixed your $2,000 Louis Vuitton bag like new, that'll be $3,000 please."
since it's a discontinued item, there's a high chance of that number be the real figure, yes.
Some items have emotional value (I still wear my 5 year old $10 watch even though i can afford a premium one)
@@tanmaysingh267 Proving that the word "premium" is relative.
@@danieldevito6380 isn't _everything_ relative?
Luxury repair for this item, from my knowledge depending on the damage and what is requested to be changed (or fixed), probably was around $600. The value of the bag definitely isn't worth as what it originally costed, but you must consider the sentimental value the person went to get it fixed; you have to remember this is important to her, and her ex saw that, hence why he slashed it. I think the repair was well worth it. In a way, it's her way of saying she's moved on from him and is fine--better--without him
To everyone saying how much easier/cheaper it would be to buy a new one: LV products are discontinued after a set time/volume. She even says this in the intro.
BTW: It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman; slashing up someone's belongings out of spite says volumes about you. Be better.
Nah, these bags have lost value over the last 10 years. These bags are no longer an investment for further days.
@@vollekanne6219 They never were. Hermes is the better investment if resale is the intent.
@@teruphoto stop worrying about what other people are saying.
@@I_WANT_MY_SLAW they can if they want lol
Slashing someones belongings is not that terrible. You don't know what she has done so she might have deserved it.
Well I’m glad he sliced the bag and not her! Great job on restoring that bag for her.
Taleen has that special skill were he is working quickly but never looks like he is rushing. His accuracy and speed is maintained without sacrificing either. A true master of his craft.
taleen isn't the guy doing the work, it's the woman who is speaking
@@kiyoponnn she says the person repairing is their senior technician. Not sure if the name is taleen cause I'm not bothered to check but it also isn't the woman talking in the video
@@cuegert9895 Maybe rewatch the video and reread my comment before replying with drivel
@@cuegert9895 From the description "Taleen Akopyan is a cofounder of Purse Rehab, a designer handbag restoration company in Malibu, California. She walks us through how her team restores a $2,000 Louis Vuitton belt bag that has been slashed."
Also L V also destroy any unsold items because that way to keep them in business, my cousin mentioned this to me she screen shot an memo that a former employee sent another one.
just like apple tries to stop people from repairing their devices, all of these major corporations are greedy and evil
I’ve heard that before. These designer companies don’t want their extra products to to end up on the secondary (cheaper) market (i.e stores like TJ Maxx ) so they’d rather burn their excess inventory to keep their brands exclusive (expensive)
@@classicredwine Thanks for that and your correct about that.
Fantastic job!
Großartig, mein von Herzen kommendes Kompliment ❤
Wow what a nice save in this bag. It's a nice bag as well to. Perfect for just you're money and cards and glasses.
That ex-boyfriend seems toxic.
Seems? SEEMS? I've been there, he is for sure an abuser. They learn what's important to you and use that information against you.
Dunno why they broke up but the slashing says volumes about the type of man he was.
Hopefully in this case she wasn't cheating on him and he had bought the bag for her because...I would have probably done the same thing. However if he just did that out of spite in the heat of an argument, he's crazy af!
Awesome work
I think LV bags are crazy overpriced, but i do admire the craftmanship of this repair.
I wonder were they got the repair material? They seem to cut up some big pieces when it would seem more logical to me that they'd be using the smallest possible piece of fabric (and save the big pieces for when they have to repair a bigger bag)
The LV logos are centered so they have to put the template where the LV logo will be centered again that why they have to use a peice big enough to match the original patten exactly and as LV won't sell spare material it has to come from recycled bags thats why it looks quite wasteful but thats the only way to get an excact match.
Amazing what is possible in designer bag repair !
Imagine how insecure you must feel like to act violent because of a romantic relationship issue. Hope she is safe.
Agreed, she’s insecure for needing to have an overly expensive bag just because of the brand name. I’d say once the bag is ruined just move on because there’s more important things to retain, like your own safety. Good thing he did it to her bag and not her belly.
@@davidswanson5669 it would be even better if he didn't do it at all, and just left. But hey, now at least there is someone who actually knows what he is hiding under the mask.
@@davidswanson5669 lol people buy over priced things they like all the time. It doesn’t make them necessarily insecure.
@@lemondrop7305 well said, and I agree. I guess I was just making the same generalized point that the OP made about “insecurities”, because surely people can break other peoples’ things without it being about being insecure. I think it’s more about selfishness.
1000000$ masterful job for a bag I wouldn't give 10$.
You probably don't even have $10.
@@tobietera yeah, maybe I don't.
Come on man, this the new era,a brand name over a garbage bag will make it totally worth millions
Interesting! Question -- where do you get the authentic recycled material?
Very impressive
Looks great! So glad to have found you. How do I get in touch with you? Thanks so much!
Check the description box
Final repair cost for a $2000 bag: $1775.48.
So the ' genuine donated material' came from bags people couldnt afford to repair
And maybe also previously removed damaged canvas like how they removed the ripped portion of her bag
2000$ okay. Bought some in the 90s and later and imho i never paid prices like that high. Ok for „small“ products. Same with MCM and Mulberry and even Hermes. Belts or purses…
Looks good like it.
Asmr 🥺😩❤️
is restoring process a damaged lv will be cheaper than buying a new one? wonder if need pay more for high skilled tailor
She stated in the beginning that the bag is discontinued. So it's the owner's only option if she wants this exact bag, unless she wants to try any buy one from another person with the same bag. But, I assume it'd be harder to find one from someone else selling that exact bag from 2003 in good condition.
“Belt bag” it’s called a Fanny pack and you know it
or 'Bum Bag"
Fanny pack and belt bag are two different things.
Belt bag would be considered as a “waist bag”, as it normally goes over the shoulder and hangs crossbody. Fanny packs sit on the waist and would be more considered as a “belt” bag
Cool 😃
Cool
The Restoration was excellent. But wow, the leather for a LV bag is very thin and not much there, basically several pieces of thin leather , probably the cheap leather too, and GLUE on a 2k+ bag? Much cheaper bags with basically the same amount of leather, in terms of thickness and quality leather. i would argue some bags probably have more craftsmanship in them then LV. This video just confirms again to me why some luxury items really are just for the brand name flex
Not saying that these brand are better than you would have thought but things you said are just wrong
Pretty sure most bags are first glued before stitching. Its to hold the bag together n prevent it from moving while they do the actual stitching. Also those glues r strong, can even glued together metals.
b,ut what if the edges doesn't fit? LV has alot of symbols on their bag. When you are putting a new layer. That layer might not match with the bag.
Wow- wasn't prepared for the DV... glad he slashed the bag... jeez, he deserved to be charged
Didnt know that this lv is rare my Wife has 3-4 of them ocassionally Im using the one That got biten by dog I took the challange to refurbish it during pardemics and hapily using it Greetings from Moscow
Overpriced status symbol.
Canvas, glue and stitching. Not even leather…
Must be a profitable scam, selling luxury purses..
My stupid little brother cut up my Gucci bag and coach bags. I hate him for that, he destroyed the family bond I had with him.
After researching the history of great assets such as real estate, dividend-paying stocks, gold, oil, and other commodities, Ive come to the conclusion that most excellent assets never come down to the price you want to acquire them at. Simply get the ones you can afford right now.

I know the premise of this video is leather restoration but damaging personal items is a red flag for domestic violence. This is usually one of the earlier phases and the violence can escalate. 💜
If I can buy a Louis Vuitton anything I think I will just buy a new one.
Probably has a great significance to her that’s why she wants to restore her purse instead of buying a new one.
Sometimes the bags or discounted
She said that this bag was discontinued so it would be hard to find another one.
@@elanbentley yes but the whole business is based on repairs. I am sure they don’t just operate for these bags alone.
It's discontinued.
My girlfriend Elsa has a carry bag of this 😋💚
WHY AM I WATCHING A HANDBAG REPAIR VIDEO?! 😲
Can you show us the face of the guy who is doing the work maybe he can speak because he’s a master perfect
Who tf the camera guy, why the video is sideways ?
Idk why, but that recycled Louis-Vuitton piece looked kinda yummy.
Best way to get over her ex-boyfriend.
Ridiculous just let go and go buy yourself something new and forget about it. And believe me I have plenty of LV but it does not hold a $2000 price tag at this age of the item!! no way! What was the charge for the repair???
👛
People actually pay 2000$
So many people are wearing fake LV stuffs these days that I feel the brand will have to do something otherwise it will become like Michael Kors
Cheers from San Diego California
It's not even leather 😑
Who watch this on mute ? 😂
This material is Eco leather obe od the cheapest materials not even leather.... Not worth more then 30€... Sad
I'm sure that the ex paid for the bag, so he spitefully slashed the bag. SMDH!!!
I think they doing something good without this color n logo, or do something new, or little bit different, like creation, but no.
It's look like $3 bag.
A cut up louis Vuitton bag !, is it one of the Russian influenzer bags (Russian influenzers where cutting up their european expensive bags, due to their ban of Russia, maybe the boyfriend issue was just an excuse 🤣🤣)
Well if companies are going to be racist or nationalist, I don't blame them for cutting up their bags.
@@juangalton999 I agree. And Russian influencers are rich enough to replace these foreign bags with Russian made expensive ones.
LV bags are trash, they're not even made of real leather yet they cost thousands of dollars
Feels good when you see a hardly a $20 bag costs around $2000 in the name of LV but that doesn't stop it from being slashed.
BTW come to India and I'll manage you same quality bag with same quality craftsmanship within $10
Lol the cost of the flight she we need to take to India and her stay wouldn’t be worth it
2000 for that. What a waste of money, it’s literally a few bits of material. 2000 for a badge
If someone wants to spend who cares?
It’s amazing to me how that ugly bag has value simply because of its brand. There is quite literally nothing special about that bag whatsoever
Refurbish never will be original.
first
thank god he's an ex-boyfriend... hope she's okay
It's a god damn fanny pack and you know it!!
Any chance of getting back to things that are actually interesting?
I also daily cut my bags to show the peasants how rich I am.
2000 dollars. People are idiots.
It's a stupid bag
Ridiculous and overpriced
.... dude it's not even high quality leather.... people that wear these things only confirm to the world that they are cash cattle.
$2k for that crap?....... What a waste.
Although I bought my mom a big LV purse when I was in Paris in 1988.
She still had it and had it rehabbed y LV a few years ago. Looks brand new
I see how it’s so easy to make bootleg Louis Vuitton bags. They look cheap and easy to recreate.
2 grand on a cavas bag? Nonsense
So in other words don't cut it burn it.
Sloppy
Material of the bag looks cheap. I don’t get these overhyped luxury brands
1. Why was this video taken vertically?
2. WHY DIDN'T THE EDITOR JUST KEEP THE VIDEOS IN ONE ORIENTATION
Seriously gave me vertigo. Poor quality
If a video gives you vertigo then that's a you problem.
And why was the camera so tilted lmao?
The ExBoyfriend probably bought the bag.
Stop speculating so you can push your weird little narrative.
Doesn't make it any less petty.
The video is making me dizzy😓
Shes back with the ex boyfriend😊

Sounds about right.
Our species is stupid people who only care about themselves. This comment section is a very good representation of us. I know nothing of these bags, I honestly have no concern for such things, but I got to see in real time just how shitty we are and granted I have known humans are terrible for a long, long time but it was just interesting to see it in real time.
Very impressive repair though, I was surprised at the staples but now I understand.
I agree !!!
Damn. Another restoration another sweatshop slave gets disowned and starve to death .
Imagine all these resources, the time, money, and skill wasted to repair something so ugly.
Tax the rich FFS.
My common sense would urge me to invest my money in something else.
Imagine what she did to his car 😂
love how they purposely cut up that purse to then make video on restoring it lol
Er, what!??
The owner must have done some dirt to warrant a purse slashing lol
Actually a very ugly bag.
Before and after.
