      @@PeaceIntheValley Good so far. It seems to have survived me doing the 50 hr service. We have a lot of tree work and my wife is into gardening so having the tractor makes the work enjoyable. I appreciate yours and other guys videos. It really helps. 😊

    A hydraulic top link was one of the top 10 tractor essentials according to a poll by Good Works Tractors recently. You made that installation look easier than I first thought, Bryce.

    A nice honest video.
    No need to use Teflon tape when you have “copper” crushable seals.
    Not a bad idea to leave banjo bolts loose while making sure everything moves well together before running the tractor.
    I just received my top link yesterday. I’m excited to get it installed and put it to use.

      Happy New Year.
      I did, but I’ve either been too busy with the kids, holidays, or it’s been pouring rain pretty much non stop. Though I have used it to angle the weight box for the best drainage.

    With the locking block on the top link you could adjust it as needed and then unplug the hoses if you need to use the remote port for other implements.

    • @PeaceIntheValley
      @PeaceIntheValley  2 года назад +1

      that is exactly right. I usually do that when I have the backhoe on. It's a pretty easy install. My brother just found it was leaking a little at the connection. I need to tighten it up a slightly.

    • @PeaceIntheValley

      Hi Jonathan, That was one of my first questions too. It's the lever under the seat. Left - neutral - right. retracts, stops or extends.

    Shouldn't That chrome wire attached to the TL should be facing to the top to hook it when not in use to the hook

    • @PeaceIntheValley
      @PeaceIntheValley  2 года назад

      that's a good question. If i put the wire on top, then the top link sags in the way of things like the backhoe.

    Won’t the red lock tight contaminate the hydraulics? I’ve never seen anyone use lock tight on hydraulic fittings before.

    • @PeaceIntheValley

      that's a good questions, I'm not sure. I was only wanting to make sure it didn't come loose. So far, I've had no issues. I did change out the fluid after I installed the top link.

    Never add loctight to banjo bolts. If you have to replace the lines you will ruin the threads on the cylinder.

    • @PeaceIntheValley

    One reason would be to free couple of hydraulic connections for something else. The top link is handy tho

  • @behemothwoodlogsplitter57
    @behemothwoodlogsplitter57 9 месяцев назад +1

    It's upside down. That silver thing hanging down is used to hold the top link up when it isn't in use. Most tractors have a clip it goes in.

    • @PeaceIntheValley
      @PeaceIntheValley  9 месяцев назад +1

      You are right but if I put in that way I have to remove the toplink when hooking up the backhoe. If put it on this way, it makes the toplink at a higher angle and I don't have to.

    What lever are you hitting to activate the top link

    • @PeaceIntheValley

    • @PeaceIntheValley

      The positioning of the fuel tank makes it nearly impossible to install the other way. The other problem if you install with the hook up, is the toplink sags when not connected making it hard to hook up to the backhoe. I have had no issues with it installed this way.

    I just ordered an RK25 as my first tractor ever. I ordered the 3rd function but that is in the front controlled by two buttons on the maim controller stick. On the top link, which level is used to control the top hydrochloric link?

    • @PeaceIntheValley
      @PeaceIntheValley  3 года назад +3

      there is a steel rod that comes out from under the seat and it has 3 positions - right, left, center. right and left control the direction of flow to the rear remotes and that includes the backhoe, top link, or anytihng else connected. The neutral position keeps the top link in position.
      The rod is actually a little too easy to bump. You'll know it immediately because nothing connected to the remotes will work.

    What lever operates the top link?

    • @PeaceIntheValley
      @PeaceIntheValley  3 года назад +1

      It took me a while to get past this point before I bit the bullet. The top link is operated by the valve control under the seat. it's the same one that people bump when getting on and off the tractor seat and the backhoe not working right. It has left, neutral and right - forward, stop, back. (that also depends on how you hook it up.)
