They lied to you, is the bottom line. You are not over-reacting. Being on social media is irrelevant. Everybody is. It's your money. You own a warrantee on this car. Don't be bullied by the dealer, who like most, are trained to avoid warrantee claims like the plague. It's part of Toyota's customer service. They are so big, they are and consider themselves, untouchable. Get it fixed, and report the outcome. We are interested. We are also Toyota customers, and your pain, helps us.
Well said Andrew. Harry TBQH if all of my customer's were as open and honest as you have been let alone not hitting your emotional redline from the get go my life would be so much easier! A little more integrity would have gone a long way on behalf of a certain maintenance department as the codes you describe are logged. they do not simply become invisible when the dealer plugs in they are pretty damn obvious!! Unfortunately you tend to be in the hands of individuals who do not wish to deal with 'curly' problems and are very good in the art of 'deflection'. I spent many years in various WA dealerships to get a certain 'feeling' for the way things are done. Your experience is heavily dependant on the service staff and service manager at that dealership obviously.... who may not necessarily see your investment in their brand with quite the priority you would expect.. Cheers
@@rodgie5754 Not as far as I know, but I have to do over 100km to get it to throw the codes, so I'm happier with them not taking my car for a 200km+ trip at high speeds to be honest.
As someone who just put down a deposit and signed the dotted line for a 21 Prado who will be using the car immediately and extensively for travels around AU, your honesty and transparency is extremely appreciated.
For the record, I'm still extremely happy with my purchase and the car is going really well. It's very normal for a new product to have a hiccup when it's released. This is my attempt at being completely open about everything that happens.
It's a shame you only got one dealership option there. Some dealerships are far less caring & trustworthy than others. I don't think you are being over the top they should have just been honest from the start. Trust is hard to build and I doubt you'd ever trust that dealership again. At least in Perth you got 6+ options...
I've spent 20 plus years dancing around the periphery of the car industry as an engineer and product designer, you're 100% not overreacting. It takes the auto industry take an age to respond to issues, and the trickle-down to dealers is ridiculously slow - no matter the company. Usually, it takes a motivated consumer (You) to make dealers actually look deep to their service recommendations to get dealers on board. You calling this out hopefully will help the next person coming through that dealer's door have a better experience.
Yep. New cars have so many sensors there is bound to be a problem somewhere in the future and you will be scammed by the dealership to pay thousands to fix it.
Hahaha for the record, nothing actually happens when you hit one, it just lets you know the radar isn’t working until you clean it, but the car works perfectly and you just use normal cruise control, not radar cruise
@@firetofork It's alright I own a Prado the 80 series was a joke. But it's a 120, I had a VF SV6 and I hated the newer tech, especially the reverse noises.
In the states this is pretty much how every OEM dealer behaves. There are the few who behave differently but odds are this is what you get. I would just offer the advice of not being coy next time and tell the dealer you know the codes and demand action right from the get go. The longer they lie they feel invested to double down on the lie. Best to confront the lie sooner and press for action and results.
If your dealer is brushing of an oil pressure fault, would they come to the party with a recovery from the back of kununurra cos your engine has blown due to poor pressure.. Contact Toyota Aust with your concerns, at least the fault should be on the cars record then. Its a major safety issue in the top end, getting stranded due poor maintenance could be life threatening.
Thank you for being completely honest with us mate, it sounds like you gave the dealer all the best opportunity to be honest with you and they didn't get the hint. You live in the sticks where oil pressure is vital, you can't just catch an uber back to town when the truck stops working for any unknown reason. cheers and thanks again, Pete
Firstly, loving the rig. 2nd, Good on you for putting up your grievance toward the dealer mate. The dpf issue started the same way and look where that is now.
Love your authenticity mate. That's what makes your channel my absolute favourite. Didn't overreact. They are just full of bullshit. I have a Prado and absolutely love it...
Good video mate. I don't feel you are overreacting. We build a ton of them and feel you are going about it the right way. Liking the new series so far, and congrats on the new wheels.
Enjoying the RUclips vids. Dont know if this will make you feel better, I have a 2018 Fortuner. I replaced the factory reverse globes with a well known LED globe. One shorted out. Put my gearbox into a fault mode. Took it to the dealer and it cost me $400. They romved the LED globes and put the orginal type back. Fixed the problem. Expensive lesson.
Hey mate, you have probably sorted it by now but I look after a large amount of fleet for the rental company I work for and we recently had 4 brand new Prado’s go into Limp literally almost all at the same time whilst out on rent. We trucked them back to the dealer and turns out it was throwing the low oil pressure code, this was due to the fact the engine oil that was put in them from factory was wrong (there was a bulletin about this), because the viscosity of the oil was a lot thinner it wasn’t running at the correct pressure. The sensor picked this up and of course causes all the other lights to come up and go into “limp mode” once the oil was changed they were perfect. maybe a total different issue but if you haven’t sorted it already may be worth looking into, cheers Josh
I had a big drama with my first 200 ... the oil guzzler.. The Wagga Wagga dealer didn’t want a bar of it .. but I when to moved town to Coffs Harbour and took the 200 to them and explained my drama with the excessive oil use they were happy to fix the problem... even with 90,000 km on the clock .. the oil return in the sump ....l so it pays to be persistent. ... good work Harry
Your not Over reacting. They need to fix the problem. They just have no idea and think everyone is stupid. I own a 2011 Prado V6 and serviced myself from new because over the years, Ive realised that dealerships only replace and the knowledge in repairing has been lost. Make sure you service that transmission, they say its sealed unit and doesn't need it. Call up head office, thats what I usually do. Good luck
Definitely not over reacting Harry, good on you for being smart with code scanner and challenging the dealership. Honesty is the best policy, its what makes your channel and your Prado series build so successful. Keep up the awesome work.
After dealing with Toyota dealerships with my new hilux having DPF issues I have 0 faith in Toyota’s new car warranties. They will weasel their way out of anything.
aren''t dealerships franchises? you get shit ones and less shit ones. I got my dpf replaced by my dealership out of warranty and i didn't really even want to do it because there wasn't anything wrong with the first one. I've also modified my exhaust (dpf back) which I'm assuming they would have used as an excuse to get out of it. tbh I think the dealership probably just charged toyota the 5 hrs or whatever it took to replace the dpf, so it's free money for them. Probably why they were proactive about it.
That was a roller-coaster of emotions, every new product Harry brought up I was like "Is this the one!?!" Great video covered a lot of ground, can tell you're pouring your heart and soul into the car and doing your research. I was surprised about Supafit, will definitely check them out . cheers
Very nicely put together Harry, I think we have all had struggles with Toyota dealers over the years, and much of the reason I don't use them any more to service my car.
I was shocked how quiet it was Andrew, genuinely shocked. I couldn’t hear it at all until I put maxtrax up there (my lord, do they whistle!!- that’s why they are in a bag now)
Hi Harry .honesty is the best thing even if it hurts some people they should have thort about that before they lied an palmed you off . Great show great prado
Harry we’re so sorry that this happened to you multiple times. Its wrong in every aspect of what that dealership did to you. Its happening everywhere and something really needs to stop these people that feel its ok ... its not! They need to be held accountable. 😡
You absolutely are not pushing too hard Harry, under Australian law they have a legal responsibility to fix it. If you have any doubts get in touch with the ACCC. They will advise you correctly! Good luck getting it sorted!
My (here is the sour taste for Aussie 4wheelers word) Mitsubishi dealer has been nothing but helpful with our MR Triton that we've extensively modified on the aftermarket. We had a '4wd system service required' code come up for after some aftermarket installs. They took it in, cleared it, checked then installs and gave it back. The issue hasn't returned. No issue with mods for them. Great service.
Wife works for Toyota dealership , oil pressure problems with new parados , very common , all new vehicles in stock are getting different grade oil put In them before they are driven
And they got some legit great gear. My mate's Thumper Max is about 30% faster at filing tyres than my $400 TJM vehicle mount air compressor. Mine's way more compact and can run an airlocker but still very impressive.
@@DaveXL495 my thumper has burned out a battery fuze from airing up, leaving me stranded until i could bypass the fuze with some wire from my sub. Never had an issue with other compressors. And thumper is the same price as most other compressors. Id rather wait a bit longer and not blow fuzes. Kings are cheap crap and you always pay for it in the long run.
PLUS - They have made the BIG Boys @ the BIg end of Town be a little bit more realistic with their prices of the gear that they sell too... which is a good thing
@@elrud5964 Yep. It pulls 90A to get where it's going. Both mine and my mate's cars are set up to run 120A to the rear drawers. As long as you know it's fine. Edit: for comparison my TJM unit pulls less than 40A
I guess it is easy to bag Kings when you have the money to buy top end gear but many of us don't and we rely on Kings, Aldi, Supercheap etc. to help get us out there. We use plenty of the cheap gear and yes, some is total crap but a surprising number of things are actually pretty good, especially some of the Aldi gear. The one area I do try not to buy low end is electronics, for that I try to stick with Redac, Ctek and better regarded brands. They are far too expensive but if I really want to make sure there are no hassles, I just have to spend the $$$.
I used to be a mechanic.. I dread taking my car anywhere for the things I can't do at home.. Hat off to you for being informed and educated about your own car.. Less likely to be taken for a fool!!!!
Love the video mate. Not overreacting at all and by the sounds of it you conducted yourself extremely well, especially considering you gave them MULTIPLE chances to be open and honest with you, which they weren't.
Absolutely mate, spot on! I've got a Nissan Patrol Y62 and have gone through headaches like you trying to explain that it's blown a shock.....it's got a "linked " system where all the shocks are all hydraulically balanced. Had to take it back 4 times before they even acknowledged that there WAS a problem.
If your car's playing up brand new or not and the place your taking it to repair and your gut feeling is they aren't doing they job you want fixed and your paying/payed money to get it fixed, keep on pushing but even more if it's brand new.
I 100% agree with Andrew. These, using expletives, dealerships and companies are a real shame and its disappointing. I hope you read my comment because the best person many people know is Anthony from Fourby4diesel. He's based in Melbourne but helps people all around Australia and work almost exclusively on Prado's. You will have to take my word for it but he knows his ..... Good luck mate
Loving your channel mate keep up the great work! I have a 2019 Prado GXL and that bloody message came up on the tracks up at Shark Bay. Tried everything back at camp, cleaned the sensors, cleaned the cams, disconnected battery etc... all to no avail. Nine hours back to Perth is a long bloody drive without cruise but more annoying is that you can't override the message or switch it off in order to use your dash info screen so you're left with the analogue speedo and tacho and a bloody orange caution light flickering away in the corner of your eye the whole time. Pretty sure the crash avoidance & ESC system had also disabled. Still under warranty and the dealer sorted it no charge (radar sensor they said!) but a right PITA to be sure. Needs an override and/or only come up every half hour or so as a reminder, not shut your whole info system down.
FYI. My 2018 GXL just went ballistic with all the messages, DPF warning, check engine crash avoidance off and limp mode. Researching on pradopoint I found an article suggesting low oil pressure. That was a bit weird but I just had the car serviced at a toyota dealer a week prior. anyhow to cut a long story short I checked my invoice for the service and sure enough they had put the wrong oil in my car. You are perfectly correct in the way you dealt with the dealership. Luckily you had knowledge of the fault codes. First of all if you could have took it to another dealership and compared the two results. Is there an independent complaint authority in your country to report the dealership to. That is why people take there vehicles to a independent garage. But if you have a new car the dealership has the monopoly .
I'm all for jokes. The shop might be a shit hole but most of their products are good value if you can't afford the premium gear your used to using. Kings has enabled me to get my family out camping on a low income.
Most Kings gear is just fine. Too many yuppy posers out there now with shiny 4b's, ventilated seats and gold rims who look down on the average bloke in his white ute.
Your not overreacting good onya for standing your ground, the fact that after your pushing they finally said yeah it’s a ecu issue you can rest a bit knowing you were right. I’ve never had a brand new car and I probably won’t knowing the issues that people have with dealerships. Love all your vids btw
Mate thanks for being honest! It’s this type of thing that will make dealerships more accountable and not bullshit the average joe. Having said that there are good dealerships out there and we should hear about them more so they get our business! Cheers once again. Great vid.
Your not overreacting Harry. New car Dealerships that have monopolies in smaller towns, in my experience are dishonnest and untrustworthy!! I hope it works itself out for you fella. We really love ya channel mate, its made our camp and home cooking so much better:D Cheers Harry
Well done for standing up to the bullies, i have had the experts telling me I am wrong when in the end I was proved right, Keep up the honest interaction with your you tube followers that is why I so enjoy Fire to Fork
At 86dB in the 80 series you'll exceed Australian guidelines for daily exposure in less than 8 hours (and start to damage your hearing permanently). BTW its a log scale, so +10 dB is the level of twice the perceived volume.
My Prado is on order and been following this problem for a while. I’m not even that worried about this oil pressure parameter issue. What I am worried about and hate hearing about is dealers in this day and age STILL trying to spin these issues as nothing. That bumper issue is a real red flag and tells me you should find a new dealer for servicing. They just saw the $$$ and an easy way to fob you off. Absolutely outrageous behavior. Thanks for getting this issue out there for the rest of us.
I am 100% with you, I am a mechanic and I have done the same thing with Toyota dealers they are not there in your interest, I would steer well clear of them and get a good local registered Mechanic, I service my Prado myself for this specific reason. Good on you for calling them out publicly, p.s don’t go to midland Toyota either
These type of accounts are exactly why I still drive a 1992 80 series Landcruiser. In the 20 years I have owned it I have never been anywhere near a dealership or a mechanic, I do it all myself and am proud of it. The number of people who have said "Ah an 80 series, I used to have one of those, Should have never sold it".
Love the videos Harry both cooking and the build. Thank you for being honest about the prado. Dealer ships need to be held responsible for there actions as you here to many case of people being ignored and lied to. I feel you have done nothing wrong by making them aware the it will be on RUclips and keeping pressure on them
Definately no over reacting mate it was the problem with my vx aswell wrong parameters for the oil pressure. Good job on keeping onto the dealers to keep them honest instead of always ripping people off. Good video thats for the info 👍
Thanks for the video Harry and bringing to attention the Prado's problems. Many people are influenced by your purchase of the new car and some may have bought or want to buy a Prado after seeing your videos. We all definitely want to know everything that happens with it, good and bad. So thank you mate.
Once again loving the build and the very well thought out nature of everything you’re doing to it. As for the fault I don’t think you’re overreacting at, dealers pull this “oh we’ve never heard of that before” crap all the time. Very frustrating.
I’d be tempted to get them to put it in writing what they say and that it’s “no issue” just incase something does happen. You have proof. A lot of time I’ve asked for things on writing as that shouldn’t be an issue if it’s true, they turn around and say we will have another look at it and it’s sorted.
I have had two very different experiences with dealerships and warranty claims. I had purchased a 2017 Dmax new which had many issues that were known and common through to isolated issues of my own. Anyway, I was lucky enough that the service manager was a genuine bloke and did everything in his power to push warranty claims quickly. He pushed and approved 8 seperate warranty claims without issue. Once he left that company I was left with a new servicing manager. Who continued to spill the standard dealership rubbish. The blame game started with accessories and at one point they told me that they had fixed an issue too many times and would no longer cover it. Anyway, my point being is that they can be so hot and miss with the way they go about warranty’s.
such a pity to hear about how official dealers handle their customers, good one ya for putting it out there, it makes all aware the we have to push for the truth and not trust blindly... and have a scanner. Cheers for the vid
Ha, I'd be pissed as well! For the record though, I owned a Prado for 7 yrs. East coast to the Kimberly 3 times, Each through the Tanami/Plenty highway. High country numerous times, Fraser, Moreton a few times etc etc.. towing as well. Apart from a few dirty radar sensor messages, Didn't miss a beat. As long as you look after it and stay on top of servicing you're in good hands! Unfortunately in Broome you don't have much choice with dealers and servicing. Pradopoint is also a good forum to be in! Love the truck!
It’s most definitely a safety issue as a seized motor has many potential consequences. Mechanics have a duty of care and can be held accountable for ignoring or allowing a vehicle to continue with a known problem. This is clearly a known problem! Good luck and keep up the great work. I love trying your recipes and techniques 😋🍺🤔🔥2🍴🤣
I know of 10+ people who were sold unroadworthy cars, they have a dodgy who does the certificates and you get lemons. Private sale is far better because the roadworthy check is proper. However this is speaking for QLD i have no idea how WA works.
Not all dealerships. My experience with Suzuki has been exceptional. They took me out for breakfast when I bought my car, and saved my butt on a road trip when a non-suzuki mechanic installed the wrong sized aftermarket oil filter leaving me stranded (not just the mechanics fault, as Ryco had misadvertised it, but it was obviously too big). I think if you go with one of the bigger companies then they don't really care because they see themselves as too big to fail maybe? Just speculation who really knows.
Whats with bashing cheap stuff(kings). We all have to start somewhere and the cheap stuff(kings, supercheap, autobarn and more out there) help when there is not a lot of money left after you purchased your car/truck.First it was Ronnie now you, really you guys might have deep pockets but not everyone has.Anyway hope your car gets fixed, looks like a quality brand has let you down.
You mentioned the pits and being legal. Silly question if I may, but haven’t you got a 2” lift and larger tyres hence are over the maximum 2” lift for WA? Just keen to know the details. Does the GVM upgrade also comes with the engineering to certify that increased lift?
I recon you’ve got every right to be pissed off you’ve just bought a new car and there’s something wrong with it and there bullshiting you about what’s wrong with it I’d be pissed off as well
I feel for you champ🍻 they blatantly lied to you and tried to brush you off. You aren’t over reacting. After the long known issue with Hilux air box sealing issues and the way Toyota tried to hide it I couldn’t trust the brand and bought a new DMax instead.
It is a known issue, but it's trying to be kept quiet by Toyota. When the car is realised from japan the temperature sensors are set to meet Japan's climate, not the Australian climate. Throwing the car into a fit. The reason it happens on cruise control has to do with how cruise control works. To temporarily fix, use a higher viscosity oil. A new update will be realised late January to fix this issue. All will be okay!
Wow that’s so disappointing! My partner and I are days away from ordering a VX but will be doing some more research as a result of this. Not so concerned with the issue but more the fact they don’t want to fix it.
You are absolutely right to be frustrated with the response of the dealership - they lied to your face and then still did know enough about their own product and brand bulletins to fix your problem - in effect they told you a problem it is evident Toyota had already identified did not exist. I am also interested that even a brand new and mighty Toyota experienced an issue and threw codes pretty soon after leaving the dealership for the first time..... maybe this sort of issue is not confined to those terrible and so obviously rubbish new Defenders after all.....
Gday Harry. Broome Toyota hasn't changed since '96.. All i can suggest is go out bush and drive it like it is advertised to do . Let the oil pressure issue manifest it's self .. if there is a problem.. then tell them to replace said car with all the great fruit you have added. Being up north the dealer ship is making squillions off government contracts with communities etc so they are well versed in fobbing issues off and stinging us for repairs {sorry got a bit passionate there}. Love your series and old Fred having a field day with the bugs.. Stay safe mate
I do like the color and kit you have installed. The whole thing flows very well. [ a little envious ]. now on to the last issue. As I don't work at a dealership, But I do now, and have worked in the Auto repair industry for 20+ years. The manufacturers do not like to admit fault. They are known for charging for un needed services [here in the US] all the time. The fact that they had a TSB and did not inform you sooner is very concerning. Find a good shop that has access to dealer recall and Service bulletin info. Good luck and keep on cooking
You are being very fair about the whole process............ I watch with interest on numerous other channels that Toyota dealerships have a history of not accepting liability for known issues........this is just another one. For clarity, I have no vested interest as I own a different brand of vehicle.
Thanks for the videos, you have paid a lot of money for this car and it is not fit for purpose pure and simple. Consumer protection law in Australia requires Toyota to repair it. I am keen to hear the outcome because I am on the verge of buying a new vehicle and the Prado VX was/is at the top of my list...keep up the pressure, you have paid for better customer service than has been provided.
You are right, you should look for toyota owners groups on the web and ask your questions, funny how fast the manufacture will reach out of this stuff and tell a Dealer what they will do.
Not sure if you've resolved the issue, but the Prado Group- Toyota Prado Group of Australia have heaps of info on this. Apparently its a known problem with this motor. Awesome vids too, keep them coming.
I went through these experiences buying a new Ford Everest. I went to multiple Ford dealers and they always went out of their way to attend to the issues. Currently on 96000k no faults or issues. Second set of tyres and original brake pads. Toyota need to step up.
Hi mate Has the software upgrade fixed the issue. We just left on a trip this morning from NQ to Brisbane and 10 km in the engine light came on. Returned home and off to the local dealer in the morning to see what they will do.
hey harry,i like watching your video`s because as an old chef from way back {actually ex army cook originally} i find alot of people do cooking vids without really knowing the reasons for how & why certain things are done in a certain way when it comes to prep & cooking & leave steps out that ultimately affect the end result.I cant help it i just get very critical when it comes to people cooking who dont really understand or know what they are doing {here is the bit where i blow wind up ya skirt lol} i very rarely pick anything with your recipes or methods because you understand that your going for the end result & to achieve that there are things that cant be skipped or left out so kudos to you mate well done, there is more to bush cooking than a bbq pack from coles or a roast done in a camp oven {as good as that can be done sometimes} & as for the crappy dealer issue, well if you asked anyone from the dealer principal down to the apprentice they would all tell you they are pretty good at what they do but the reality is a different beast, especially in the motor trade, alot of the time its not that the dealer is trying to "screw you over" its just them covering for below par employees who if they cant remove a part & replace it are out of their depth. As an example i bought a new sr5 back in 2000 & put it in for the first service,it was given back to me untouched,i worked across the road{they didnt know that} and i watched it sit all day out the front then got a call that arvo to say it was all done & good to go so i pointed out the dirty oil ungreased grease nipples etc which was all part of the first service & they "re-serviced it" the 2nd service they used aftermarket filters & oils i suspect to save some$$, i had pics & details etc & contacted toyota aus & couldnt be happier with their response & they pulled the leash tight on the dealer although it never went back there,i found a good mechanic & stuck to him like glue because i would rather go to a guy who`s business depends on word of mouth rather than multi national support.....just my 2cents worth, have fun & keep up the good recipes!!!
Dealerships want to extract more money from you and want you out the door if they realize they can’t. They also don’t like customers that know enough about cars to catch them on their BS. I’ve had two Land Rover service departs try to rip me off. Thankfully I could see what they were doing. BTW- You did the right thing by publishing this. You helped your local Toyota community.
My 2019 landcruiser kept throwing a code. Dealer initially said it was due to my dual battery setup. Long story short I ended up having all 8 injectors replaced under warranty. I dealt with Pilbara Toyota and Mandurah Toyota. They were both really good. You either need to see a different dealer, or push them harder. Your car isn’t doing what’s meant to do, you have a lot of protection under Australian Consumer Law to have it rectified.
I would do exactly what you have done and it's not over reacting it's called looking after you're investment you payed hard earned money for it for them to ignore a common fault that may or may not destroy the engine, then I would blame them for neglec to not reading codes properly and explaining what the issue is and the remedy, if all that makes sense. Great build and content love watching but you make me hungry when I do, keep up the great work 👍
You must be very patient, I would have been calling the dealership out after the second time they lied. You spent your money, a lot of money, on their product and then give you the run around. Keep on their toes mate, hope it goes well after the software update and its not just a software cover up to mask something else.
This days with the prices of cars, dealerships try to tell you, “your not just buying a new car, your buying quality, service, an experience, a lifestyle” yet sometimes that premium price doesn’t reflect the service or experience the way it should. I wouldn’t say it came across as you ratting out a dealership, your sharing your experience on a vehicle you paid for and a service you also had to pay for, just by chance you have an interested audience listening. Hopefully your sharing this informs some, educates others and gets the dealership to take a look at things and realise they may have dropped the ball on the service and customer experience.
You’re not over reacting at all.... you have purchased a new car and they should fix the problems or help you solve the problem. Hope you can sort it out and enjoy your new car.

Easily the best videos on a 150 series Prado Build on the internet!
I have had issues with that same dealership.. ended up buying my cruiser from a dealer in Perth and theyre customer service is always excellent.
Love your authenticity mate. That's what makes your channel my absolute favourite. Didn't overreact. They are just full of bullshit.
I have a Prado and absolutely love it...
Wow, the opening shot. Fred looks so cool against the contrast of the red dirt, stunning
We trucked them back to the dealer and turns out it was throwing the low oil pressure code, this was due to the fact the engine oil that was put in them from factory was wrong
(there was a bulletin about this), because the viscosity of the oil was a lot thinner it wasn’t running at the correct pressure. The sensor picked this up and of course causes all the other lights to come up and go into “limp mode” once the oil was changed they were perfect. maybe a total different issue but if you haven’t sorted it already may be worth looking into, cheers Josh
I LOVE how Fred knows to stay in frame while playing. He’s gorgeous. Who cares about your car. 🤣🤣💖
100% not over reacting
After dealing with Toyota dealerships with my new hilux having DPF issues I have 0 faith in Toyota’s new car warranties. They will weasel their way out of anything.
There is a large class action with Toyota over the DPF issue going back to 2015 I think
aren''t dealerships franchises? you get shit ones and less shit ones.
I was surprised about Supafit, will definitely check them out . cheers
thank you for this video, have been tossing up buying a front runner rack for my new prado but this video has decided it for me, cheers.
Very nicely put together Harry, I think we have all had struggles with Toyota dealers over the years, and much of the reason I don't use them any more to service my car.
I don't like Front Runner racks, one because of the noise they make. Does that rubber flap work? If it does, that's a great mod.
I was shocked how quiet it was Andrew, genuinely shocked. I couldn’t hear it at all until I put maxtrax up there (my lord, do they whistle!!- that’s why they are in a bag now)
@@firetofork I also found that out recently. My Tracklander rack is moderately quiet. Until I put 4 Maxtrax on it! Bugger me. They are so loud!
I should mention, my old rack was a Tracklander, big difference in volume
@@4xoverland Maxtrax has built-in ShuRoo.... Those guys at Maxtrax are so clever :)
@@shannonmallyon143 Best comment I have read today LOL.
Could be worse. Could be on your 3rd Defender in less than 3 months
Assume you are referring the
TFL youtube channel rather than yourself?
Yeah bud, the TFL one. I've had mine for years
No over reaction mate, good on ya for actually pushing the issue and being honest about it.
Everyone bags kings but at the end of the day they’re a affordable way to got 4wding for people who don’t have the money
Thanks for the honesty, its information that we really need to know.
The way you handle yourself is professional. I like your mannerism. Cheers
I have had the same experience with that particular dealership. Unhelpful, arrogant and rude. I won’t be going back either.
The oil for a
You are perfectly correct in the way you dealt with the dealership. Luckily you had knowledge of the fault codes. First of all if you could have took it to another dealership and compared the two results. Is there an independent complaint authority in your country to report the dealership to.
That is why people take there vehicles to a independent garage. But if you have a new car the dealership has the monopoly .
Pretty simple answer bloke
They lied to you...dont go back 👍
Youre in the right mate. And its good to see they couldnt pull the wool over ya eyes. Good on you for sticking with it and standing solid👌
I'm all for jokes. The shop might be a shit hole but most of their products are good value if you can't afford the premium gear your used to using. Kings has enabled me to get my family out camping on a low income.
....from your local bloke at 4x4supacentre.
Thankfully I don’t think my phone is that accurate!
Been looking at seat covers for my kakadu seats gonna give supafit a call 👌
Excellent Video Harry. And you are not over reacting, you have the right to get your vehicle fixed under the ACCC law.
Of all the offroad builds ive seen in youtube yours is the best Harry!!! Love your Prado!!!🥰👌👍
“”Oh what a xxxxxxx feeling, Toyota..... you fill in the blanks.
Never trust dealerships. There's a reason why they have such a poor reputation.
Dude, very cool custom number plate
Have only seen the first 1/3 so far - just wanted to say that opening scene is absolutely stunning.
Good on you for speaking out about it. so wrong that they only were willing to investigate it after you caught them out lying.
nope. not over reacting. I’ve had some difficult experiences with this dealership too.
good vid, bloody dealerships always trying to screw someone hope it gets fixed. this is why I
run older 4x4
Thanks for the videos, you have paid a lot of money for this car and it is not fit for purpose pure and simple. Consumer protection law in Australia requires Toyota to repair it. I am keen to hear the outcome because I am on the verge of buying a new vehicle and the Prado VX was/is at the top of my list...keep up the pressure, you have paid for better customer service than has been provided.
Trust is everything. Once lost it is never regained.
Hi mate
Has the software upgrade fixed the issue.
We just left on a trip this morning from NQ to Brisbane and 10 km in the engine light came on.
Returned home and off to the local dealer in the morning to see what they will do.
Hasn’t come out yet, but an oil change is supposed to fix it. Chat to the dealer
hey harry,i like watching your video`s because as an old chef from way back {actually ex army cook originally} i find alot of people do cooking vids without really knowing the reasons for how & why certain things are done in a certain way when it comes to prep & cooking & leave steps out that ultimately affect the end result.I cant help it i just get very critical when it comes to people cooking who dont really understand or know what they are doing {here is the bit where i blow wind up ya skirt lol} i very rarely pick anything with your recipes or methods because you understand that your going for the end result & to achieve that there are things that cant be skipped or left out so kudos to you mate well done, there is more to bush cooking than a bbq pack from coles or a roast done in a camp oven {as good as that can be done sometimes} & as for the crappy dealer issue, well if you asked anyone from the dealer principal down to the apprentice they would all tell you they are pretty good at what they do but the reality is a different beast, especially in the motor trade, alot of the time its not that the dealer is trying to "screw you over" its just them covering for below par employees who if they cant remove a part & replace it are out of their depth.
Definitely the right call with the tyres! 👍
Awesome video Harry! Love the opening scene, makes us want to head on over to WA!
You should! Bring a swag and I’ll sort dinner out
I would do exactly what you have done and it's not over reacting it's called looking after you're investment you payed hard earned money for it for them to ignore a common fault that may or may not destroy the engine, then I would blame them for neglec to not reading codes properly and explaining what the issue is and the remedy, if all that makes sense.
