    What he says is right on. My wife and I (in our mid 70's) each have an Outback and just love them. Very stable, easy to pedal and manuever. So adaptive to whatever activity we can dream up. The drive system is so much easier than a paddle. Seat is great. The SUV of kayaks. Good review!

    Great overview of the Hobie outback. I have one that I mostly use for Ocean Fishing, and I can say that it is also great for inshore ocean fishing and crabbing.

      Thanks - maybe one day I'll do some saltwater angling in it! But it's been great for my rivers and lakes too.

    What a wonderful thorough overview! Hard to beat that hobie seat for sure. Feature-packed yak that doesn’t need much. I appreciate you fishing it as is for a period before going crazy with the accessories. Looking forward to what sort of jewelry you outfit her with. Keep it up. -Marc

      Thanks Marc. Like all my reviews, I wanted to test it out as is for a while before making a decision. :)

    My hull cracked, and I’d still buy a Hobie Outback. It’s perfect for my style of bass fishing.

      Sorry to hear about the hull crack - but yeah - i haven't been wishing I had a different kayak.

    It's a nice between kayak for those that don't need the size and weight of the PA but want more capability than the Revolution or Lynx. I don't need that much capability so I recently picked up the easy to carry, or maneuver, Lynx.

    Thank you for another very informative video. Job well done! I too have the Wilderness cart that works very well with my Unlimited. Like your Hobie, it to is a heavy boat. I also purchased a Dynamic Dolly cart (somewhat salty$$) that can be launched with the adapter as if it is a tow behind trailer. Some of these yaks today start out heavy and get heavier after they are rigged and loaded. I believe my next kayak might be a Hobie Lynx (in a few years). It's half the weight of what we have now and I'm not getting any younger,

      Yep - I'm seriously considering adding an inflatable SUP to use in really skinny water and tough access points. I enjoy the Outback, but sometimes it's just a bit too much.

    Glad that boat is working out for you. Looking forward to your review of the new fishband reel. I am also considering buying the insta360 and was curious what you thought of it so far.

      Definitely like the Insta 360 - probably need to do a review on that soon too! :)

    Man... I think if I was near more lakes or the ocean, this would be the ticket.

      It's been awesome on the lakes, and I know a lot of guys use it in the coastal areas too. I've been very happy with it overall.

    Such an excellent review! I have a Pa12 and my local shop just put a bunch of outbacks on sale gonna have to pick one up. What year is you Outback?

      2021. Same deal - bought it on sale.

      Hobie's splash sale is going on to the end of Sept. I bought my Lynx during the sale. Surely, Hobie will go up $300 or more for 2024 models.

    • @AaronHuntFishing
      @AaronHuntFishing  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes indeed. Gradually starting to add accessories. But it fished well as is for the first year.

    Best all around lake kayak for sure. Rivers, no. No pedal drive kayak is going to be great on rivers. I've never used the reverse feature on any of my Hobie kayaks.

      Might depend on your definition of rivers - I have a lot of wide, slow rivers. But overall I've been happy.

    How much did you pay for the outback?

    • @AaronHuntFishing
      @AaronHuntFishing  11 месяцев назад

      $2750... Hobie might have a fall sale going on right now.

    Agreed the biggest drawback is the non instant reverse. Other than that it’s a 5 star kayak and it’s really fast
