Rest in Peace to the Great Actors from Gimme a Break...
I still watch rerun of Gimme a Break Today! All the older adults die. And the kids all grown up. Marriage with children of they own. RIP to the cast who pass away.
Also Pete Schrum (the Chief's brother Ed Kanisky), Jane Dulo, Elizabeth Kerr, and Eivia Allman (all three played Grandma Kanisky), Fred McCarren (Joey's dad Tim Donovan, appeared in one Season 4 episode), Rue McClanahan, Ben Powers, Paul Regina, Arlene Golonka, Florence Halop, Eugene Roche, Frank Bonner, Alice Ghostly, Donnelly Rhodes, Andy Gibb, Sammy Davis Jr, Lynne Thigpen, no longer with us.
Whitney did not star as herself in Gimme A Break. In the one episode in which she appeared, she played Katie's friend named Rita. She did however appear on Silver Spoons as herself.
@Tony McNeil true however Whitney nearly starred as Sondra Huxtable on the Cosby Show and actually auditioned but didn't want to commit to the role as she feared it would interrupt her music career!🤗📺🎤⭐
He got it mixed up with Silver Spoons.
..... EXACTLY!.....AND THEY DIDN'T MENTION CARTER'S DEATH....SHE PASSED WAAAAAAY B4 WHITNEY....SUCH AN INCOMPLETE STORY🤨
i remember lynne thigpen playing nell's sister loretta in a few episodes & she passed away less then 2 months after nell carter
...😥😥😥
I just started watching this show on cozie TV I was born in 1986 I'm 35 years old now and I like this show
I loved nell soo much .watching it now on Tubi..
When I see John Hoyt's name on the closing credits of Hogan's Heroes, I automatically think.. Grandpa Kanisky!
RIP Yall 🌹🎈🙏⚰Amen
Definitely remembered when Dolph died
I remember, Nell did a voice-over right before the first episode of the new season following his death, and they did it live to show the raw emotion from the cast.
I read Dolph died 2 weeks before the final episode of the season aired. They decided to scratch the storyline when Julie ran off, and just had her already married when the new season started.
If you're wondering, or unaware of how he died, it was stomach cancer.
@@chitownphxmanActually Dolph died 3 days before his final episode aired and his funeral was a few hours before the episode aired. I’ve read that Nell Carter gave the eulogy at his funeral.
I’m 44yrs old and I still watch this show on cozi tv 🫶
*Houston appeared in only one episode for those not familiar with "Gimme a Break"
Do you know which episode it was?
Season 3 episode 20 Katie's College.
Someone should check Whitney's last name.
Whitney didn’t play herself, she was Katie’s friend and business
I think he got his facts mixed up with Silver Spoons.
I meet her Rosetta when she came to Yonkers ny when I used to work at Burger King in cross county in Yonkers New York ❤❤❤❤
June Pointer of iconic musical act in the 70's and 80's "The Pointer Sister's" also appeared in an episode. June passed away in 2006.
Funny how it showed Howard Morton with Jean Stapleton! Simpson always reminds me of Edith Bunker.
He appeared on an episode of All in the Family in its last season as a funeral director and had a bunch of scenes with Edith.
RIP Nell, Dolph, Howard, John & Andy!
Houston is spelled wrong!
U forgot about Andy Gibbs
I was expecting to here Andy Gibbs or Sammy Davis Jr.
That show still comes out on TV and The show Amen and little house on the prairie..
Also remember that Rue McClanahan was in the 1st season as well
She did two guest appearances on the show. One in the first season and again in season 4.
I don't remember Whitney Houston being one Gimme a Break. Even if it wasn't but one episode
She played a friend of Katie
Actually John Hoyt passed away in 1991 not 1987.
Well at least in this video they talked about the main cast with the exception of Whitney Houston because in most of the previous videos when they talk about the cast that dies from TV shows they name me talk about the guest stars and try to portray them as the main cast but in this video they actually talk about the main cast who died like I said with the exception of Whitney Houston rest in peace to everyone cuz this was one of my favorite shows
I have the whole box set
I do too. I think it is a lot of fun!
Whitney Houston was on there?
Whitney Houston did not appear as herself in 'Gimme A Break!', because technically, at the moment, she wasn't "Whitney Houston the superstar " yet. However, one year later she was, and played herself on 'Silver Spoons". 😊
Whitney did not appear as herself. She was a friend of Katie’s who went into the boutique business with her.
Hoyt died in 1991.
How y’all gone spell houston wrong ?
Nell Carter would've been 73
Dolph Sweet would've been 101
Rosetta Lenoire would've been 110
Whitney Houston would've been 58
John Hoyt would've been 116
Howard Morton would've been 96
Lynn Thigpen would've been 73
They forgot Lynn Thigpen who played Nell's sister.. She played on Lean on Me and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego,
It's Whitney Houston.
