@@X_manothat's wrong. You aren't generating an image with a computer for a green screen. An example of CGI is the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. An example of green screen usage is this video; filming in front of a green screen (or blue) and adding a picture or video to it. There is no generation.

Mistakes:
- Didn't let the match's sulphur burn out, generally you want to wait a bit when using a match.
- Lightings were careless - you want to make sure you char entire bowl, all around , and then light all around as well. If you light just the middle part of the bowl the tobacco will not smoke unanimously and therefore it will mess up your smoking in general
- The char and the lighting were quite intense, I prefer to lightly, just lightly char the tobacco, to the point when almost none of it is ashed, just blackened and the humidity has escaped. Then after doing true light i slowly light it around, to make sure entire bowl has been lit and that i have as little ash as possible.

Give the match a few more seconds to burn once you first light it than this guy did. You want the sulphur to fully burn off the match and be wood only before applying to the pipe so as to not spoil or corrupt the flavor of the tobacco.

I noticed you didn't let the sulphur burn off the match before you lit the bowl. Doing that or using a Zippo with lighter fluid imparts a nasty taste to pipe tobacco.

I have followed the advice of blithering idiots, using matches, only after the sulfur (NOT "sulphur") head had fully burned. No difference in the bowls flavor with that or using a zippo. If you've never used a zippo, you wouldn't know the taste. "Just saying."

+Jonathan Meckler Matches are better, pipe lighters burn stronger and give the tobacco an unpleasant taste, but that's just from my experience.

+Jonathan Meckler Good lighter fluid is helpful if you're going to go with a lighter - stick with brands such as Zippo - for butane or liquid fuel - I'd suggest matches as well and the nicer (like Swan) brand that have less sulfur in them. If you are using a lighter (as other have mentioned too) use a soft flame one such as a butane one on a low setting and be careful not to rest the lighter on your bowl's rim. I use a Zippo pipe lighter when matches aren't handy or out side where wind is an issue. I rarely (but have a couple of times) have "tasted" the lighter fluid - is more likely that I was smelling it after I've recently filled the lighter and not really from the burning fluid on the tobacco. If you have a nice briar pipe and are concerned about making mistakes - pick up a cob or two - they're inexpensive and if you damage one it's no big loss

Pipe tabacco is unique. I don't think it's laced with a bunch of other chemicals like cigarettes and it's not an overload of tabacco like a cigar which I like but can turn me green easily. Go to a good pipe shop. They can help get you started.
