2001 F150 Suicide Door Top Latch Stuck AGAIN!

I fixed this door several years ago by replacing a disintegrated cable ferrule at the actuating plate inside the door center. This time it required a new ferrule on the lock mechanism at the top of the door. Here are the steps I used to get the door open and semi-kluge the fix. It's still a little cheaper than replacing the factory cable/actuator assembly with these flakey ferrules. Ferrules available from several manufacturers by a search for "ford door cable ferrules."
If you can wait and prefer to order/replace the entire latch/cable assembly instead of just the ferrules, for example, the Yinlowa Store ad thru Amazon lists them for $18.99 left or right. One Ford dealer quotes $66.88.
