I'm from Goalpara district of Assam as Nandy ji has said about hierarchical sacrifice I have heard in ancient times in mayong there is a temple name kesaikhaiti Gukhani thaan at the foothills of mayong hill where human sacrifice was practiced the villagers says that in ancient times before the sacrifice the Bali pashu appears by itself he takes bath and let the priest to perform the rituals before Bali and he gets ready for Bali by himself and people do not know from where that person comes and gets ready to be sacrificed and no-one forces him for sacrifice.

That is black magic. Satvik or higher level Deities do not demand human sacrifice only a lower level deities or entities demands that kind of sacrifice for certain powers like example granting lordship over lower level entities like bhootas, pretas, asuras, demons all kinds of negetive beings. So my personal advice is for you people do not get enticed by these kind of talks too much. Because if a person is vulnerable to any kind of bad influence he will fall from the grace. It's best thing to focus on higher level of tantra. Where sacrifice of anything is not needed. Examples of higher level of tantra is Shiva upsana, Vishnu upasana or any avatars of lord Vishnu like krishnopasana, Durga upasana, Ganesh upasana, karthikeya upasana generally higher level entities. Good luck.

As you told that person himself comes to be sacrificed by the power of entity that person is worshipping and believe me that entity cannot be divine. Divine entities do not demand human sacrifice only animal sacrifice that too only for certain forms of Fierce deities like maa kali, tara, chamunda, chinna Masta etc etc.

The nobility of the thinking of the sages in the ancient times reveal a profound and respectful understanding of life and creation but their wisdom has often been lost in translation through the ages. These days there are many ancient practices that are misunderstood, misinterpreted or dismissed as unscientific. One such example is the practice of Pashu Bali in the Vedic Tradition, which refers to the 'sacrificing of one's own animalistic tendencies' - a word and practice often (wrongly) translated and interpreted as 'animal sacrifice'.

Which means sacrifice animal gunas which is Tamsik guna
Also in ancient time they had sacrificed human as well in the name of symbolism but the original is
Human’s guna called rajsik guna should be sacrificed
When you sacrificed inside your animal and tamsik rajsik gunas then only you can have or meet god
      (Bhagwan ki prapti)
This is the original side which misunderstood by people and started killing innocent animals

I have no problem with the Tantric school of thought but what I diagree here with Nandy sir here is he justifies meat eating culture which is completely different from the ritual of Tantric Bali requirement.
For instance Sacrifice process is very elaborate with specific mantra but on the other hand he also justifies meat eating person who would Sacrifice in the name of the diety without following due process just to eat meat.
Anyway, today I am much comfortable with the Hatha Yoga and Kriya Yoga school of thought than even the Vaishnava household I am born into. Atleast from the eating point of view, Yogic science know meat is Tamas. Tamsic food is not good if you want to enhance or aquire consciousness.

All the deities in Hinduism were created in energy form and left loose in the cosmos ( used the word cosmos for the lack of any other word that comes close to it )
These deities have a ',life form' or 'energy form' of their own, they can be invoked with specific sounds - mantras, slokas etc
The deities were depicted according to their attributes to give an idea about the deity, but essentially all these deities are Created ones.
Now, are they Gods, ofcourse yes - when God has the right to create humans & other creatures, humans also have the right to create gods.
In a sense, all the Gods in all the religions Are Created ones.
Al this claims about revelations from divine entities and all that stuff by abrahamic religions are just 'Cock & Bull' stories to convince people.

Thereafter selective secular outrage (other faiths invited no objections for regular animal sacrifice and the people are overwhelmingly nonveg) converted the sacrifice to vegetarian mode.

Acknowledging the significance of dharma is crucial, as it provides a moral and ethical framework for our actions. However, it's equally important to evolve and adapt our understanding of dharma with wisdom. Practices like sati and sahagamana, which have been rightly abolished, reflect the need for ethical progress.
Similarly, reevaluating the tradition of animal sacrifices, considering its impact on compassion and ethical treatment of living beings, is a thoughtful perspective. Dharma, at its essence, is an internal guide, and spiritual upliftment should encourage compassion and understanding. Perhaps redirecting the concept of sacrifice towards personal growth and selflessness, rather than involving harm to others, aligns more with the true essence of dharma.

I am vegetarian but I will say this. even if you are a scripture/shastra yourself, you can't deny what's written in other scriptures of other paths even if you don't understand it. if you are pure consciousness atma you cannot die the Bhagavad geeta says this. so it's not a sacrifice of an animal it is the sacrifice of his body. so how can you say it's "injustice" if it's not a killing? you are contradicting bhagvat geeta. she is only taking back what she has given to you the body. the pashu yoni is narak already the animal is going to die of painful old age long suffering anyway bali seems to be a boon a price to end that long-lasting painful suffering in an instant thanks to the mother of universe. it dosent mean all animals must be sacrificed if some idiots raise this question. once in a while the mother chooses who deserves that boon in which pashu's bhagya it is depending on it's karma. I think this is a correct way of looking at it. if I get better explanation or a counter argument on this it's openly welcomed. thanks.

There is actually a form of sacrifice that is non-violent and ethical. Sacrifice your own self before the goddess. Why don’t you do that? Goddess will be very happy. Oh, poor coward man! You cut the throat of the helpless creature, instead of cutting your own throat.
Do you think the deity is happy with your cowardice?
Which deity, real deity, would be happy with it?
Yes, the deity wants blood. But it wants YOUR blood.
Still, you cling to the little things of life, and you have neither the love nor the courage to sacrifice and offer yourself to Her.
And then you dream that the little creature actually wants to die.
The creature is more valorous than you. Because YOU can’t bear to die.
You find a substitute for the real sacrifice that any real deity would expect of you.
And what about people being non-vegetarians?
When they kill animals, they themselves become animals. Animals kill. Animals are cruel. That is their nature.
But this is part of our fallen nature. It is not part of spirituality.
To call our fallen nature spirituality is distortion and falsehood.
You don’t even wonder: Why would a real deity wish to kill an animal?
If the animal can go to a higher plane by this death, then why don’t you take its place? Isn’t this what you are supposed to be after? A higher plane? Isn’t this why you are supposed to be doing sadhana?

Is there any other answer than the following two?
    1) “Because the so-called deity is in fact an evil spirit, no matter what 'boons' she may provide to you”
    2) “The deity wants no such thing, that’s simply what her bloodthirsty followers like to think and write in the scriptures.”

I heard a (different topic) religious guru justifying marrying a 54 yr old man to 9 yr girl bcz that was common that time.. or written in scriptures that it was not a sin to do so/acceptable.. ?? I respect all cultures but not everything written there should be followed blindly (bcz it's written)?? we have evolved so much that we should be able to understand btwn right n wrong ..

The very first thought of harming an animal comes into heart is first step into sinful nature forget about secondary part that animal is going to higher level is secondary and all bull shit. This is not going to take you away from karma it will create even more karma. People really need to stop listening to these kind of gurus. I have experienced that his talks are very enticing has certain effect on the mind and heart. All falsehood will be destroyed. Focus on your sadhana of transforming yourself into higher being through yoga and deep meditation without the help of any deities or so called gods.
I bet he is even ready to sacrifice humans to his goddess giving excuses from his scriptures. A person who doesn't have strong moral compass and empathy towards an animal and his loyalty stays towards some occult text and his goddess can never be expected to be good saintly being. He is just after power nothing else.

When you reach a higher understanding of how everything is energy and there are many cultures and tribes that pray and thank trees or animals before consuming them. All are complex life forms that we understand very little about in this frequency and dimension. Any action can be done compassionately it only depends on the intention - whether its done for selfish purposes or for well being of others

Gods or deities are the ultimate source of energies. Idols just represent them for easier understanding of simple humans. Now attracting certain energies requires certain things. For example if I require a small amount of heat I might light a lamp/candle while when I require a higher amount of heat, I might need a furnace. And the fuel varies accordingly.
So yes...Gods could be pleased with both meat/alcohol or with a simple cup of sugar whichever pleases the deity for whatever purpose they are invoked for
