Thank you! It was one 'wow' after another. Must see it over again. The house seems so intelligently executed. There is a balance between light and dark that works perfectly. I must go see it in person, and climb up the relaxed stairs, see the 'to die for' stained glass, and the intricate bedposts, and, the gardens...wow. There are a lot of details that were thoughtfully done including their choice of curtain colors that blended into the floors. Thanks again and also for the amazing videography!

It was great to visit the fictional Pemberley, they had copies of the white shirts in the house which you can borrow and walk around in which I wish we had with hindsight. Hi Neil and Ant hope you have had a good day. We have been eagerly awaiting this and what a treat it is inside with a wonderful commentary which really brought the history of this fantastic property to life. We loved the ceilings so beautiful and the rich golds and reds. Wow the drawing room was really beautiful and the stained glass really set it off perfectly. The saloon was another favourite what a room for entertaining in magnificent. The teddies on the bed were a nice touch. Wow the bed in the knights room was lovely would have been a great feature for a horror film. Pity Ant wouldn't take a dip in the lake we would have enjoyed that 😆. How lucky to get the extra tour, we loved the ghost story always enjoy a spooky 👻 tale. Wasn't the orangery lovely, there is so much to see in the gardens too. This house reminds me of Wentworth Woodhouse with its Palladian east side and its baroque west side. I like both styles so I'd be right at home in either house.

Lyme really is superb so much to see there and pretty much all the furniture and paintings still there which tells such a wonderful story of the Legh family's collecting over a 700 year period! I think our favourite room is the Drawing Room it has literally everything we love... the ceiling, the fireplace, the paneling and the wonderful glass... not to mention some fabulous art! It would be amazing to see Wentworth Woodhouse furnished , these houses need to be dressed to bring them " to life"... We hope you have a great weekend and we send you our best wishes... As for Lyme Park, I literally exclaimed out loud, "oh my God!" when you showed the long gallery. Truly, a national treasure.
@wixom01 The Wentworth Woodhouse Trust are working wonders with the place, already re roofed [ so important ] and the enormous stable block which was almost derelict is currently being restored to its former glory... hopefully more internal refurbishment of the house will follow! Totally with you regarding the long gallery it really is wow! 😊

Wow! Lyme park is really beautiful both inside & out! It also brings back such fond memories of Pride & Prejudice. My favorite version, starring Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle. They truly had the most electric chemistry between them as Mr Darcy & Miss Elizabeth Bennett. I loved that version! Seeing this beautiful place again is just wonderful. I also really loved the 'Servant's Quarters." It is so rustic & charming downstairs in that area as well. For me personally I would much rather live down there, as I love that rustic charm. It was also so nostalgic to see the "Pond' that Mr Darcy dove into just before he ran into Miss Bennett. What an intense scene that was!
As Neil said, though, Anthony, it really would have been something to see you donning a puffy sleeved white shirt & diving into the Pond there & re enacting that scene. Or maybe even in your Micky Mouse T Shirt. A kind of modern day Mr Darcy if you will. Perhaps not quite as effective as the puffy white shirt version, but still quite charming none the less. I mean who doesn't love Mickey? LOL. In the grounds, though, what I loved the most was the Orangery. That was just beautiful! I loved it there! Too bad Mr Darcy didn't show this to Miss Bennett. That would have 'clinched' the engagement for sure & right away. LOL. Indeed! Thank you for sharing another delightful experience at this wonderful place! Blessings to you both!
Hi Annie! Thank you so much, what a wonderful comment! We loved the series too... we felt all the emotions when we visited Lyme... I think Miss Bennett would have made a wonderful mistress at this house! The Orangery is so beautiful the water feature in there adds another dimension with the sound it creates echoing... The house is just an absolute joy to walk around it flows beautifully and ascending the staircase really was amazing, we felt very much transported back in time.
