Imagine the running costs of cars like this when things start to wear out, starter motor swap used to be something you could do at work during your lunch break now it will cost more than the car is worth once they reach about 10 years old.

even new ones are the same, before the recall on the turbo filter happened it was a 75 hour long job to replace it and it needed replacing every 35k miles or it my blow the turbo. is only on the S and RS models but this was happening from 2013 to 2018 but the recall only happened in 2022 lol

To think in 1972 my mate and I rigged a wooden derrick in the street and whipped out the engine and gearbox on my moggy 1000 traveller. He took the siezed gearbox for exchange in his frog eyed sprite and I decoked the engine by hand in my living room. Nowadays I struggle to change a battery.

Same problem lol. Have the tools and the knowledge but can’t get up from the ground if I have to lay under or even sit next to the car. It’s easier to just pay a good trust worthy mechanic to do the work. Loving the channel and the variety of the cars in the shop. Tom

Just in case nobody else commented this, but be sure to code the donor engines injectors to the ECU. Might not be a huge problem, but they wouldn't put the codes there for no reason.
