Hi Lisa, I almost never comment but today reminded me of the very first video of yours I watched. It was on how to cover acne and scars, it was done in such a beautiful way it gave me hope in what was a hard time. I bought everything you used and although I probably didnt do a great job I felt good! I think then I began to fall in love with makeup. Beautiful look! And I really appreciate what you said about not completely hiding all of your sun damage so that it still looks natural. I have some hyperpigmentation left from acne (as well as some active acne usually) and even though I try to work in thin layers and use your pinpoint concealing technique, I sometimes get carried away with trying to completely obliterate any slight unevenness of skin tone and still end up looking more heavily made up than I intended.
Also I will definitely be trying the pinpoint highlighting tip from the end. When I draw or paint portraits, one of my favourite parts is looking for the places where the face really catches the light, but when I do makeup I've usually stuck to just a diffused glow on the cheekbones.

REMINDER lovely people: you need to use 1/4 teaspoon of your sunscreen on your face in order to get the SPF on the label; it's the most important anti-aging ingredient if that's what you care about! And don't forget the upper-lip as it's an area that has obvious aging in humans and a lot of people forget it. 💜
And a hat! It’s summer, when we have full permission to wear enormous splashy hats, I say lean in :P

Oh my god the 'pinpoint highlighting' technique that you did at the end was so interesting! Can you make a full video about that technique Lisa? I think a lot of people would find that helpful, especially when they want to use more intense highlighters but don't want that to be overwhelming.

The best tan + flushed straight out of the sun glowing look I found, is using Lisa lipstick Velvet Bloom on top of bronzer on cheeks, bridge of nose and forehead. It's the perfect colour. Pity it's being discontinued. Got that tip of using a red/pink from Wayne Goss years ago and it works really well

Every time I see that gorgeous strawberry shock, I’m so bummed that it just doesn’t work with my skin tone, no matter how I style it, it just comes off as more shock, than strawberry :(

Lisa, thanks to you (even at my age of 73), my makeup looks so good. I get compliments many times even from sales attendants at makeup counters. I stopped using foundation some years back and use skin tints. Currently using yours. I do this technique with your highlighter and it works wonderfully. I must admit though, sometimes instead of the highlighter I use a slight application of the Chantecaille Sheer Glow Rose Tint. It works wonderfully as well.

while i understand that this method optimises the makeup, i would discourage anyone from applying different sunscreens in a patchwork way. it compromises the formulas and could significantly lessen the protection. sunscreen works by forming an even film and it cannot do its job properly if not applied correctly. stay safe in the sun out there this summer ❤ even in this miserable cloudy weather we’ve been having, the uv index is quite high and proper protection is an absolute must!
I was thinking the same thing. Also, although I realize it’s probably due to the need for brevity in a video, wouldn’t it be more effective to let the sunscreen sink in, before adding more wet layers? jmho.
@@florindalucero3236 you’re absolutely right, good shout! it would definitely be best to wait at least 10-15 minutes before applying anything else after sunscreen.

Your cleanser is EVERYTHING! I’m also loving your mascara. I’m typically not a fan of regular formulas, but I wore it to a barbecue last week and after 6 hours in the heat and humidity, there was no smudging or flaking.

I love the way you do makeup! it seems as though the brown crown - that heavy strip of bronzer on the forehead is NOT going away. And when I see you do makeup it just looks so easy and natural yet elevated and glamorous too. Oh when, oh when will the brown crown go away....surely it will be the most noted trend of 2015 and on. We'll look back and think "Whoa, we went in a little heavy with the bronzer" during that decade.

I was just watching Sam Chapman on Instagram, and she said something about a popular new product being beautiful, but less than ideal for the summer heat. So this video couldn't be more timely.
Not to be a platform hog, but I've been strategically implementing a matte primer instead of powder on top of my skin tint, which cuts the shine without feeling as SOLID as powder.

I love the Elevated glow, I used it daily. It gives a beautiful finish and longlasting look. With the skin tint on top, it gives no makeup/ makeup vibes and makes my skin look healthy and fresh. I need to work on the powder placement, I do use different kind of powders to keep my combo skin balanced. I do love the simple eyelook, it will not work for me though, I need to use primer and set it to prevent oily mess. Looking forward to new releases 🧡🙏👌

it gives such a natural finish , nothing else gives me the same look.
J’ADORE Lisa, and this is soo aspirational for me, but I do sort of chuckle when folks go through so much effort to basically recreate what happens to the face naturally during a warm summer’s day. Glowing skin, a flush to the cheek, lips rosy from all the smiling, why go through 9 steps when it will just happen on its own, within 10 min of being outside? a touch of powder on the t zone sure, but I just let the summer lovin’ do the rest 🥰

Absolutely loved this Lisa! Just love seeing you doing everyday makeup. Could you do one for work but specifically perhaps for some of us who may not want to use mascara because we may be sensitive to it? How do we still get sufficient definition without overdoing it because I feel like eyeliner without mascara sometimes can look a bit unfinished, and it requires a certain level of eyeliner

Always beautiful! When you 'fluffed' that strawberry shock lipstick on the lips, it occurred to me how nice it would be to have that shade (when 'fluffed on') in a Baume embrace melting lip formula, I hope someone would write that down as a suggestion if you decide to expand the shade range of BAume embrace melting lip colour

Perfect, like always! ❤ I don't like wearig makeup on hot days, when it all melts and smears around and with every other layer I feel hotter, but if I want to, I like to use just powder, powder bronzer, Your blush (bc it sets and isn't greasy) and some low maintenance lip. Sometimes I also don't use the mascara and brow product. It looks little bit undone, but it don't sweat away. 😅
Here's me buying T6 and T8 tint and mixing it.... sounds like T6.5 is my prayers answered! 🙏

Lisa, I'd love to see your expert take and technique on how you, as a world-class professional MUA, match foundation when the face is lighter then the neck.
Tips on unifying lighter/darker areas in general.
I personally favor lighter shades to account for oxidation and look for more grey tones to avoid oxidization on top of base that is overly orangey, yellowy base.
I've noticed a trend amongst YT beauty influencers, many who are MUAs who go 2, 3 shades too dark. Their too dark initial base swatches then oxidize even more!
On top of that many on YT go hard on contour and bronzer which looks even darker and farther from their natural skin level depth.
Resulting in Oompa Loompa lite! I'm baffled. It looks so bizarre to my eye. I worked for various Estee Lauder companies in the late 2000s so maybe I'm just out of the loop?
