Just bought one today with 15000miles on it 2009 looking forward to getting it home I've a k6gsxr 1000 so something to take my wife out on ,, from northern Ireland great video ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
Same bike I have, I’ve done little with it yet because of illness but I have dreams😋 I came down in bike size because my BMW RT1100rt was getting way too much for me to shuffle around abs get out of the garage, I’ve been riding for many years and have been through most generics of machine, sure it’s no blade or R1 but ride it hard or steady and it’s superb with a rock solid engine to give you years and miles of smiles. Don’t get caught up in the cc. Bhp race, just enjoy 😍
Thank you for watching, I love my NT plenty powerful enough for me right now, my instructor had a Yamaha FJR1300 and I thought that looked cool, but I would t feel ready for that just yet 🙂
Good review, thank you. My wife and I toured Scotland years ago by car but motorcycle should be even more! i was looking at one locally here in the US. Low mileage (7K miles). Now I think I am going to purchase it 🙂 safe travels
Very nice. I'm thinking of getting a 700 Deauville which is how I stumbled on your videos. The A697 is my favourite road, so much more interesting than the A1. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip.
Just found your channel and watched part 1 of your Scottish Tour and subscribed straight away. Looking forward to following your adventures Great choice of bike. I’ve had an NT 700 for 12 months now for riding round the Peak District where I live I’ve been riding bikes since I passed my test in 1968. Before buying the Deauville I looked at a Pan European but found it too top heavy and too tall (I’m vertically challenged having an inside leg of 29 inch). I too have my wife ride as pillion on occasion, so being able to be to flat foot was important.
Thank you for watching and I'm pleased you have enjoyed it so far :-). I love my NT it looks and sounds a little different from the Scotland trip, videos coming soon :-)
When were you over? I've been over a few times the last few years, last time I was on my wee Cub which we also made a video about. Liking your stuff so far, will check out the rest of the series.
Great vlog and thank you for sharing. I you tubed for the Deauville as I am thinking about maybe getting another bike for my retirement and want something rather sedate not sporty. I had a Suzuki Burgman 400 for 9 years and loved it, so speed is not my thing, but I quite like the idea of a gentle tourer. I had heard all the stories about it being under powered etc, but from what I can see, it is really well balanced in terms of power vs comfort, sounds just right for me. Once again, thank you and take care.
It never felt underpowered to me, I guess its like everything if you are used to a litre sports bike she would feel underpowered but in the real world two up with luggage she never once felt sluggish to me 👍
I've just found your channel and thoroughly enjoyed this first instalment, together with the quality of the filming, voice over and editing. I did notice, being Borderer that you travelled through Coldstream and then edited you short break at the blue bell inn on the A697 at Crookham, which I put down to artistic license 😁 I'm really looking forward to the next episode of your tour round Scotland, ATB Big Dave Scotland
Thank you for the feedback, I am still very new to this so was really pleased to hear that you enjoyed it 🙂. Good spot on the artistic licence, really didn't think anyone would spot that 🤣
You really made me laugh with buying some oil, I can guarantee you'll never buy oil again, especially with a Honda. Looking forward too your future videos. Ride safe.
Very kind of you thank you. I don't have the NT now, moved onto a new bike. My lastest video explains why and revels the new bike. Thanks for watching and I'm please you enjoyed the video 🙂
Just found your video. I was heading in a similar direction around the same time on my VStrom 650, starting near Bristol, so I was over the Forth Road Bridge a couple of days after you. Off to find the rest of the trip now.
Great bike tour... I'm doing the outer hebrides south to North in may it was interesting to get an insight in to the lay of the land, places to stay...
I'm certain you will have found now you made an excellent choice of Motorcycle, I've been riding bikes now for over 50yrs, was going to buy the ST1300 Pan Euro but an impending Knee Replacement made me think a lighter machine would be better option. We have more or less done the same journey as you but in a motorhome, hope you will continue to enjoy your motorcycling. Good Luck to both of you.
Thank you for watching. A Pan Euro was on my list but went with the NT as it felt like a size down and a bit easier to manage while Iearn the ropes 🙂. I love touring in Scotland we did the NC500 in the back of a Renault Kangoo a couple of years back was lots of fun
Just found you as im buying the same bike later in the year. Nice video, may I ask what your using for your audio (its very clear) and what editing software you using. Im touring wales in April and want to document it. Keep up the good work im now goi g to work through your videos 😊
Thanks for watching..the Mic for this trip was a cheap £7 unit from Amazon I just picked the one with the best real reviews. Editing wise I use Adobe Prem Pro. Enjoy your trip 👍
Just a couple of comments. For those that don't know the area the Bikers Cove is in South Queensferry and the bridge is not really the Forth Bridge but the Queensferry Crossing. The actual Forth (road) bridge is now only open to busses and mopeds. You shouldn't be getting any problems with side winds on the bridge as it has wind deflectors along the whole length, no more closing it to high loads and bikes in strong wind.s.
Thank you for watching and thanks for the info 👍and your right the wind on the Moors was way worse than on the bridge so the defectors must be doing their stuff.
Just discovered this , it was great thanks for sharing. Quite like the idea of an nt700 got a k100lt an old one used it last year for the first time but think it is a bit heavy, though maybe it is just me, also have a cb 500 which I seem.to enjoy more but do not fancy doing the Glasgow to Newquay in a day run on it, but might try it some time.
Thanks for watching, pleased you enjoyed the series. I love my NT700 I have some videos come of bits and bobs I have done to it since the trip 👍 i do like the comfort of a heavy bike on a long trip.
This excellent series has probably been instrumental in getting me to get my action cam up and running, to document my own rides (on a black 2010 NT700, by the way). So... thank you for that! I'm currently trying to sort out a workflow, and I'd be interested to swap notes -- such as, what are the settings (format, codec, frame rate) for the videos you render to RUclips. My videos are a lot quieter than you -- you're evidently a lot more talkative when riding!
Thank you Peter very kind of you to say, more than happy to swap notes. I currently just export from Premier Pro using the default RUclips 1080 pre-set which appears to work well 🙂. On that note which mount do you use for your phone on your bike? Talking while riding took a lot brain training as it's not the default of what I did when riding, trying to find the sweet sport of my talking adding to the videos and not being annoying..... not sure I am there yet 😂. Ride safe
@@mapandlens I recently switched to Davinci Resolve (the free version), and it looks like I can do some stuff with that which I haven't seen Premiere pulling off. I use my phone as a navigation device, so I've improvised a solution with a phone holder that puts it in my field of view -- it's right above the dashboard. If you'd take a look at all my vids (there are two, and they're essentially the same), you can sport it right behind the wind screen, above the instrument cluster. In other news, I'm having some trouble getting photos to you. Are you on Facebook somewhere, by any chance?
Hi, I'm new to biking having passed my test 25 years ago and not riding since. I fancy an NT700 but wonder if that's a good idea with me being so inexperienced. How did you find it as a first bike, and are you still happy with it? Thanks.
Such a shame Honda decided to use the NT1100 as a so called replacement for the Deauville, what a load of bollocks, with it's Big TFT screen and a load of electronics and the huge price it's an embarrassment to call the NT 100 a replacement for the Deauville ! The NT100 costs 17,000 Euro's in Ireland, go and have a shite for yourselves Honda !
I am flying with buying the 650 c.c model at 65 lol! Love the videos!
Thanks for watching, good luck on the bike hunt

Thank you, unfortunately, it was sold before I can take a look at it, I’ll keep looking, but definitely this is a bike I want. Cheers

So I have just found your channel after buying the same bike and I must say I'm very pleased I did! Keep up the good work pal. 👏
Thanks for watching and welcom to the NT club 👍
You drive passed my house on the A697 before longhorsley. Great video, on to part 2 👍🏻
Small world 🙂 thanks for watching. Part two goes live 5pm Sunday

This came up on my timeline today.. As a Scot and a fellow motovlogger i thought i would give it a look. Good so far 👍
Very kind of you and thanks for watching, took a look at your channel too. Love your bikes especially the VFR 👍
@@mapandlens thanks buddy.. Yeh shes special 👍

hahaha thank you for watching, your right though the oil stayed totally sealed for the entire trip 👍
Nice trip with a wonderful machine. Well edited too. Enjoyed it. Keep it up and take care.
p.s. Do you still have the NT700? How is everything now?
Very kind of you thank you. I don't have the NT now, moved onto a new bike. My lastest video explains why and revels the new bike. Thanks for watching and I'm please you enjoyed the video 🙂

Thanks for watching, it's an amazing place to ride, have a top trip 👍
No worries... love the channel ... you and your wife must try the NC 500... that's an amazing experience....
Remember the old adage.
Rain before 7 clear by 11.
Though! It never stipulated on what day.

Hi Can i ask what topbox you using on your honda please. thanks
It was the Givi Monolock, not sure the specific model as it came with the bike but it fit two full faced helmets 👍

How tall are you.. I'm just over 6ft.. thinking of getting a deauville but I felt a bit cramped on it..
In my heart I'm 6ft, but in reality a smidge under that, was around 16.5 stones at the time of filming

The camera is just an old GoPro Hero 3 and the mic is a cheap USB one from Amazon, starting small 👍

Having watched this clip, I noticed you are using your phone as a sat-nav !. How are you charging it?.
USB bike charger, or mains?
I added a USB charge socket to the bike with a kit from Amazon 👍
