I went to a convention once and met Kathleen Turner. She told me she had a great time doing this movie. I also had her sign a poster of “Serial Mom” for me. Nothing better than having one of your favourite movies of ALL TIME personally signed by the star herself, framed and hanging on your wall. ❤️
So is “Dracula-Dead and Loving it”! It’s a silly funny but is one of our favorites and we are always mimicking some of the lines. Such as “I SAW everything!” or “We must get to the village by sundown!” and “What on Earth are you doing to the furniture?”😝
When I was 9, my mom cursed at a kid who was bullying me. I'm now 29 and I just saw this film. I immediately thanked my mom for not killing that bully XD
I didn't do any research prior to watching this so I really didn't know what to expect. I watched it for the first time last night and it was so good and so funny. How I never watched this before is beyond me. Would HIGHLY recommend.
Fun fact: Matthew Lillard’s first film role is not Serial Mom but in fact Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go to College. A lot of people never heard of that one.
Probably because it wasn't a widely available movie. Looking into it "Ghoulies" was a franchise set up by Charles Band and he ended up being forced out of his company. Then his films were released from another one and they probably thought that "Ghoulies" was a lost cause so they sold the rights to any future installments.
@@MrParkerman6 Actually it was Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go to College but he’s credited as Matthew Lyn (his middle name), so yeah that film and Serial Mom are his first films. 🙂
really ? how was the experience? i’m always curious to know how it feels when ppl went to go see movies in the 90s because i wasn’t born yet lol 😭 like was it any different from when you go to the theaters today ?
I really love "Serial Mom" (1994) - Official Trailer I have this on DVD. It's pretty cheesy, campy, corny, quirky, silly & still a great 90's Black Comedy Movie with a young Kathleen Turner, Sam Waterson, Ricki Lake, Justin Whalin & Matthew Lillard. R.I.P. (Suzanne Somers) It's a great 1990's classic in my library. It's got some twists & turns. Great cast....SSSSS.
I remember watching parts of this as a 7 year old and thinking it was supposed to be a serious horror film lol. Now I want to rewatch it as an adult after it randomly popped up in my mind
Dear Jw, one time i said if he came to see my family what would a movie he make . he made it. My sister and the hummel figures to. did not meet john until later than this maybe not sure when he was part of artist in a gallery i worked for. a few years later... i cant remember but it was around that time.
This movie never gets tired. The Parents with Randy Quaid, is SM The Sequel. I have it in a dirt cheap cheesy horror collection set. It plays just like it's a JW film. A few minutes in I was thinking it's about time he followed up this. Wrong, not him, anyway if you like this, you'll love Grandma at the end.....
Thanks. I never saw the trailer before. I am in this movie (deputy sheriff behind the witness stand). I worked closely with John and Kathleen. 😉😉😉 It took five days to do the courtroom scene, which is about 10 minutes long. Waters was a tough taskmaster but fun, and Kathleen was fun, too. 😁😁😁
Anyone know of any other slasher's that are more comedy where the killer is having FUN like this movie? The only other movie I can really think of is Sleepaway Camp 2
Quite frankly, I only checked around this movie because I thought bad to the bone was on the soundtrack listing. It’s a very popular song, but I guess I was wrong. It’s only in the trailer at stinks like a skunks, butt

I have a dvd of this movie that’s signed by John Waters😂😂
Wow That’s awesome
Such a wonderful story! I believe Kathleen is the sweetest person 🖤
@@alexfrzn4 Absolutely, I have always liked her.
This movie was under rated, wrongly marketed, and is one of the best movies that only gets better over time. If we only knew back in the 90s!
Definitely, I rewatched this for the first time in a while and I laughed harder than the first time
Hilarious movie. Great cast. Fabulous Kathleen Turner. One of the very best of black comedies.
One of the few movies I can watch over and over!
I absolutely agree. I watched it again for the umpteenth time last night and just about passed myself laughing.
I was 10 years old and in the 90s I knew it was gold!
This movie, as well as "Death Becomes Her", are some of the most criminally underrated movies of the 90s!
"Do you remember where we parked the car" XD lmao

@@tonymata8070 oh yes! My husband and I love that movie! Oh and “Give that man an enema! And another and another until he comes to his senses!”😜
Anyone ever notice how almost every comedy movie in the early 90s had the song "Bad to the Bone"?
Probably because it was used in Terminator 2.
I first heard it in Problem Child which came out in 1990.
The Parent Trap= poker scene!
So glad they only played it in the preview and not in the movie.
Man they must be rolling in money to this day!!
I want a serial grandma sequel to come out
I want the sequel for her to be in prison manipulating the whole system. Lol
Best idea for a movie ever!
OMG
Look up Keeping Mum! 🤣 you’ll be surprised who is Mum
Serial MeMaw
20 something years ago, I thought this was a horror movie the whole time.
The most horrific moment in this movie is when a dog licks a woman's barefeet on command.
Me too
It is! 20 years later and white people are still killing people and getting away with it🤣😭
same!!!
I use to be terrified of this movie years ago... just to realise it's a comedy movie

One of my favorite movies of all time
Note-John waters is the greatest filmmaker
Damn son I’m miss the 90’s I swear y’all can’t beat our generation
Who wee 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love this film. Many childhood memories coming back from being a kid back then.
Kathleen Turner was both sweet and psychotic in this. And Sam Waterston was sweet and innocnt, defending his wife xx Loved this movie xx
"Beverley I've read all about this, is it menopause!?!?"... Lolololol..
Yeah, cheers, we all just heard that too.
Sam Waterston was so sweet and naive in this. Who would have thought he would play the hardest prosecutor in TV history the following year. xx
My late father loved this when he watched it after work RIP dad xxxxx 👤🗣️👥🚴
I remember being scared when I watched this as a kid
And now it’s funny
WHY ARE YOU WATCHING IT
My personal favorite John Waters movie! Had the BIGGEST crush on Ricki Lake...Hell, she can still get it now!
I actually think that Kathleen Turner was the best choice over Susan Sarandon because of *Who Framed Roger Rabbit?*
Kathleen Turner is such a great actress. Definitely doesn't get the credit she deserves.
I didn't do any research prior to watching this so I really didn't know what to expect. I watched it for the first time last night and it was so good and so funny. How I never watched this before is beyond me. Would HIGHLY recommend.
This an insanely crazy dark comedy. It has been my favorite comedy since I was a teenager.
what if u found a new favorite comedy? for growth? u can't stay static. xx
A family movie about a serial killer. Lol! I love this movie when I was a kid.
one of the funniest movies i have ever watched
Serial mom, she's armed and fucking nuts. One of the best lines in the movie.

Is that a young Matthew Lillard?!
Yep. Two years before Scream.
One of my fav movies.
The family screaming in the car next to theirs had me and my friends laughing for over a minute. We just couldn’t stop.

Love this movie so much!
Holy crap. I never knew that was Rikki Lake.
This film reminds me a bit of that darkly comic Blumhouse thriller MA with Octavia Spencer. Hilarious but violent/disturbing at the same time.

Surprised John Waters didn't consider Bette Wilder or Kathy Najimy as Beverly!
There are times that actually did find her more scarier than Freddy Krueger and by now would have Serial Karen.
