Yeah, as much as I like Anna and Elsa, I admit that calling them super close is a big pile of steaming bullcrap. Elsa almost killed Anna when they were kids, and Anna grew up alone thinking that Elsa wanted nothing to do with her, and they finally reconnect as adults only for Elsa to hide in the mountains, where Elsa almost kills Anna AGAIN, and then all is fine until the sequel where Elsa then abandons Anna and the entire kingdom to go live in the forest and roll in the mud and wipe her bum with leaves and eat bugs and snails and crap. Now they're literally not close, Elsa is physically far away from Anna in a world with no social media.

If we stay to compare with the first Frozen, yes. But TTS from Cass evil arc don't hold a knee on Frozen 2. Anna is so wise in, and Elsa isn't ashamed to be the magic prophetic spirit from difficult lineage.

The series really did Rapunzel some justice! Y'all probably might remember that whole Disney and DreamWorks fandom crossover works called "Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons" that plague Tumblr and RUclips, yeah I wasn't a fan of that fan crossover since poor Rapunzel was turned into a damsel in distress and Jack's girlfriend and later into his ex-girlfriend joke once Jelsa came to ruin everything. THIS series really would had blown the fans minds away and made them treat Rapunzel with respect cause the series made her into a powerful being with her connection to the sun drop and expanded with the moon stone which gave her dark powers!
It got a bit mix with Cassandra's story later on, but damn does Dark Cassandra's design looks badass. And freaking love Zhan Tiri being the last villain and being a demon sorceress disguised as a creepy child. Seriously Zhan Tiri was for me the first True Disney Villain in years and not pulling some lame last minute twist.
It makes me sad that Disney didn't promote this series more and only aired the finale ONCE. It's like Disney wanted to not only finish the series but buried it as soon as it was done! Really a underappreciated series both by Disney and the fandom.

When I saw Tangled, Rapunzel was okay. She wouldn’t be a role model to little girls to me. She just seemed like another boring Disney princess to sell little girls merchandise. When Tangled the Series came out, I was like Wow. They took her and went through her trauma and she doesn’t just get over it. She almost seems like she sometimes has PTSD which is never shown for female characters. She becomes smarter and bolder. Her getting married didn’t seem like her final destination but her ruling. She now seems like she not only can rule but will respect all her people. This is needed more than ever.

I’m so happy that I was wrong! It’s easily one of my favorites shows! I love that you pointed out Rapunzel/Eugene’s relationship development, because not many shows are willing to develop a relationship like this after the movie. They feel like a real couple in the sense that they have realistic conflicts, and are able to overcome said conflicts because their love for each other matters more. Most of the songs are straight up bangers. It’s hard to pick a favorite! This show feels like the closest thing to perfection, and I seriously adore it!
I really hope the upcoming Tiana show will be just as good, especially when developing her relationship with Naveen!

First of all, the Jimmy Neutron show wasn't based on the movie but rather that the movie was supposed to be the beginning of the show. The show was always going to happen but there was a short pilot that has bits and pieces resembling the movie, like the alien villains, but it was ultimately decided for the movie to be the starting point for the show.
Anyway, the show really is AMAZING! Some of the characters do look odd in the new style like Mother Gothel, Rapunzel, and sometimes Eugene. But the show really has become of the BEST animated TV shows EVER. The music is actually better than the original movie and I think the show is even better than the movie itself. Cassandra is my favorite character and I love her journey and her relationship with Rapunzel. The animation is actually meant to resemble Rapunzel's drawing, only with more sophistication to keep it looking too different from the Disney style. I love how this show feels like a true continuation and you can tell that it so so carefully crafted and planned out. I'm hoping that Tiana's show (Yes, it's finally getting a TV series) will get the same care and quality.

AniMat does make a good point of how TV shows based on animated films like Trolls: The Beat Goes On, The Boss Baby: Back in Business, Hotel Transylvania the Animated Series and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs the Animated Series are just soulless animated shows demanded by nobody but the executives in order to still make some profitability from those IPs and continue to run them until the viewers stop caring to continue watching them. And how Rapunzel’s Tangeled Adventure is one of those animated series based on movies that’s actually done fantastically with great heart, effort and creativity from the writers to capture the elements of the original animated film that people loved and expand upon them to make it an interesting continuation off of the original animated film.

I was also really impressed with this show and how it handled its many elements: the characters and their relationships, the animation and art direction, the progressing story, and especially the songs. It was certainly a good choice to binge-watch during the pandemic last year.
Speaking of the visuals, one thing I kind of admire about the show's intro is that it starts off in a CGI setting as the camera zooms in on an open book, leading to the 2D style. It's a pretty clever way of transitioning from the look of the movie to that of the show, like we're getting a glimpse of Rapunzel's artwork and possibly her own thoughts.
If there's one major thing that bothered me about this series though, it's how they handled Cassandra's journey to the dark side. Some of her motivations seemed kind of petty, the way she bought Zhan Tiri's manipulations felt aggravating on her part, and when she finally decided to fully reform herself, it didn't feel earned because of how much damage she caused at that point and rejecting multiple chances at redemption. The only things I liked about her evil self are her cool design and the songs she sang, 'Crossing the Line' and 'Nothing Left to Lose.'
With that aside, this show was definitely worth watching. Now if only Disney made that spinoff with Varian.

Yet, to be honest, I kept on feeling like Zhan Turi had her under a spell that throw common sense that she knew all out of the window and that's another reason why she acted the way she did.

Now this makes me wonder how the Aladdin series did, since from what I gather that series effectively tried to do the same thing for Aladdin what Rapunzel's Tangled Adventures did for Tangled. Especially with Aladdin and the King of Thieves is acting as the series finale, just as Return of Jafar was the series premiere.

Recently I have been seeing a lot of reviews putting it down and tearing it to bits, and that makes me sad because it really it a great series. And I believe it was a better choice for Tangled sequel TV series, than a movie sequel. With a TV series you get to spend more time with the characters both old and new and flesh out their stories more.

The most hilarious thing about this TV show is that a good portion of us went into it because of our love for the movie, but left it feeling more attached to one or more of it's side characters. pfft... Disney really should have capitalized on the series more. I'm saying this as an adult who isn't even part of their intended audience. I'd shell out cash for some quality merch of my faves. I'd even be in support of new content such as books, comics, or a spinoff series.

    • @Soreiya
      @Soreiya 3 года назад +1

@@Potatoesop From my understanding the spinoff was originally pitched as a comic and not a series. :( Though if it was a show I would prefer it to have a few songs. Quality over quantity though. We don't need wasted budget on something like the Hookfoot song from season 2.
It's good that they were trying to create a more diverse cast. It would have been nice to learn more about the other kingdoms and their cultures.
There is one thing that I'm not fond of and that's Hugo being a reused D&D OC. It's lead to the fandom clinging to unsavory bits from the existing character and treating it like canon information... I don't like the thought of Varian being paired with a guy that sleeps around. It makes me kinda sad that so many people cling to this HC. x___X It just turns Hugo into some generic Flynn Rider 2.0 knockoff character... It robbed him of the opportunity to grow organically in the fandom like the other characters have.

Fun Fact: The show's art style was designed by the person, who designed Rapunzel's paintings in the movie. Which I like as it's kinda like Rapunzel is drawing down all these adventures she's going on, as implied by the intro starting in CG but then going hand drawn when it pans into her journal. But here's the fun part that person is Claire Keane who is the daughter of the creator of Tangled, Glen Keane. Which also makes her one of the only people, aside from the voice actors and Alan Menken, to work on both Tangled and Tangled: The Series.

To me...Tangled Rapunzel Adventures is not just as amazing as the film (which is one of my top 5 favorites Disney films of all times)....this show....IS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE......in almost all ways.....I love the CG animation Tangled have, but Tangled the series 2D style and designs is one of my favorites in modern animation media, and the work they did with expressions in this show....is INSANE, and the fact they made it looks this good consistently for a TV show.....blows my mind, the songs of this show....are leap better than most DISNEY FILMS, I can listen to 80% of the show songs as easily as I do for many classics, these will be classics in no time....the characters, I frankly can see a show based on Cassandra or Varian, that's how good the new characters are (seriously Disney, Cass show, make that happen...or at least a comic), and the story, this not just expand the universe of Tangled incredibly well, I'm so much invested in the Animated series story than even the film (again the same film I have in my top 5), this is not just the best sequel any Disney property ever had, this is possibly the best animated show based on a film from Disney in their entire TV history, and easily in the top 3 best shows based on a film ever made (I personally have it in the number 1 spot on that list). This show is just incredible and if you are a Tangled fan you need to watch this show, period.
