The upper triple clamp holds it together too. Not just the star nut and handlebar mount.
Just got mine in the mail from the Talaria BOYS great app shipped was fast even a hand written thanks from the guys I'll definitely be purchasing from them again 👍 watching from Detroit
love to hear it! :)
Yall the goddamn best!!! Have helped me so much with my bike so far
Thanks man. Helped me know what I was getting myself into before the install.
Glad I could help
Thank you for the video and the quick delivery of the parts.
Your welcome!
I would appreciate a video on what a direct mount style stem is and if it comes standard with a 2024 Surron LBX
Hi guys,
Why would you always go for a direct mount which will bend or snap the handlebar in case of hard fall, instead of steering tube mount which will most of the time only slide in that same situation ?
Cheers
One thing i haven't heard anyone mention, the eride pro ss 2.0 comes with a "stem lock" by standard that goes all the way through the stem. The warp 9 is way higher quality and beefier but it's doable with some spacers and the stock stem lock
Oh interesting, we haven’t taken apart our 2.0 yet. We will have to check it out.
I’m glad I found this comment. I pulled mine apart and realized that it’s a stem lock, but it is way smaller than not as beefy. I’m still going to run the warp9
@@elimin8or23 yeah I did the same, especially since I already bought it lol. Much nicer top cap too
Have one, but never installed it. Didn't want to have to cut a hole in my front fender. Dirt and grime would get up into the threads too. However, I have another idea. I'm going to grind off the tip where it has the flat spots for a wrench. There is still enough material for strength, just no more place for a wrench. If it spins you could hold it with pliers. Plenty of space under the fender for that, so I won't have to cut my fender.
We have never cut our fenders we just use slightly longer screws and have them hang down a little lower.
@@TBElectric I personally would hate the look of a lower front fender. I watched every single video on the subject of Sur Ron Light B X steering head bearings I could find. The Warp9 rod will not fix the problem of play in the steering head. The problem is not the star nut. That's an assumption. If the star nut shifted a little you would still be able to tighten it back up at least temporarily. Not the case the problem is the bearings do not fit on the stem properly and have massive play from the inner bearing surface to stem. I took someone's advice from a video and wrapped electrical tape around the stem so the bearing fit snug. Made me a little mad that Warp9 chose a star shaped fastener instead of a hex. I'd have to order that tool to even use the stem lock, but it wouldn't help anyway. Both the rubber plug, and the front fender would no longer fit with the Warp9 stem lock which they fail to mention on their website. Love their solid handlebar mount, footpegs, footpeg brace and 3" rise bars that I purchased.
Why not just drill a hole on the fender so it will snug up to the bottom of the triple clamp?
Exactly what I was thinking.
thats a good option
Just did my eride 2.0 and it has a factory stem lock that fits against the bar mount, still need a kit for the spacers and color, but no star nut and best of all the bottom of the stem is recessed and the warp 9 fits inside without fender hole or longer bolts
we noticed that! its a great upgrade and its great that it fits with the fender
What additional kit of spacers is needed for eride
Could yous make a video on how to fit the w9 suspension linkage for the sting r
Yes!
Will it still work if the steer tube is cut down to the 10mm spacer height?
Yes it will.
Should i be worried that no matter how tight I tightened it my steering is still feeling super loose?
make sure your top fork clamps are loose. thats only thing I can think of
This is my fear. I think it's something else that makes it loose not the star nut. My star nut is super tight. As tight as I dare get it before it strips. There should be no play in my bearings at all, but there is a lot. Enough to even see it moving.
What stem u runnin??
