Hi i have the same laptop for some reason in the bios it wont show me my harddrive. And i cant boot it from my hardrive hdd. Would a new bios chip be the fix
Thank you for the video. I have replaced the battery pack inside the asus f507 with a new one but the laptop doesn’t turn on...... I have a big suspect that the battery charger is broken..... what do you think about? Kind regards. Max
Hi, I have the ASUS F507U , there is a slot for a 2nd SSD ? I have 8gb of RAM can i upgrade it? Can I upgrade my WIFI card ? Thx for the informations :) Ps. My slot for RAM is external and i can add/remove it without opening all the laptop but just the part where the ram is and I have 2 slot: one with 8gb and one slot free without nothing…
@@lonlo First of all, if you see two keys in the slot, then it's 100% only for NGFF SSDs, which have two key notches on the drive. NVMe has only one key on the drive, so you physically won't be able to insert an NVMe SSD into a dedicated NGFF slot.
I tried to replace the original hdd (HGST 500gb) with an SSD Kingston A400 (240gb), but it doesn't boot. It goes automatically into bios, even though you keep pressing the booting key (F8), having disabled the fast booting in bios. Any clue?
@@ElectronicsComputers I did it but as I reported, it doesn't work since there's no response to the recalling of the boot menu (F8)... it says there are no bootable devices although there's a flashdrive containing Windows 10 and an external (USB) DVD writer unit. Shortly, it goes automatically into the bios. Thanks anyway 🙏🏻
You need to enter BIOS/Advanced Mode/SATA Configuration and change SATA Mode Selection from "Intel RST Premium With Intel Optane System Acceleration" to "AHCI", and reboot with changes saved. After that all you devices become visible.
my HP 15 ay005tx intel i3 laptop using window 10 suddenly it showing window error blue screen unable to use. May I know what is the issues? I have changed my ssd still same.
@@abhilash71294 The BIOS chip in modern laptops is usually powered by the main battery. Adding a separate battery for the BIOS can be a bit tricky. There are two types of BIOS chips: those operating at 1.8V and those at 3.3V. If your BIOS chip requires 1.8V, you'll need to include a power management stage with the battery. For a 3.3V chip, you can solder a battery directly to the power terminals of the BIOS chip through a diode. However, if your main laptop battery is dead, it’s often easier and cheaper to replace it with even a non-original battery, which you can get for around $20.
Dislike, because the battery was not disconnected, before disconnecting the matrix cable from the board, no matter how careful you are in this action, you must disconnect the battery at the very beginning of manipulating the motherboard, and connect the battery at the very end, when all the cables are connected.
My bad! When I do the same work on my repair shop, I always disconnect the power/battery first. But when you shoot a video it's kind of hard to concentrate on your work.
Great video, it helped me a lot to replace hdd with ssd👍👍
I'm happy to help!

Are you sure that your hard drive is alive? Also, try to use function keys for the boot menu.
Really good video, thanks for running through the screws lengths at the end :)

Did it work with the battery replacement?

Is there a difference between the F507 and the F507U? I need to get the battery replaced but can't find information about that anywhere
Same battery.
I have an asus f507ub-br292t I want to put a ssd, Is there a slot for m2 SSD?
As you can see from the video, there's an M.2 slot that supports NGFF SSDs.
Does it support PCI-e? Or only SATA3?
That model supports only M.2 NGFF SSDs.
But I checked a slot on motherboard, one gap with 5 pins on top and 4 pins on bottom, according to the internet, it is a PCie-NVME, am I wrong?

I have f507u based on i5 7th gen, is there option to add ram?
You can easily upgrade your laptop's RAM up to 8GB DDR2 2400.
mine came without the SSD, only HDD, do you know what size SSD m2 shoud i pick? (actual size, not storage size, there is only 1 screw for M2
)
You can use any M.2 2280 NGFF SSD

How it will boot without operating system? Install windows 10 from a bootable flash drive. I have a video on how to create one.

i have black screen after reassembling f507u even if i plug an hdmi to it. it worked before teardown. what could it be?
Black screen on the external monitor or laptop's one?

what kind of error does it show on blue screen?
How to add CMOS in this laptop????
Do you mean to reflash the BIOS chip? If the BIOS is corrupted you'll need a programmer to upload a new firmware.
@@ElectronicsComputers this laptop doesn't have CMOS battery (e.g. CR2032). I want to add a CMOS Battery in this motherboard.

I have same laptops
Can use nvme ssd in m.2 slot
You can only use SATA-based M.2 SSDs which are NFFF SSDs.
Can u please tell genuine opinion on its built quality...i mean rate out of 5 ..compared to other laptop build quality same price
Screen 4

Thank you
You're welcome
laptops have become less repairable over the decades
unfortunately it's true

Yep! Clients from Austria.
