I dont know about everyone else but a video of the houses in the neighborhood would be awesome You are doing a good job of making this garden YOUR garden
Yes please show us your neighbourhood. And the history of why the architecture is so diverse. You're doing great in the garden. I can see why you want those nellie hollies. Believe it or not plants need watering in winter. It's amazing how quick they dry out👏👏💕
Good to hear your plans. I think it would be frustrating to inherit a mature garden. Especially at your age while your young and love the hobby. So “make it your own”. Amazing how much you have done already… inside snd out.
You are very articulate and I enjoy listening to you. You seem to be a very creative and practical gardener. Your ideas are inspirational and I look forward to your future plans. I really like your vision for the backyard. The former garden always seemed chaotic and overgrown to me.
Yes! Creative and practical are a rare combination. I am absolutely in awe of Sydney's courage to remove what she does not like. No dithering. No rationalizing. Just a simple "this does not work for me so it's going ". I need to take lessons!
Thanks for the quick garden tour Sydney, look forward to seeing the Nellie Steven Hollies being planted. It would be really interesting to see a tour of your street along with the history.
I would watch anything you do! Love you garden style, enjoy your video work and will certainly enjoy learning about your neighborhood. You are a natural talent.
Thank you for removing the nandinas, as I personally greatly dislike them! Protecting our waxwings, robins, and your pets are a consideration, as well. You are doing a fabulous job! Watching a younger couple be so passionate about their outdoor space and garden is a true pleasure!
I couldn’t be more interested in learning about the history of your neighborhood and all the different events that your neighborhood does since I live in Southern California actually in a very nice little community we don’t do much like that. I would love that now that my kids are grown and gone. I miss some sort of unity within our neighborhood. Please show us yours love your show continued success. God bless.❤️🐕🙏🏻🇺🇸🇭🇷🍸CHEERS‼️
Yes, please do a neighborhood walk. Your garden is really looking so good. It was a bit of a shock to see the initial deconstruction but you have such a great eye and sense of style. So glad you decided to bring us along. I would love to see a close up of the pink flowering bush in the backyard and the one with little white flowers. Seeing the close ups is a real treat.
Your yard is really looking great! You’ve accomplished so much in such a short period of time. Bravo Sydney! I’d love to see a video of your neighborhood!
So excited to see the changes you discussed. I would love to see your street and a tour of the neighborhood. This time of the year, the yards would look pretty, too.
Sydney what a difference after a rain. Everything is standing tall and ready to bloom. Yes would love to have a neighborhood walkabout with a story theme. Yes please take out the Nandina. Holly will allow you a beautiful deep green backdrop for the fence. Enjoy your videos. We are all in for another round of storms tonight. Take care.
Agree on removing the Nandinas! And it seems there’s so much miscellaneous things growing up that need to be cleared out. I think a shrub, bush or tree deserves its room to grow and be beautiful and not be so cluttered. Good work.
Hi Sydney, I am loving what you call a staggered design in your garden! I especially love how you strategically placed the potted plants. Everything seems to lend to a good energy flow! 🌸🌲❤️🇨🇦
Glad you are removing the Nandinas. The berries are poisonous to birds and cats😢. Excited about the new peonies. I love the pot of cactus in front of the evergreen. I’m enjoying your content and would watch a video about the historic neighborhood.
Looking good! Love your clean esthetic. Question. Would you ever consider relocating the wood pile? It feels a little in the middle of things but maybe you have a good reason for having it there?
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again…I love how you are using lots of Linda’s plants but making some adjustments and additions to make it all your own. You’re doing a lovely job of it too! I’d love to hear more about your neighbourhood - being from England, it’s always sweet to see how you look after relatively modern homes, from our perspective anyway. I grew up in a Cotswold stone cottage that was from the mid 1700s and it wasn’t protected/in a preservation area etc in any way! 💚🧡
The hollies are going to bring great structure to the back ground in the garden. I also love the way the lime green shrubs glow against the fence in the raised bed garden.
It would be nice to have a video of your neighbourhood. I live in another part of the world and I always find it interesting to see the different styles of houses, streets, etc., that exist elsewhere. You’re doing a super job on personalizing your new garden. Thank you for taking us on your journey!
You're right...things are looking really good! Your vision & hard work are paying off big time. Working full time & doing all the work you're doing in your garden can be daunting. I'm sure coming home at the end of the day is so well worth it.
I think those Hollie’s are really going to anchor everything in, Sydney. As for neighborhood tour….that would be very interesting. We like whatever you do. 😊💖🦋🕊
Yes! A video about your nabourhood would be really nice to see! Loove what you do and can’t belive you have only done You tube for such a short while! ❤️
Absolutely, share neighborhood history; that would be terrific. It occurred to me that you are telling a garden story as you share the things you are doing. You might enjoy reading "The Layered Garden " by David Culp , especially since you were talking about plant layers. I think things are looking quite fine in your garden.
YES! I re-read my copy of "The Layered Garden" at least once a year. Such a beautiful garden and well-executed book. David's dry humor is often amusing.
Yes to a neighborhood video!!! Any video from you would be wonderful.....love your interior style as well as exterior! I so agree with you on Nandini's....not a fan either......your plans all sound so perfect. Love this process of making a garden thats established your own!! Everything is looking beautiful!!
Yes, yes and yes!!! I love the idea of learning the history of your neighborhood and the different styling of the homes. Such a great idea, Sydney. I can't wait to see the Nellie Stevens Hollies planted and hope you feel proud in making your garden your own. The back porch looks just lovely with all the greenery.
I haven’t looked at the gas line cover/little shed before. Have you thought about changing it’s shape and making the space more multi purpose? I’m wondering if you can remove the pitched roof, add a little height to the brick and install a concrete counter top instead. You can extend it to include the space where the bracket shelf is next to it, putting in functional metal shelves or a brick end so you have open storage below. This would tidy the space, make a great potting/work area and be much more functional. Just a quick thought. I’m enjoying watching your transformation. You’re doing great.
I’m very excited about your vision for your home and especially the vision you have for the garden! Don’t rush! It’s like a painting to start and love what you choose!
Would ❤a neighborhood video! Wish the tree house tarp in the backyard neighbor’s was green inside of blue! I hate those! But can’t tell neighbors what to do I guess. Enjoying your progress!
Love your videos - your considerable gardening knowledge certainly shows! I am not a fan of nandinas, either. You are doing an amazing amount of deferred maintenance as well as the gardening - working full time, too! Soon you will be 'caught up' and will be able to relax and enjoy! You will notice I did not say 'finished' - home ownership tasks and gardening is never done - as you know.
Sydney, I am enjoying following the changes you are making. I particularly love the dark grey you have painted all of your fences, it really brings a sense of cohesion to the garden. It would be a joy to learn more about the history and architecture of your neighborhood, please do make the video.
I love how things are coming along. I am also a big fan of Nellie Stevens Holly, I have several in my garden. I would like to learn more about the neighborhood and see the different homes.
I like the looks of the raised garden beds. It looks neat and tidy. Loving the changes you are making. I think painting around garage would clean it up and look tidier. I would love to see tour of your neighborhood.
I too would love a tour of your neighborhood and learn a bit about its history. I'm inspired by your vision for your garden and how much you are getting done in such a short time.
Wish I had kept my Nellie Stevens pruned from the beginning of its life in my garden. Each of the last few years I have taken off a bit extra from its branch ends, so now it is beginning to be a little fuller and more beautiful. Without consistent pruning they can become really leggy & floppy. Looking forward to seeing yours AND seeing how you prune them. Thanks for these wonderful videos.
Everything looks so fresh after the rain. At Lowe's today, they were unloading a shipment of plants (I'm in Minneapolis area) and I picked a couple unidentified geraniums very similar to your 'Martha Washington' variety. I'll plant them in my quilted cobalt blue containers to flank my garage door. Instead of dicentra silver falls (though I love that plant) maybe I'll add Dusty Miller since these sit on the driveway. Not much draping height. I also picked up a couple saxifrage plants I had on my wish list. They have such cute multicolor blooms. But it seems where I intended to plant them is too sunny. I have the 'Julia Rose' Itoh peony on my wish list. In my antsiness to get gardening, I've ordered some plants online, too. Things I might not find locally. So excited to finally garden instead of dreaming. I would love to know more about your neighborhood's history.
Love your vision! A bit more tidy with cleaner lines. Love that you’ll paint those ‘boxes’ near the back apartment. Everything looks great! I enjoy your vlogs!
Yes a neighborhood history would be fun, I live in the U.P of Michigan and our history of mining by lake Superior is interesting to others also. So bring it on do your channel as you see intest for us...... ROCK ON
That’s a great video idea! I’d love to hear the history and see a little tour of the street. Thanks for sharing your progress with us. It’s looking so pretty.
Everything looks beautiful, so vivid and lush. Y’all have already done some amazing changes! The tree in the back corner that has all the beautiful red/orange blooms is breathtaking, what is it if you don’t mind commenting!! I’m anxious to see your protege all in bloom!! Everything is looking so good Sydney 🙌🏼 Yes, I’d love a video about the history of your neighborhood!

Love your simplicity of the space
I would love a history tour from you 😊 I’m liking your vision for your garden 👨🌾💚
Good to hear your plans. I think it would be frustrating to inherit a mature garden. Especially at your age while your young and love the hobby. So “make it your own”.
Amazing how much you have done already… inside snd out.
Well spoken perfect 👌
The holly trees will look great in the yard. Can’t wait to see them. I think a video about your neighborhood would be fun!
You are very articulate and I enjoy listening to you. You seem to be a very creative and practical gardener. Your ideas are inspirational and I look forward to your future plans. I really like your vision for the backyard. The former garden always seemed chaotic and overgrown to me.
I liked the other garden, but I like your ideas also. And you do have a very good speaking voice.
Yes! Creative and practical are a rare combination. I am absolutely in awe of Sydney's courage to remove what she does not like. No dithering. No rationalizing. Just a simple "this does not work for me so it's going ".
I need to take lessons!
Yes, a history of the neighbourhood would be great.

I love that you are making the garden your own and taking out the things you do not like.😍
Thanks for the quick garden tour Sydney, look forward to seeing the Nellie Steven Hollies being planted. It would be really interesting to see a tour of your street along with the history.

Thanks for the update! Your garden looks refreshed from the rain. Yes, I would enjoy a tour and the history of your neighborhood.
The pink flowering shrub is a weigelia. The white flowered is a deutzia, I think, called white pearls.
Love how you’re organizing your backyard….yes on neighborhood history and tour…
Yes, I think a video of your neighbor would be very interesting. I'm enjoying watching you make the landscape your own and am in awe of your energy.
I like the vision you have and the garden is already looking great, and so much bigger!
I like the walkthroughs and names of plants. The pink flowering shrub is pretty!
Would really enjoy a video tour and a video history of your beautiful neighborhood. Sydney, your hard work is truly inspirational!
Take care.
You are an inspiration on how to take a mature established garden/yard and make it your own!
Yes I’d love a neighborhood tour! That would be so fun!
You are doing great with the changes and like your future plans. Really like the more open areas you made by pruning in the post yesterday.
Agree on removing the Nandinas! And it seems there’s so much miscellaneous things growing up that need to be cleared out. I think a shrub, bush or tree deserves its room to grow and be beautiful and not be so cluttered. Good work.
Designers speak of 'specimen' plants and maybe ALL plants need enough room to display their individual beauty. Good Work Sydney!
Hi Sydney, I am loving what you call a staggered design in your garden! I especially love how you strategically placed the potted plants. Everything seems to lend to a good energy flow! 🌸🌲❤️🇨🇦
Sidney the backyard is really coming together - looking great!
Glad you are removing the Nandinas. The berries are poisonous to birds and cats😢.
Excited about the new peonies. I love the pot of cactus in front of the evergreen. I’m enjoying your content and would watch a video about the historic neighborhood.
A neighborhood architecture tour?!??? Oh! Be still my heart ❤ There will be a big screen and popcorn 🍿
The hollies are going to bring great structure to the back ground in the garden. I also love the way the lime green shrubs glow against the fence in the raised bed garden.
Garden is really looking lovely and showing your vision. Love the way you are mixing contemporary and traditional styles. Gorgeous peony.
Looks fabulous! Does your husband miss mowing his lawn? You said that was his domain/baby at your last home. Thanks for sharing, Julie 🌷
I bet they end up removing turf 🤷🏻♀️
Everything looks so clean & lovely. Love the grey pots, fence etc, can't wait to see all
the flowers in bloom.
Can’t wait to see the hollys go in!!!
Yes on the video. Thanks for explaining your thoughts on changes. So fun.
It would be nice to have a video of your neighbourhood. I’m so excited to see your landscape design. Evergreens are my absolute fav and I love Holly trees/shrubs. 😊

Just realized what a large property you have. You like it and it likes you. You're a team. It's really beautiful.
Absolutely, share neighborhood history; that would be terrific.

“You be you & I be me” (I saw that somewhere) ❤️
Yes. That would a bonus video to hear about your neighborhood and its history. 😊
Love what you've done so far. It's fun to see two different gardening styles in a yard as lovely as yours. Nellie Stevens holly will be beautiful!!!
Love your videos - your considerable gardening knowledge certainly shows! I am not a fan of nandinas, either. It is such a task to maintain a front and back garden simultaneously.
Sydney, I am enjoying following the changes you are making. I particularly love the dark grey you have painted all of your fences, it really brings a sense of cohesion to the garden. It would be a joy to learn more about the history and architecture of your neighborhood, please do make the video.
Everything looks so nice and tidy on the porch. I think the Holly is a great choice, it will be tidier.
Little Bohemia is in my neighborhood where Al Capne hung out when he left the city, everywhere has a story to tell about where there garden grows

Wow!beautiful job on the backyard landscape!! I would love to see a video on the history of your beautiful neighborhood!!! Yes Please!!🥰
I’m looking forward to seeing it not so messy 😊I know it will be awesome!
You're right - Sydney is definitely doing away with the previous 'messiness'! 🙂
Do you have a potting bench? If not what about replacing the shelves with a nice bench? Everything is looking great!!!!
Yes yes yes please do a tour of the hood and the history---------thank you
Absolutely. I’d like a video of your neighborhood.
Everything looks so fresh after the rain.

That’s a great video idea! I’d love to hear the history and see a little tour of the street. Thanks for sharing your progress with us. It’s looking so pretty.
Everything looks so beautiful, green and lush.
You’ve done soo much already ! Looks awesome.
I’d love a tour of your neighborhood, would be so fun! ❤

I enjoy your walks around your garden and appreciate your knowledge. Thank you
Looking good! I vote Si! To the historic video. 😊
Everything looks beautiful, so vivid and lush. Y’all have already done some amazing changes! The tree in the back corner that has all the beautiful red/orange blooms is breathtaking, what is it if you don’t mind commenting!! I’m anxious to see your protege all in bloom!!
It would be very interesting to see/hear the history of your neighborhood!!!!
Is it the Weigela? I would love to know, also.
Yes I’m interested in seeing and learning all about the neighborhood. I live in California but my Mom is from Oklahoma.
I am in Southern Ca. and would love to see your neighborhood. I could only dream of living in such a neighborhood.
In back corner perhaps put a lattice extension on top of fence line to block neighbours view
