- Basit Bahram suffers from a rare and incurable genetic disease that causes his skin to fall off. It’s known as Epidermolysis bullosa or EB for short and has resulted in the formation of countless blisters and wounds across his body. Mainly affecting his legs, the disease has taken away his ability to walk freely and even perform simple daily tasks.
In this piece, Basit opens up to Mohamed Hoblos about his trials, tribulations and spiritual challenges. It is an incredibly emotional story of patience, perseverance, and faith.

Today, try to count Allah's ﷻ blessings in your life. Start with your breath, your beating heart, your ability to see, smell and touch, and the ability to laugh. Continue to your favorite foods, the roof over your head, and the people who love you. From there move out to the blue sky, the beauty of a single tree, the sunshine on your face, and the majesty of a rising moon. Keep counting; Don’t forget your imaan (your faith) and your knowledge of Allah ﷻ. That is the greatest blessing of Allah ﷻ and the truth is that you did nothing to earn it; rather it was a gift from Allah's ﷻ infinite mercy.
Also do not forget your safety. So many people in this world live in unsafe conditions; in war, poverty, starvation, refugee camps, political imprisonment, and other forms of extreme hardship. Just to wake up in your bed in the morning and know that your life is not in immediate danger is a great blessing.

We have our problems a lot or little...but still we can have the luxury of watching these..
there are thousands of people whos life cannot even be compared to us..they arent living peace..they are in constant fear and tension of being killed and blown up..they dnt hv food for days..they can go out to work and school and when they return tbey have no home or family. Everyday there is war..stealing of their belongings.. abuse and violence because of their faith or origin.

Indeed very true. I just suffered from a cold and flu a few days ago and lost my taste Sense but Wallah when Allah tests you by taking something you couldn't imagine as very important, that's when you remember but alhamdulillah, He Allah granted me the chance to continue tasting His favours upon me. ALLAH Akbar 😭. He's most loving most merciful. When you call on Him withe sincere patience' He truly responds to invocations.

i've seen this man but what surprises me is the despite his condition, he is always happy
In my life there are some struggles and I was shedding tears . However, my brother Basit
has a bigger struggle. May Allah ( SWT) give him a higher status . Same for his brother
as well . Alhamdu Lilah for their parents especially. With tribulations come strength and
Sabr .

This brother’s story makes me sooooo strong subhanAllah.Everytime I feel like I wana give up...I remember him and two other ladies who are very sick as well and I get up and fight again. Living with chronic illnesses is so hard subhanAllah but I am lucky I was not born this way and I had some years where I was okay AlhamdulillAh.Basit was born this way....tough.May Allah SWT grant him shifaa and Jannatul Firdaws ya Rabb together with his family.

I’m here complaining why I ain’t got paid more from work when everything in life is ok but we all stray away from what really matters and the patience we need to have. It comforts me to know that he's a Muslim, I saw a guy probably in his late 30's who suffered from the same condition, and he had a very sad life, his name was Johnny, and he was one of the nicest people I've ever seen with a lot of wisdom, and sadly he died in a state of kufr, Sometimes the blessing of being Muslim is enough to forget all the agony of dunya

This really inspired me to have more faith, indeed He is the most merciful. It really hard to have such disease, but having strong faith and patience is what really matters. I've been suffering from the psychological impact of my health problem. I was diagnosed with Nephrotic syndrome 5 months ago and I am still fighting for it. This kind of video helps me a lot to be more positive in life. May Allah grant us (people who are sick) immediate shifa and patience.
