I would suggest when you guys were in the back would be to use a tarp. I prefer trailer tarps like from harbor freight. Mulch over the leaves once or blow them into a pile. Pull the tarp up beside the pile then just rake onto it. Then fold the tarp up and squash the leaves down if they havent been mulched, open then drag to the next spot and more. If mulched then fill it up and drag it the vehicle, wrap it up and throw it in the truck. Get a couple of these so you can do multiple piles or open one up in the back of your truck and dump your tarps into it. Super fast and clean.

@@kidwoohkidwooh if you have a lawnmower with a bag on it but you can also fill a bagger up very fast so by mulching it down or blowing/raking the leaves onto tarp you can take a huge amount to the trailer at one time. The tarp allows you to unload quickly as well. This yard Wyatt did was very small but if he is to do larger, you would have to figure out a way to get more on his truck and thats what I was explaining. I a rackem bagger for my stand on and after I mulch the leaves a few passes then ill put the bagger on and then drive it to the truck full but you would have to do this multiple multiple times bc it fills up so quick.

Good job. The county I live in does free curb side leaf pickup for two weeks every fall so that's when most people want cleanups done, all blown to the curb. What I did for when the occasional person wants them bagged, I took one of those big round trashcans and cut the bottom out. Sit it upside down and put a bag in it, after its full just tie the bag and lift the can right off from around it. Saves a ton of time, pain and annoyance from trying to lift a full bag out of an enclosed can.

Got a tip for you brother, invest in a lawn vac... Mulch the leaves with multiple passes makes them almost dust then vac them up saves a TON of space I've started my own Lawncare business I use a 2012 Ford Transit Connect for my work horse. I chose it versus a truck since it's basically my truck/trailer + mobile office I put everything in leaf bags(the paper brown ones) then put em curbside at my house. Good to see another young man in the business people always told me because I'm 19 my LC business wouldn't succeed here I am season 2 with 6 new customers that belonged to my former employer

Bud charge by the hour. A house with 1 tree vs a house with 20 trees is a lot different. Even if you charged 2.5 times on that other house you would short changing yourself. $75-100 a man but that includes dumping fee. Goodluck you guys are doing great

Great job man! You guys work hard & fast! Great techniques & advice for newcomers. Keep up the good work!!
I strongly suggest you make sure you charge for all your expenses:
    1) Labor
    2) Travel/Equipment Ex: $25-50 ( for gas & for how far you have to travel -- I assume the job was close by)
    3) Dumping Fees -- I don't care if you dump the leaves in your back yard forest, still charge at least $25-100 for dumping. It will bring profit & help grow business. You are providing hard work, but more importantly, a convenience to the customer. You don't have to gouge your clients, but be fair to yourself.
    > That will ensure you grow & flourish. Obviously, price fairly, but sometimes leaf jobs can beat you up in labor costs, gas to run mowers/blowers/equip for longer periods of time. And, again, the dumping fees. Leaves are easy to compost, but not everyone takes them -- Because they're a BULKy item, charge accordingly.
    > Also, charging and making "profit" on all these jobs ensures that in a year or 2, when your blower needs repairs, or needs to be replaced -- You can actually afford that without any stress or discomfort. That way you're prepared & growing all the time.
    Suggestions:
    a) Unless you're uncomfortable with it OR client wants to do themselves, you should clear gutters at same time. One less thing the client has to worry about, and extra labor you can charge for, instead of searching for more work elsewhere. (They have pole attachments you can attach to hand blower [STIHL] so you don't even have to get on ladder -- however that house had low gutters anyways).
    b) Mow the back with the Toro TimeMaster, then blow those patio leaves & garden leaves on back lawn & mow again. You probably could have mowed 2-3 times & saved a lot of dumping can space. Takes about the same amount of time.
    Goodluck man!!

Menards and Lowes, etc, sells those brown disposable lawn leaf/maintenance bags. I've seen the sell for around 5 for $2.00 here. They are still lighter than a can moving around. You can load them in a trailer or truck. I've had 15 before and drove them to a country friends house. I dump them and the bags can be reused even though they only cost about .40 cents each.
I'd hire you and your brother anytime to work on my property. Nice pricing job too. Let's say that was the only job you had that day. $100 for 2 hours for 2 people is still $25 an hour. Not bad. You both show that work IS available to anyone willing to apply themselves. Check out Spencers lawn care. He's in Ohio too, like me. He and his wife make a pretty funny team to watch.

Just a tip as a long time landscaper. Don't cut people shrubs if you don't know what they are. I'd be pissed if you came thru and cut my hydrageas and flowering bulbs. You can't just cut shrubs whenever you want or you risk cutting off the blooms for next year. Also some things bloom only on old growth aka those hydrageas. So if you cut them they won't bloom again the next year. You have to know the timing for each type of plant and how to prune. If you don't want to do it just stick to lawns and blowing leaves.

Go with a HD Dump Truck with a 10 ft. Bed not 8 ft. A 2 man co..like yours can go a week without dumpimg. You can haul material for your planting and landscape Construction jobs. You will out grow a pick up truck w/ dumper quickly. You want to grow into machinery. Started Small just like you when all that Labor saving equipment was coming out. Such as Back.packs, Gas trimmers and Weeder, plus walk behind Big mowers. No Stand ups back then. We were Old School stand the 5hp Gaint Vac push blower on its side to blow out the hedges with another guy working a hooked stick to help pull out the lesves, Cira 1973. Good LUCK and Stay Dry. I recommend first rake the flowers bed and trims the bushes and loaded in the trash can instead of to the grass, because you spending way too much time mowing the grass...plus when you push all the trash from flower bed to the grass...you pretty much putting all the weeds that has weeds seed to the grass and you’ll have bad weeds in the grass in the spring time...and early summer
