Why Do Hindus Worship Animals?

  • When faced with the question of why Hindus worship animals, there is often a tendency to either belittle this kind of practice or to excessively rationalise the different deities so that they sound acceptable to a western worldview. This is often done at the expense of developing a sincere connection with the Divine. In this video we will be explaining why the Dharmic vision of God allows Hindus to accept Divine in all possible ways.

@Dreado gaming Hi I was Hindu (Belonged to Other Backward Class) 2 years back until I left it as an Atheist. Now I do not believe or follow any religion. The reason is the inequality that is built-in Hindu Religion. Hinduism is spread in so many castes and people do not treat equally to their own religion followers. Just do some research and you will have your answer. The person who wrote indian constitution also left Hinduism because of this caste system

@@manishverma2244 also, caste is decided after birth. It's common that a Kshtriya's son will know how to do sword fight so it was given as birth. But if being a Brahman, a person eats non - vegetarian food, he can longer be called a Brahman.
If people are setting wrong things into your head, you can't defame a whole religion.
God sees nobody let it be a Rishi or Sabri. He sees your love towards him.
A Brahman will have to worship him equally as a Shudra worship him.

@Tiffany J Yes, that is what we believe, we're all part of the eternal being, only the realisation is needed, the journey to self discovery.
So how do you think it is different from the point of view of your previous faith, Christianity I suppose? And how did your friends and family react to your decisions?
I don't mean to pry, please excuse me if I sound rude. It's just that most of us when we are born into the fold tend to take things for granted. Whereas you, you embraced Dharma because you found solace in its teachings, which, however, vary to some extent among sects.
I don't adhere to any particular sect but I do regard their teachings with respect. Many people in my family have a spiritual teacher, Guru, to guide them although I haven't yet.

@Tiffany JI do have a vague idea about the trauma that the original inhabitants of America had to face. My cousin was in Spain where she met a lady from Mexico who mentioned how the colonial masters would impose their language on them by forcing them to speak the White language. I also recall reading about the Potlatch ceremony of the Canadian Indians that was banned by the Whites. No disrespect to Whites, but this was historical blunder of unacceptable proportions. Why would you have to IMPOSE your faith if your faith is true? People would turn to it automatically.
Unfortunately, a lot of world history and religion is dominated by domination and subjugation. If you have the might, you're on the right. It hurts me to merely conceive how badly the identity of the different tribes and races was razed to obscurity. Most perhaps cannot recall the name of their ancestors or their native places, neither can the majority connect to the tradition of the ancestors.
Personally, I like to believe (and I know it) that the native religions would be closer to our faith because they would stress peaceful Co existence and the importance of respecting life forms and mother nature. Our religion is certainly not human centric only, we need to include all the myriad life forms to understand and appreciate the Cosmos.
Interesting to note that you're both Native Indian and African American. Beautiful cultures and people, perhaps marginalised in the saga of campaigns, persecution and what not? There can be so much I could learn from you about your rich ancestry.
We say in Sanskrit - VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM.
The world is ONE FAMILY. Your culture is my culture too!
Unfortunately, I'm divorced from social media! 😊I know. I only chat on WhatsApp if you will. I do have a Facebook account I rarely access. But I'll check out your Instagram. Would you like me to recommend you to a few friends of mine? They are nice people. Only if you want that is.

So in the end , whatever history may say, whichever scholar may tell what, our Bhagwan will be always our Bhagwan. Our trust is on that innate bonding not the sense of logic or proof.

@@ayshiaamir7471 What a baby you are. See the video nicely. It clearly explains why Hindus see God in many forms. I believe that you are non-Hindu. It's not about eating; it's about God. Hindus have free will to accept things and find them out by self-learning. Drama and karma are to something that most Hindus target. God doesn't require prayers only, as Gita says that if you don't do your karma, you have wasted your life. For example, a fisherman needs to fish, a farmer needs to farm, and a teacher needs to teach. One doesn't need to sit and pray all day; the least one can acknowledge the creation around us. Contribute good to the environment.
Imagine you cut trees and destroy the forest, you are self and don't understand the mother earth theory; it is not right karma. It's gods creation and not human property. Krishna clearly says one has the full right to choose the path. Christian or Muslim will tell you that it's a sin to see a beautiful woman and think bad about it. Hindus will say it's terrible but not sin as you control your action. But suppose you raped that woman, then it's a sin, and it's your deeds, you will pay for it, and it is not forgiven. One example is when the father of Rama killed a bachelor who was carrying his blind parents mistakenly; still, he was punished as God is. The theory of Christian or Islam will not accept this, and that what encourage people in doing wrong and asking for forgiveness. I love hinduism, and it's a fair culture; what you get is what you earn. What you do today will be recorded, and God sees all. God is one in many forms. I hope you understand that don't play with these beautiful, Godly cultures......If I am with God, then imagining him with me is not wrong. God bless.

Verily the last Prophet of Islam (On Whom be Peace) was the most honorable and noblest of all humans to walk on the face of this Earth. Michael Hart an independent Jewish researchist of historical petsonalities says in his book '100 greatest personalities in Human History' that Muhammad is outstandingly the No 01 among all, as he he excels in every field of human endeavor rolled into a single individual. When a person is consumed by blind hatred and has a perverted upbringing then everything thing he sees even in the noblest individual will be based on those standards

For example amrutha manthan between Devas and Asuras is struggle we face when we progress in our Sadhna(Meditation), when we mediate first that comes out is poison. People who are initiated in meditation sadhna by a true guru will have headache, diarrhea, body pain, anger, fear etc in the beginning . Once the disciple goes deeper in meditation he will manifest wealth and success in life by his sensible and pure nature that he have achieved by practice ( manthan), a disturbed and insensible mind can never achieve success. Once the practitioner goes again deeper in meditation he will achieve enlightenment( Amrutha- The nectar ). Every stories have a symbolic meaning. People who have no clue about our culture will see only monkeys and donkeys. Only the one who practices sincerely will see Hanuman in that monkey God.

@Zainab Kawah The One God can take many manifestations, forms and names. All deities are aspects of one God (Brahman). You may think Brahman is 'true God' but its more complex because Brahman is the universal soul and the universe itself. We are all part of Brahman.

      @Zainab Kawah
Hindus don't worship 'paintings' or 'objects'. Yes we created them, and worship them, because the images represents the deities we worship (Saguna Brahman). We worship the image of the deities, not the stone and elements themselves. The images are merely symbols. We are not saying 'the statue is god'. No, that's not the point.
In Islam, Allah (SWT) is only represented by writing His name in Arabic calligraphy. This is a way to symbolize Him in a certain way. The same thing goes to Christianity, where the Holy Cross represents as a symbol. Same thing goes to Hinduism.
The way you're asking this question can be also asked by a hindu to a muslim or christian: "How can you worship something that is empty, non-existence or nothingness?"
Not wanting to offend you in any way, but I hope you got my point. From this you'll give your reasons that God has no images or so. If its forbidden in your culture, you don't do it. But why oppressing those who does? You have reasons for why you don't worship God in specific form, the same way Hindus can give many reasons for why they worship images.

To empower the presents of the divine in a murti (images) we recite mantras, yajnas, tantras and chanting bhajans.

You are doing a great job. Hindu never discriminates animal because; all objects are the form of consciousness and living being and living things have soul/atman. In western and middle east theology, the animals are created by God for human and they do not have soul so they can be killed and eat it. Their meat can be stolen from the animal’s body without caring their pain & trauma face by animals. Veda asks that how can human be so cruel that animal living with a family system can be killed. In Vedagama, there are descriptions about 11 gender qualities. Gender different does not matter in Hinduism. It is all man body and female body or masculine & feminine only. Atman does not have gender. Body is perishable and not permanent. Personification of devas are in several forms: Female, male and also neutral for (napunsak), Ardhanarishawar and half man and animal form (Narasimha & hanuman) including plants, trees and so on. All these devas with different form have significant qualities and they are like different beads joined by a string of garland as the manifestation of the Brahman/consciousness which is ultimately formless.

Bhugola (bhu=land/earth, gola=round) earth is round
Bhrahmand (Brahma=universe/galaxies, anda=egg, elliptical) galaxies are elliptical
Universe (Brahmand) consists of 4 things
      1. Param atma (Energy)
      2. Param tatva (Matter)
      3. Maha kal (Time )
      4. Kal (Black space)
      (Today modern Science says
Space and Time are not different they are different attribute of 1 thing and Hindus use 1 word "Kal")
      1. Param Atma
      2. Param tatva
      Both are Param (Supreme)
      Hence equal
      Atma = Tatva
      Energy = Matter
      E = M
      E = MC^2 (After Solar formation)
Both can not be created nor destroyed only translated ( or incarnated) into another form (or body )
      Both are Trinity
      Energy has trinity aspect
      1. Creation +ve
      2. Preservaton =
      3. Destruction -ve
      Matter has trinity aspect
      1. Proton +ve
      2. Neutron =
      3. Electron -ve
      Hindus personified it as
      Brahma +ve
      Vishnu =
      Shiva -ve
Since Energy and matter are two
      2 types of worship
      1. Meditation (Yog- Connection between atma and param atma )
      2. Idol worshipping (Param tatva)
      Why idol worshipping?
Hindus do the same rituals on the purchase of car bike house TV AC etc which we do before idols
      Bcoz
A car can be moulded into an Idol of Natraja
But no change in the composition of the proton neutron electron
      Functions of Param tatva
      1. Proton and neutron are always connected form Nucleous
Brahma and Vishnu are also always connected through navel cord (Nabhi)
Nucleous Hindi name is also "Nabhi"
      2. Electrons always revolve in its ring
Depicted as Shiva's dance in the ring of fire
      Functions of Param Atma
      1. Creation
Universe born out of nothingness(0) and will merge back to nothingness(0)
Nothingness is represented by 0 given by AryaBhat
0 is an ellipsoide shaped Shivling which banged and infinity came into being
      1,0000000000000000......
      And
      The Universe
      2. Preservation
Vishnu the personification of preservative aspect of the Universe energy
      Or Simply
      Vishnu the preserver
1st avatar of Vishnu was Fish 🐠
2nd Avatar of Vishnu was Turtle 🐢
      Now in last 150 years
Science said the same how life evolved and preservered on Earth
      3. Destruction
Since Universe born out of nothingness(0) and will merge back to nothingness(0)
Shivling is the source of creation as well as destruction
      Shivling (0)has 2 functions
      So
      2 types of worship
      1. Creation (0) -Inner consiousness
      2. Destruction (0) - surrounded by a ring
      1. Creation (0)
Pouring water on Shivling and placing shivling near water bodies symbol of cooling down it's energies so that it wont bang
      2.Destruction (0)
Bhasm Arti - raining down of human ashes on shivling shows destruction of human
Now Science says there is a destructible energy Black hole and same way it destroys planets into dust
      How Shivling came?
Shivling is shambhu/Svyambhu (svayam-bhu)(self created) out of the Consiousness
      It's like
We sleep and see dreams when we lost in Consiousness
Same Consiousness is the reason of the creation of the Universe
      Crux
      In Vedas
      It's written
      Worship both
      1. Sambhuti (Matter)
      2. Asambhuti (Energy)
Otherwise you will go into darkness
While we only worship Param tatva (Matter) not Param atma (Energy)
      So
Do Meditation for 1 hour every day
All sages did meditation, Ravan did meditation, bhudda did Meditation to empower themselves
      So
Param atma + Param tatva + Maha kal + Kal = Universe (Brahm or Brahmand)
The highest manifestion of Brahm is Para Brahm
      Multi Universe
      And
We live in the Consiousness of
      MahaVishnu = SadaShiva

I'm not convinced that Krishna meant "shark" in that verse.
The Sanskrit word is makara, which in the context, probably refers to the sea monster that also represents Capricorn in Hindu and Buddhist thought. He is comparing himself with the supreme "type" among these several classes of being. Afterall, we do recognize Nārāyaṇa as a great bodhisattva in Buddhism.

    Hi Team,
You guys are going a fantastic job, your video proof will be eye opening for many.. keep going.....
In this society many people are enjoying the benefits of cast based reservation although they are converted to Christians, no political party have guts to question them, because all are afraid of vote bank.
If the government take the list of all the churches in India and the memberships, then only we will get to know the actual Christian population, in the records they are single digit percentages but as per my Knowledge atleast 25% of south Indians are Christians.
As a single individual I can't do anything, you guys as a team can bring the change
If you could write a petition on "change.org" we all Hindus can unitedly make it possible to eliminate those converted Christians from reservation and the actual backward people who are in need will be benefited.

The thing which makes Hinduism one of the greatest way if life is that it doesn't impose anything on anyone.
You can worship a sculpture of God. No problem
You can worship a animal in name of God. No problem
You can worship nothing as God but believe in him. No problem
You can even think that God doesn't exist but until you are a good person it's acceptable
There's only one thing Hinduism tries to impose on you is that You have to be a good person and do good to others if you have done something bad it will get back to you by Karma.
