Good topic. The prices of some basic grocery where I live are increasing very time I visit supermarkets. I was lucky enough to tour most parts of Italy a long time ago. With the cost of living crisis globally, I won't be able to afford the same tour now. Italy is so beautiful and very religious country. Most importantly, Italian are very friendly. I will definitely visit Italy again in the future.🥰🥰🥰
We were in Rome, Florence once. We will definitely visit Milan one day and Italy again! Some much to experience and explore in one of the four greatest cultures in human history!
Rachele should have asked the Malaysians what it was like in their country. The guy from Côte d'Ivoire was right - it's affecting everyone all over the world (except perhaps Russia and China!).
Rachele, what a small world, you found some random Chinese and they turned out to be my fellow Malaysians! Eating out in Malaysia has gone up but the current durian season has seen prices plummeting. Malaysia is facing a severe shortage of low-skilled workers in the plantation, construction and industrial sectors which are normally filled by workers from neighboring countries. Happy New Year 2023.
I just returned from Malacca and Kuala Lumpur, checked on the prices of foods out of coffee shops for locals and tourist cafe as well as Restaurants, my conclusion is Malaysia is still affordable compared to SG.

I think one of the problems is that Italian use euro as the currency, so monetary policy cannot be adjusted based on the current inflation situation in Italy. Keeping very low interest rate will make the inflation very difficult to control. Fortunately, it seems that there is no 'wage-price' spiral issue in Italy right now. Like Rachele's dad said, cost of living crisis only impact people with middle and low income. That's the reason why that lady said many people complain about the price but luxury hotels are still booked pretty full very quickly.

Is a Chicken and Egg issue, if the salary is raised sharply, the cost of merchandise will raise accordingly! the inflation is not a European or US or Africa issue, it is in the beginning supply chain issue when Covid start opening up, demand is up but supply haven't been able to keep up, then of course the invasion of Russia which make energy cost much higher worldwide unless you are the few country that care more about saving money then doing what's right for humanity! India? China? Opec? anyway, it is what it is! Happy 2023 hopefully!

Little impact on Malaysia. Our petrol and gas prices are fixed and most essentials are price controlled.

造成欧洲高通胀不是俄乌冲突，是美国加息和卖高价能源双管齐下。后面生产采购物价等成本推高导致出口商品失去竞争力是必然，工业也会容易出逃。所以俄乌越快停战欧洲越能止血，或者直接绕开美国单边制裁法律购买伊朗低价天然气石油就是个大血包。以上两点都不出现欧洲会一直通胀下去。
