I lived her even more after she was on a TV special fundraiser for the AIDS crisis and acknowledged that her brother had died with the disease...i remember so clearly that she said her family was ashamed but she knew that if we didn't talk we wouldn't erase the stigma. I lived her so much more after that evening.

I think it is sad that so many celebrities chose to be cremated with no final resting place but to each his own. I loved Nell Carter and I had a teen crush on Samantha. We are the same age! I saw Nell Carter a few months before she passed. She was singing with the Dallas men's choir, The Turtle Creek Choir. She had a beautiful voice and made a few jokes. I was surprised when I heard she had passed. She passed away on my mom's birthday. Good blog!

Memory Lane Trips With Steve oh yes great guy and generous with his time and charitable. I still have one of the many cigars he gave me , a Dunhill Havana natural leaf. When I first knew him he taught me so much about comedy , timing , picking your spots and cigars. Back in 1974 I was smoking the cheap machine made Optimo Palmas, which he said he smiled decades earlier, said they smelled like a World War 2 tee shirt. He said if you’re going to smoke , don’t smoke junk.

I recently started watching it again on Antenna TV and I tell you I love it even more as an adult; it's such a classic show that tackled real life issues! A real gem! I also remember the episode with Milton as he played Rue Mcclanahan's father, who wanted her to marry Grandpa Kanisky!

Give Me A Break was very funny show. It lost some of it's luster, when Dolph Sweet passed away.
I agree. I think the last season was awful. You could tell they were just running out of ideas. They were just reaching.
I was a big fan of the show! It was a great ensemble of characters that worked well. But of course Nell was the heart and soul of the show.

She died from complications from diabetes, not from drugs. and yes her death was very sad.
