They killed command and conquer, Battlefield, and Battlefront. EA is unforgivable.

I wouldn't say that, since the dlc was only $5. It came with 4 maps, a new game mode for one of the new maps, and 2 new heroes: Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress (technically there were 3 heroes, but the 3rd was just Anakin Skywalker being made playable for the republic, aka before his fall to the dark side). EA may be a company of idiots, but there is no way they would spike the price of a $5 DLC to $60. I could see them trying to sell it for $10 though.

Beside, EA is also the reason why Renderware Engine has been discontinued. Renderware was made by Criterion and used to be a great engine that could be match with modern engine today such as Unreal Engine 4, Frost Bite Engine, RAGE Engine, Source Engine, Cry Engine and Cry Tech if only they continue to use this engine and update it until today but EA killed it. By Max they have done that. They've removed the option to buy the loot boxes and they've lowered the hero price so it only takes around 5 hours to earn a hero. The option to buy the loot boxes will come back but it'll probably only be cosmetic only when the option comes back :)

The issue with that path of action is that the game itself is actually quite fun, and many people will want to play it regardless of the politics. I won't buy it, but so many will that it doesn't matter.

C&C RAR was one of my fav PS1/PC games. Someone revive Westwood and bring back the old C&C series.
The only reason I have Origin account at all is because they released Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge as Free to purchase for a week a couple of years ago.
That's the only purchase I made through Origin, cost me 0 $. Never buy anything else to this day.

Here's my counter argument: Random Lootbox Microtransactions of the nature seen in Halo 5 and SWBFIIEA are not only bad, BUT MORALLY REPUGNANT. What you are essentially doing when you buy a game of this sort, is paying somebody to take your free will to play the game fairly away from you, and then buying it back over time.

The thing about the death threat thing is that they use it as a defense. They see a death threat and instead of thinking “Oh god I’m scared” they think “oh boy another way to get sympathy and turn attention away from what we messed up on”. They use them to manipulate you don’t fall for it unless they have evidence and are legitimately threatened as in it would be possible because they know where the person is.

The problem is not having to spend 40 hours to unlock a character, it's that players can unlock those characters by paying. Being able to get p2w advantages after having to buy a game for full price is absolutely ridiculous.

1st: Star cards aren’t pay to win, they are barely even boosts. Also there are only 5 heros that aren’t unlocked from the start.
2nd: its a good fuckin game, its a super good Star Wars game.
Why wouldn’t you buy a ultra good game because you could potentionaly buy minor boosts that dont even give you a big advantage. If you buy the game at one point i challenge you to play a match and i want you to tell me who fuckin paid for microtransactions and who didn’t, because if they have such a fuckin big advantage you should be able to tell me that. I have played the game for only a few hours and i haven’t paid for any microtransactions at all, yet i only lack two heros and also i get like 40+ kills each match. Fifth, I don't suck at games. I'm level 100 in Battlefront 2015, level 120 in BF1 (I have a 3.14 K/D in that game), I'm max prestige in six different CoDs, I'm in diamond in Overwatch and I'm an exceptional Halo player.
Sixth, it is necessary to jump on the hate wagon because it's the only way to get the changes we want in AAA games.
Seventh and final point: I am a huge Star Wars fan and I think that this is a very good game, but it has sadly been tainted by EA and scummy microtransactions. If pay-to-win stays out of the game, I will undoubtedly but it.

The last game I have bought in Origin for the real money was "Battlefield 4". After this game I have sad to myself:" If they do nothing with cheaters in games, then fuck EA. I won't buy anything from them anymore. And I will keep my word.". What do you expect from EA? They killed the C&C series with C&C4. They canceled the chance to resurrect C&C. They canceled the completion of the game "C&C Generals 2". Instead, they still torment C&C by releasing "C&C Rivals".
As someone who loves to just lay down and imagine I have personally wanted to create a game.. In fact I have so many stories and secrets and lore written down and castles drawn. Although I highly doubt it'll ever be made into a game it's a nice thought.. But the thing that always comes to my mind is "what would people like, what would impress them, what would be unique rather than trendy, and what would be a good story that can relate to actual emotional events?". But not once does the thought "how can I make more money off of this?" Come to mind. Even the thought of DLC isn't about money. DOC is supposed to be extra story, extra lore that you can get out of the game rather than books and comics, Not a way to make extra cash. It's not a business, it's a story.
i think super smash bros handled DLC very well. lots of content to enjoy, but you do not feel like you are lacking something if you do not buy it, since the character/stage slots never appear until you buy the DLC

Titan fall 2 doesn't have loot box boxes or anything. The weapons' skins come in a pack for about 4.99 for 8 skins. But the packs are NOT rng! Respawn does this because they know their player base is small and don't want to lose any more players. Also all DLC other than camos is free. EA has not tainted the Titan fall franchise yet.
