always interesting with a entertaining delivery. your house was built the same year i was born. i'm from the bronx and when people comment on my ny accent, my response is the same.
Awesome video!! It's great that you are so knowledgeable in dealing with home improvements. You are a hard worker, and you save yourself a lot of money being able to do things yourself. I look forward to seeing your next video. Take care and stay warm.
I started watching your videos just recently when you moved house. Been enjoying them. Hope your doing ok... Best wishes for the New Year. Hope 2025 is good for you.
Great video mate, good that you changed out all those switches. Here in Australia homeowners can't do their own electrical at all, it's incredibly frustrating. If we do our own wiring and something happens insurance will deny all claims if they find out.
In BC, You don't need an electrical permit for minor electrical work, such as replacing defective fuses, receptacles, switches, or bulbs with units of similar type and rating. But in my experience you can't do anything at all in a townhouse or other attached type home. But Detached you can do minor repairs.
I can change out electrical switches, outlets and change light fixtures, can’t or won’t do anything with a breaker box. I’m a 72 year old woman and had rentals. I knew usually where the problem was, you have to learn or you get cheated! Ha. You seem happy with all your projects planned. There is always something to do.👍🏻 NW Oregon sub🇺🇸
Hey, love your videos, it’s fun to watch you as you figure out your new place. Where did you get those solar lights that you put on the shed outback. Can’t wait to see you get the generator going Cheers!!
I found it interesting that the switches were made in England. I wonder if you traced your homes' history back to the original builder, that possibly some clues regarding the switches would surface? Anyway, another great video! Thank You for sharing with us😊
Sadly, the original builder has long passed. Some of the neighbours knew the family that lived here for decades, but nobody really knows too much about what went into the construction of it. Thanks for watching.
Well, I smoked for almost 40 years. I quit about 12 years ago but permanent damage has been done. I probably need to move the microphone further away from my mouth so it's not as noticeable. I have noticed the breathing when I'm editing my videos but it's impossible to remove all of it. I'll work on that.. Sorry for the distraction.
Super interesting that those switches were made in England. I wasn't expecting that. I'm curious to know what the temperatures have been like up there and what special preparations you will have to do before winter. Do most folks there keep generators on hand?
Temperatures have been right around freezing for the last week. I guess everyone has their own ritual for getting ready for winter. I haven't been up here for a winter yet so I'm expecting the worst. Some locals say that we're in the banana belt of the region and some remember the winter of 78 where we got 5 feet of snow and everyone was trapped for weeks... and everything in between. So I'm just going to have to wait and see... "Come on global warming"... But I digress. I tilled my gardens and stocked up on firewood. Loaded up the freezer and the pantry. Dug out the woolies and thick socks. Yes, to the generators. All the power lines are above ground here so they tend to take a beating in the winter.. with cars sliding into poles and trees heavy with snow falling on the lines. It's a good idea to have a generator handy. A wood burning stove doesn't hurt either. Thanks for watching. Have a safe winter.
Awesome video! What’s your power bills like out there in BC, I’m in Alberta have a small 1200sq ft home with natural gas heating, and just got a $500 power bill!😳 can’t afford this place for long without going broke!
I’ve only been here a month and a bit but so far my hydro is $65 a month. I heat with wood and we don’t even have gas out here. I did my research. I could’ve bought a really cheap place in Smoky Lake, but I found out that the gas was really expensive so bought this place instead . Good luck out there
@ wow heard hydro was reasonably out there, hydro prices are out of control here my highest bill last winter was $800! Can’t afford to live here anymore! Thanks love your channel 👍

I know nothing about electricals. Your commentary makes it entertaining, and I love your accent 😊
And your property is lovely 😍
Thank for watching... I have an accent?

Wow, thank you so much. Every little bit helps. I moved to central British Columbia, Canada.
Getting sorted bud. Thanks for sharing and keep 'em coming.
Working on it, thanks for watching.

No electrical or gas if not qualified in the UK. Not worth it.

Its coming together
Slowly but slowly..
I’m eager to see your next upload but I just wanted to ask, what’s with the breathing?

You are a handy guy to know.😊
Thanks.
My husband has worked on many older homes and he thinks they are a Bakelite product which was invented in England.
