Unless you let the oil drain out for 24 hours BMW calls for however 6.5 quarts as there is about .4 quarts left coated on walls. Putting in 7 quarts after draining for 15 minutes is gonna put you over about half a quart but that may be tolerable...not sure
@@johnnie232 I do mine at 6000 miles and use Mann filters which are very robust. I haven't had one break yet, however some brands of filter are very poor. The Blue print one which I bought didn't even have the central tube attached to the end piece so would've broken as it was being fitted.
Depending on where you live it changes. If you have rought winters 0w20 on winter is recommended, you xan go 0w30 or 0w40 on summer.. but 0w30 isperfect
Love the way he shows his smashed, bleeding knuckles all very realistic 😂😂
Ramps, I like ramps. No jack, no jack stands. Thanks for the vid.
but always fill to 1/4 of a quart low to allow residual oil to compensate. This prevent excess internal hydraulic pressures.
Thanks for the video!, I recently picked up my f33 and wasnt sure how to change the oil on this one. I used to do my own on my e92.
I just did my first oil change ever bc of this video 😁 thanks!

Brilliant video, thank-you
Jsut changed my m240 oil thanks for the help
Thanks for watching!!
Maybe because you live in a hotter environment but everywhere I’ve checked, people recommend 0-20/0-30 oil for the m240i
Many thanks for this, much appreciated.
Great vid! Thank you
You need to tighten both bolts down oil filter and the oil cap to 25 N meters
no one gonna say how hilarious this bit is?

It was really nonchalant no one noticed hahaha
I thought it was great haha

There’s no dipstick in bmws?
Its 6,9 us quarts, because in its a german motor and its made in europe using 6,5 liters.. 7quarts is 6,6liters, bit too much bro
Thank you!
Would this be same for 2021 m240i
Yep
Bmw say 6.9 I'm just using 7😂
The oil filters on these are a poor design and have a habit of falling apart when the housing cap is removed.
Just if you leave the oil too long in the engine. You should change it every 10-15tkm.

I like to keep my engine clean
The proper oil grade for this car is 0w20 not 40 and it’s 6.5 litre.
It's not a requirement just a suggestion. Different weight suggested for all temps and weather. No one all end all.
As long as it's LL1 you are okay with 40
6.9 quarts = 6.53 liters so you're both correct. 8-). Amsoil website says torque spec on drain plug is 18ft lbs but I'm not a mechanic.
do you know if its the same for a 440 F33?
