“You have a good model in the Messenger of Allah for one who hopes for Allah and the Last Day.” (Qur’an, 33:21)
And it is related from Al-Hasan Al-Basri that some people said: “Messenger of Allah, we love Allah,” so Allah revealed: “Say: if you love Allah, follow me and Allah will love you.” (Qur’an, 3:31)
So if we are to follow the Qur’an that would also include following the Sunnah.

Guys of course men do that too. But I see women do that more than men. But allah knows who does that more. Inshallah all our Muslim brothers and sisters stop backbiting.
Maybe they have done it on purpose, maybe it was just an accident, but I love how they used a group of men as an example rather than women and breaking the stereotype.
It’s odd that it is a stereotype only for women I as a man see men constantly backbiting people 90% of men do it I think it might have been less prevalent among men but nowadays it is very common unfortunately and the only way to change is to change yourself and inshallah some will follow and that can by the mercy of Allah create a chain reaction among people around you because I believe people love authentic people

Alimohammed Well in my experience it is pretty accurate because back biting is not slandering but it is more about talking ill about someone while their aren’t in your presence that is too common as soon as someone finds someone annoying he will tell everyone else

Astaghfirullah I can totally relate to this. It's really hard when they are your friends and they are offended when you stay silent and not joining the conversation. May Allah help to ease our way in following the right path.

SubhanAllah. Such a great reminder for all of us. I have been trying to be a practicing muslim for a few months now. Of all the bad habits, this one seems to be the hardest, to suppress the temptation to backbite. Trust me it's really hard. And the part where the boy was about to open his mouth to backbite but again reminded himself of the consequences, that part felt so relatable. This is what I do whenever I feel like I should join others for backbiting. Self restrain is the key dear brother and sisters, self restrain is the key!

Even my husband who I have been with for almost three decades abandoned me moved out and bully slander gaslight me as we coparent. My husband was able to land a job making major money at my expense. Every man is bought at a price my family members siblings were able to build mega homes from the ground up. It is a bloodbath in LOUISIANA citizens are sacrificing each other like ANIMALS. I have seen RAY LAMONICA/GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS MIND CONTROL some very intelligent people until I have to scratch my head. These officials are so CLEVER DECEIVING until they are charming every CITIZEN (race) to DEATH. They DICTATE everything in LOUISIANA even hospital where they have people who dictate their EXECUTIONS and none of the citizens knew what hit them. They are also training students family neighbors citizens friends covert operations black ops chemical warfare poisoning for incentives even. Even some of the worst criminals are rewarded great incentives (get out of jail free cards) CRIMINAL RECORD ERASED CLEAN.

What a great reminder for us all! Just to add, though, I believe some of the scholars say that you should not disclose to the victim that you were backbiting them. Just stop the backbiting. Or perhaps, as in the video, just make some kind of general apology. JazaakumAllah khairan.

And it is related from Al-Hasan Al-Basri that some people said: “Messenger of Allah, we love Allah,” so Allah revealed: “Say: if you love Allah, follow me and Allah will love you.” (Qur’an, 3:31)
So if we are to follow the Qur’an that would also include following the Sunnah.

The way of he Prophet peace be upon him is the best way. If I'm doubt I use the Qur'an and Sunna.
Tonic Damse yes but when u have the ability to forbid evil you -as a Muslim - must do it and not just stay silent or this evil will spread. Remember one of the reasons that Allah cursed the disbeleivers from can't-israeel is that they didn't forbid evil among themselves

I know that he did advice them at the end but in my opinion, displaying him as a brave character from the start would be better .
It is very hard to speak up sometimes, especially when you used to take part in it. Then you look like a hypocrite. I think the video showed a good transition. Stay silent, and then as it continues, speak up and shut it down insha Allah. May Allah make it easier for us.
Brother, I think you took out of context.. backbiting and speaking the truth are two different things.
You speak the truth to his face when there is some truth to say. But as we can sense in this video, they are enjoying to talk whatever is making them satisfied. "Look at this man, now he is acting like a sheikh man, yesterday he was drunk and today teaching us Islam. " I wrote this as an example. Whether you say these words to a person face to face or you just say behind him. In both cases it goes against Islamic principles. I repeat what I have said earlier, the video wants us to draw an attention on " Backbiting." Your thoughts are not wrong but that needs other debate. Jazakallah khair ❤️
