So seeing kdot diss Drake for 95% of that verse I knew it was just all pride and ego, it wasn't for the love of the 'rap game' if it was he would've said it 8 years ago to keep drake straight and he can have great comp. When Cole responded its exactly what I feared would happen, it looks fucking dumb for a dude to get up there and say that album was bad, you take a long time with your verses, etc. no one has had a run like these 3 for this long and no beef or battle will change that. When Cole refers to that competition and being number 1, he's mostly talking about discography and getting on a song with someone else because when he talks about beefing he never wants that cause its just useless toxic behavior that can real violent real quickly. Apologizing, although a fold to the highest degree, was the right thing to do as a man.

He could've just put out some music, but he wanted to stir the pot because he was on an ego-trip. I think when Cole raps about being the best he means lyrically, not from a discography standpoint.
