Anna deserves an Emmy or Golden Globe for her riveting performance. She is the real star of these 9 episodes. Stole the show. With her gone, I feel like the series will seem empty now...
She was a huge part of the show, I imagine the finale is going to be sad
I dont know if I want to continue watching it, Mariko being dead. I love her role. Her character. She makes everything fall in place. Its unreal how much impact she has and I didnt expect this outcome of Mariko at all. Truly disappointing and sad.
Beautiful character 😩
John Blackthorne surely loses the one of the more anchoring aspects. Now he's adrift. It wasn't until Mariko that Blackthorne's character had any real traction at all.
Dude it was ep 9, there is only one episode left, why not watching the conclusion of the show. The final ep 10 will be the biggest of all
Mariko like Hodor in another universe another timeline 🥹
J’arrive pas à me remettre de l’épisode 😢

Anna Sawai immense and deserve every accolade and awards due. Having not read book or watched 80s series, gut wrenching to be relieved she was saved to have her die. But a truly honorable death instead. Amazing. Best show ever.
Ironic how they still kill her off, but changed the lore to kill two characters that didn't die in the books, among other changes. I hate Media Ips that use death as cheap shock value.
Mariko can not be dead 😩😫
We hope saw
Lol she is just human, not super serum injected one. There will be a ton of people being angry if she is alive. As the source materials and history she based on, she was dead after the scene.
I like Ochiba as a real life friend. So scary 😮
She is haha
It would be great if Mariko were still alive, but the historical facts are as follows.
Mitsunari Ishida (Ishido in SHOGUN), who was an enemy of Ieyasu(Toranaga in SHOGUN), tried to take Garasha Hosokawa (Mariko Toda in SHOGUN) hostage at Tamatsukuri's Hosokawa mansion in Osaka, but Garasha refused. The next day, Mitsunari went out to use his force and had his soldiers surround the mansion. When the vassals told Garasha everything, Garasha prayed a little, then gathered all the maids and ladies in the mansion and said, ``As my husband has commanded, I alone want to die,'' and led them outside. . Later, as suicide is prohibited in Christianity, the chief retainer, Hidekiyo Ogasawara (Shosai), intervened with Garasha and committed suicide by setting explosives in the mansion and setting it on fire so that no body would be left behind. Her death haiku was, ``Only when you know when it is time to scatter can flowers in this world become flowers and people become people.''
A few hours after her death, Father Niecchi Sordi Organtino visited the burnt remains of the Hosokawa mansion, picked up Garasha's bones, and buried them in the Christian cemetery in Sakai.
Peaky blinders strikes again “in the bleak midwinter “
Curious to see who allies with toranaga to win this war
I believe the Portuguese.
Ya since they just blasted their fellow Christian
@@tomzhang4088 Mariko has more meaning, when it comes to cause and effect
I cried.
Same here hahaha multiple times 🥺
She held the door..
Nice!
Whose ninja were they is what I really want to know ?

Yabushige betrayed Mariko to save himself, orchestrating the attack on Osaka castle.

a perfect moment, I was at the edge of my seat. Think what was going to happen.
didnt blackthorne marry mariko in the original show and book?
No, she was already married to Buntaro
Shinobi, not ninjas
Thanks for the comment, thanks for the feedback.
Hodorrrr
Original was better. The book even better. This one, not so much. Great actors, the writers should have kept to the book more.
Book and original was white saviour, this is far better.
@@geoffmaloney2717 How so? In the original, he came across as a clueless fool.
My theory, the white dude will be the next James Bond ( after the woke version fails)
my theory is the he will scale the twin peaks of Mt. Fuji after this episode
@@stevebubbie1126 Thanks for the laugh. Yer brutal!
