Problem is a lot of people who use the sex in game cause rape argument, also agree with the violence in game cause violence. Look at Josh macintosh and shit. Look at polygon, Kotaku and all this shit.
Thing is, the violence debate has long been won. We not only have popular opinion on our side, but the actual research to prove it :P. By doing this, we are forcing them into an arena where we have the advantage.

Yes, some of them may be permanently lost, and will eventually commit suicide by cop, but most of them can be cured. Maybe not by you, but then by the next person. I said that it didn't belong in my comment, because it had nothing to do with the video. I was going off on a tangent that came from the first two parts. It was about how the government should have no say in your love life, i.e. marriage shouldn't be a legal institution for the government to be involved in and if you wanted to get married, it should be as simple as "pa-foomph" you're married. There was a lot more to my point, but again, I'm going off on a tangent.

It's pretty damning how similar the game censorship and gun control arguments are. Crime is down, even though gun ownership and violent video games are up. Yes, not necessarily causation, but the emotional arguments without basis in reality are tiresome. If no actual violence is being committed, if no victim exists...there isn't a problem. You might appropriate the linked video. It presents evidence that people who deny science do not usually change their minds when presented with evidence. Their emotions are the problem. If someone ties their identity to a belief they will not change it unless they can be convinced changing their belief is no longer a threat to their identity. I think this is true of all beliefs not just scientific ones, including the belief that censorship is good. To change people's minds on that, we need to hit their feels.
That said, the people who are invested to that point in an idea may be unreachable or not worth reaching.

In my own experience, everything that you said here is true. Especially how they have no counter argument to make and will try desperately to change the subject. Crime is on the rise in a couple of major US cities recently, but it's generally true that no correlation has been established between violent video games and violent crime. That being the case, social justice is also concerned with psychological violence, and they would try to make the case that the content itself - sexual or banal violence or what have you - traumatizes women and minorities and those with various pre-existing psychological conditions. They can bypass the 'no correlation' counterargument this way and you have to rethink strategy. I think it's clear that freedom of expression is valued above psychological comfort by quite a large degree in the Law of the Land, at least in the US. Canada and Europe are probably screwed.

I find it's always useful to have a few statistics together with their sources at my fingertips, to be brought into play during any argument. The chances are that the opposition won't be able to quote any statistics, so it means I'm at least one up on them. The comparison to the violence if games and music stuff is good, but there are a few things I think should be added.
-Don't deny anything. This sounds weird, but if you go on a lengthy rant about how you're not a misogynist, not a rapist, not whatever else, it makes you look bad. "Oh, I'm not a misogynist or a rapist. Yes, there are a few, but those are the minority, and besides, my anime porn collection has nothing to do with that!" ...is not convincing. Keep them focused on the issues. (Look up "Uncle Kage's Furries and the Media" panel for more on this.)
-Don't use a bunch of memes and in jokes. You might know where a specific phrase or meme comes from, but to those not in the loop don't. The people who get said memes likely already agree with you anyway.
-They have some stock answers for the points you bring up about the lower rape rates in Japan, as well as the difference between violence and sex. ...they aren't good answers, but are still answers that could answer those who don't follow this stuff.
-Finally, don't let them forget. If they complain about, say, a backlash damaging someone's reputation, bring up people that were falsely accused, lost their job, etc. Don't spam links. A few at a time will do. If you plan to be arguing on the internet a lot, keep a txt file or book marks with the appropriate links.
Yeah, give them links one at a time. Give them the first one, and when they say "HURRR you found ONE example, how cute!", that's the cue to bring out the next 2. And keep adding to the pile :P

However I would disagree that a virtue create problems in and of itself. The problem is in trying to force people to be virtuous. Virtue is a very powerful word meaning that you might have done X in the past since Y time you've entirely stopped doing it. So knowing that it should come as no surprise that even for someone with incredible willpower it takes real effort on a very long time to reach complete honesty for example...To think you can force people into virtue is tyrannical in and of itself so not only has it 0% of success it will also invariably make people get closer to the other extreme AND it create a paradox where the "virtuous" ones are being wicked...Oh the irony....
