I think the more you travel around the World the more you realise that you really don't have to go far from home to find such immense beauty. Cheers for bringing us along mate. Great video.
@Gerry Freeman haha... Yeah I can definitely understand that, but just dress appropriately :) I was up the Watkins Path in Snowdon last week, 40mph winds and driving horizontal rain, one of the most exhilarating hiking experiences I've had. So rain can actually be fun, often in hindsight :)
@@RobbC. Yes I agree. I live in Japan and last week went hiking for the first time since early June because it is too humid and hot. It was a mistake. The heat and humidity was awful and made a great hike not enjoyable. I would love to do this hike.
@@stephenobrien5909 I feel your pain. I've visited Japan 3 times, once in September and the humidity is crazy. But still, you do also have a very beautiful country. The Nakasendo Way is on my hiking bucket list :)
Great comment and totally agree! He's not just a "I only go out when it's sunny" kinda guy. He's all weathers and it really gives a more realistic view of how raw and unforgiving the UK environment can be 🙌🏼🔥
this may be my favorite film of you yet. Despite the road walking (which seemed tough), there was lots of room for pure enjoyment of these spectacular landscapes. I appreciated that you tried to pinpoint some of what constituted that joy, but also left room for us to wonder, which made the film quite intimate. Thanks so much for bringing us along. Seize the day, keep creating, and buy a nylofume pack liner. Love from Amsterdam, Laura
This channel brings me so much joy. I think the lack of music and special effects really makes it feel like I’m there with you Liam and I get such a feeling of freedom from it. Thank you buddy and keep exploring!
Man, that b-role was all kinds of great, you don’t realise how beautiful some parts of the U.K. is until you go and see it for yourself, particularly if you live in a busy city like myself!
@@mesunone Absolutely, I live near Birmingham, and it’s one of the busiest cities in the U.K. so having these breaks to the beauty spots is awesome, thankfully my wife is from the Lake District so we get to go there often! Can’t wait to go see Scotland at last next year.
Despite living in Scotland, I've never been to the Outer Hebrides. You're video has just made me add there to an ever-growing list of places I need to see for myself.
I really like when i found a new RUclips channel for me it's like finding a treasure especially with a fine calm and nice youtuber as u ☺ following from Algeria 🇩🇿
My brother lived on Shetland for a time and I visited. There is something magical about the Scottish Islands. Often described as a 'thin place' where the space between heaven and earth seems much closer. Excellent video. Thank you.
Was looking forward to this Liam. You didn’t disappoint. So professionally produced. Really on a par with some of the best that the major broadcaster put out. You have a real skill in bringing your audience with you and feeling your emotions. Despite the weather and that cold night, you keep your spirits up and still manage to smile, which is awesome. The Outer Hebrides are truly stunning and I really hope you enjoyed being there.
My mum’s side of the family are from the Isle of Lewis and I’ve travelled through South Uist, Eriskay, Barra, Harris and Lewis and loved it! Everyone is so friendly and the scenery is beautiful. Love the simplicity of your videos - no music and just your sheer enthusiasm, walking feet and adventures. Loved this one as I’ve experience of the places. Makes me want to do that trip again! Beautiful. Glad you enjoyed..!
You are a pleasure to accompany Liam - for no matter what happens, you remain happy and thankful for what little you have - a true pilgrim on his own spiritual pathway, for sure! The world-famous beach you mentioned is Luskentyre in English - and Losgaintir in Gaelic - yes, at the end of the road you stopped by for food at 30:00! Personally, I think Seilbost (that huge area of shallow, aquamarine sands and currents where you walk down the hill towards that point) is almost better - Losgaintir is around the back of that hill, at the back of which is an enormous area of sand dunes! I've never been on the Uists, Benbecula, Barra and the other southern islands as yet, but as a friend happens to live on the outskirts of Stornoway, I've been to Lewis and Harris several times and visited not a few of those cafes you passed on your way, among others! I too have been in the Temple Cafe for instance; but feel almost guilty now as I arrived by car! Also, the one right at the end of your walk, among others ... I think my favourite view is that one into the Harris Hills that you capture at 33:33 - just by that garage a mile or so north of Tarbert - but it sure is hard to choose!
What a stunning landscape! Every shot of the scenery was mind blowing. Congratulations on completing the walk and thanks for the 40mins that allows us to escape the crazy world!
Buss shelter use is is such an appreciated thing in my life too (as a runner).... good for you Liam, keep it up... and one day I might ever get to the Outer Hebrides one day myself !
As a 69 year old ex Walker I just love your type of videos, the whole ambience, sleeping under canvas, walking, peat bashing, eating bags of dehydrated mush, it evokes so many memories, reminded me of my old mate who used to,live in the West Midlands and moved to Balranald around 14 years ago, following a walking holiday with his new bride there, they just fell in love with the place (I was his best man ), when they got home they immediately set about planning a permanent move to there and they just love it, both now retired, it is remote and bleak in winter, they live in a small crafters cottage by the sea, near one of the sandy bays thank you for sharing Liam, I have subbed and liked, many thanks, Mike
Distanced cover 156 miles + 300m going back to get camera for fancy shots! Lovely film, thanks for walking, making and sharing. Each video gets better and better
The quality of the authenticity in this video is unreal Liam. From a fellow young adventurer probably similar age to yourself this video gets me highly motivated! I have been wanting to and plan on doing the Outer Hebrides myself but in my caddy Camper and I can relate to that buzz you get from the clarity of being outdoors and sort of having less and feeling so grateful. Great video mate, look forward to the next one.
If you ever go back to Harris, the beach to visit is down that road next to the bus shelter where you were chilling in the sun: Luskentyre estuary - Losgaintir. Spectacular sands overlooking Taransay. Many years ago I spent several months living in the bothy by little loch Fincastle, next to the turning to Losgaintir. Also - the "house in the absolute middle of nowhere" is Horsacleit. I also had the good fortune to stay there on another occasion. Great to see the place again. Thanks for all your hard work!

Hi Liam, thank you for this video, our family spent 6 weeks exploring the Hebrides, 5 kids and 2 adults, we spent out last week on the Isle of Barra, and hires a caravan, just next to the Highland cattle you filmed in this video, as the weather was, tremendous, we had the pleasure of getting a Pizza, (as you know there are no takaways on Barra) just a lady in her own local house, who made her own Pizzas to sell, Barra Pizza, we rented our caravan and took our trip just after lockdown, what a wonderful, wonderful place, ive never felt so peaceful and tranquil, and the weather was actually exciting, Carolyn, who rented us her caravan baked for us every day, what a beautiful soul, she also had a 43 years old Eriskay Pony, those Islands are made of pure magic, and I am so very privileged to have been able to explore them in both summer and Winter, we spent 3 weeks there in 2019, we spent a total of 9 weeks in Harris and Lewis, over time, both summer, Xmas and new year, it looks tropical even on the Winter Solstice, until you step out of the car and get frostbite, many thanks for this footage of a place I love so very dearly :-)
My wife and I were there at the same time! We’re pensioners so in the car. The weather was wonderful, such a lovely unspoiled place. Loved your video story.

You absolute legend, amazing watch and definitely high on my bucket list for 2023, thanks Liam
The Outer Hebrides is a fantastic place. I love it every time I get the chance to go there. It wasn't too long ago when everything was closed on Sunday - even the ferries. Love your vlogs.
Unbelievable video Liam, what a journey. You are one of the best outdoor vloggers on RUclips, keep it up!
