Absolutely loved this viewer's tour. Everyone did a fantastic job and I especially loved Jim Varney and Benjamin Orr from the Cars. Both taken too soon.
I originally put this on because knew my Dad would be interested in Regis Philbin’s grave. I was amazed at how much history I learned and was reminded of. Thank you and everyone who helped create this.
Thank you Arthur and those that took part. This was the best yet. Dick York - needs a much better grave - sad that this is all that he is given. A very good actor and very funny. .
This may be one of the most beautiful, yet melancholy, videos I’ve ever watched on RUclips. (I especially loved the famous celebrities’ gravestones in OHIO. 🤠) Thank you for posting this nostalgic walk down memory lane. 🪦🙂🪦
My fiance and I went out last summer and filmed several of these in the video! Thanks very much for putting these together. She introduced me to the channel not long after we met and I've become a fan as well.
Fun Fact: at 19:20, the wilted flower on James Thurber's marker was reproduced from his illustrated fable "The Last Flower" (1939), which he considered his masterpiece. It's brief, haunting and timely as ever, well worth checking out.
I’m glad that I filmed that monument. That entire hill is graves from the 1918 pandemic. Truly heartbreaking to know that we’d gone thru that just 100 years ago and here we are doing it again. My condolences on the loss of your grandmother. Mine got that flu as well but she “recovered.” She didn’t die but was never as healthy as she had been.
It's amazing how this brings back so many memories. Out of sight, out of mind I guess, but it's so enjoyable to be like "oh I remember that/them". My absolute fav 🖤
These are marvelous, touching in content with excellent production values. How appropriate to end this offering with the tribute to Dick York, who suffered so and died a sad and lonely death. May he and all others Rest In Peace, free from pain.
Another great tour. Your contributors are great, but your lively, informative narration brings it all together. My daughter and I love it when we see that you’ve posted a new “Hollywood Graveyard”.
I wish you had been able to include the grave of Mia Zapata, who was the lead singer of The Gits. She was murdered in 1993 at the age of 27, just when the band was on the verge of major success. Nirvana, Pearl Jam other Seattle bands contributed money to hire a private investigator to continue looking into the crime when the case went cold. Joan Jett also contributed & went on tour with the remaining members of The Gits to raise funds for the investigation. Mia's murderer was finally found & arrested in 2003, He died in prison in 2021. Mia is buried at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
I agree. A visit to Louisville cemeteries is incomplete without a visit to Cave Hill. Perhaps they missed it because they were lost. Kentucky is in the South and not the Midwest.
@@donnanoe6736 There's always a chance they may revisit Kentucky (they probably just included it in the Midwest due to its close proximity to Ohio). If anyone who is a fan of this channel & lives in Louisville, I personally would love if you took some footage of Mia's grave and others at Cave Hill to include in future "Hollywood Graveyard" videos. Her story was so tragic and she was such a talented artist.
I worked on the grounds crew at Greenlawn in Fort Wayne when Dottie Collins died. I buried her. Block 19 just south of the mausoleum. Being that A League of Their Own is one of my favorite movies, it was very cool to be the one who got to lay her to rest.
I am loving this series. My grand parents used to live and farm the "Point Farm" in Ohio where President Benjamin Harrison grew up and was given to his father by his grandfather President William Henry Harrison. Hopefully more submissions can made in the future and perhaps there can be a part two for all of the states you cover. This was fascinating. Thank you for sharing and compiling this Arthur. I've met so many of the stars I see on Arthur Dark's clips but the one on my dear friend Dick York makes me kinda sad. I spent time with Dick and his wife Joey in Rockford, Michigan in 1992 just before his death as we were working on a book together. I'm gonna see if I can get Dick and Joan buried side by side. More on that later. I met Ermma Bombeck in Paradise Valley in the 70's. Sweet women and funny as all get out. RIP all the legends I've had the pleasure of meeting in my 50 year career as a writer/biographer.
When did movie stars become so dark and Satanic? Was it when the elite realized that an actor like Ronald Reagan could become the president? I heard that after the Reagan was shot, he was given two hospital choices. One meant certain death and the other he would survive. Today’s stars are comprised Epstein style. Keep them on a leash.
Thank you Arthur for such wonderful work. You bring all of these dear souls back to our hearts and memories if only for a short time. I know I am grateful to remember such wonderful(mainly ) people in a most relaxing way. God Bless you

One video Idea I've had for a while, is maybe for May the 4th, could you do a Star Wars special, similar to the ones you made for Disney and the Wizard of Oz.
I had no idea Jackie Wilson was buried about 20 minutes from where I live. I'm used to all the celebs at Woodlawn (Which is next to the Cemetery my grandparents are in) but I may need to visit the guy who made it so I can't stop singing his song for weeks after watching Ghostbusters 2
Thank you for including James Jamerson . He was so talented that his parts were not written out for him , as is usually not the case with studio musicians. Unfortunately he worked for Motown who payed poorly. He stayed with them as he was promised the opportunity to record jazz records , which were either never recorded or never released . Frustrated, he became an alcoholic. Please see the film " Standing in the shadows of Motown ". It is excellent.
Marvin Gaye had James play on “What’s Going On”-who showed up to the session drunk! James insisted that he could still play his bass. To prove it James laid down on the floor of the studio and played with no problem. There’s a video of Marvin playing “What’s Going On” via piano and James Jameson on bass right next to the piano
Thank You for the Toledo love! You know there is a marker for the Edmund Fitzgereld in Calvery Cemetary not far from the cenotaph for the Captain. Dave Thomas was an advocate for adoption and did a lot of donations to help places. Wendy was adopted. Dillinger robbed the bank on Monroe Street in Sylvania, Ohio. He is said to still haunt it. The site where Ronnie Van Zant died with his band mates is in Indiana.
I have watched many MANY of your videos but thus far this is the one I love the most...some of my family on my mothers side is buried at Lake View...I remember doing ancestry work and seeing other notables who were also there..in great company. My mother and grandfather are buried at Mt Oliver. I rarely can visit and I'm armed when I do.
@kelly lee….it’s truly a shame…my parents grew up in the area and went to Denby High…the area was good then and even though the houses were old, people took great pride in them and their neighborhood
I discovered your channel 2 weeks ago… And holy smoke I love it, from the picaresque and almost abandoned cemetery, to the city centered one… You share with us the life of our beloved.
It also shows me an entire culture which I don’t really know, humorists, musicians or actors from a very large year range. I will definitely focus on the cemeteries here in France.
Play catch-up with all the videos
Thank you Arthur for bringing these inspiring stories from the grave. I love how you narrate the stories of their lives and what they did to bring inspiration to a lot of people. Please keep them coming.
One of my favorite movies of all time is "The Untouchables" . Kevin Costner played Eliot Ness In movie version. Thank you for visiting Rosemary Clooney also I enjoyed her proformance on an episode of "ER". Her nephew played a doctor on the show. Thanks for visiting everyone else also.
What is so fascinating about HG is how many talented people we lost over the years that either helped carved the world to what it is today or helped us Grow up and laugh and entertain us.
Such amazing stories.
Ty Arthur!
As a Michigan native still living in MI, I find it interesting to see all those famous graves here. Hope some day to visit most if not all of them
Poor Dick York - just a superlative actor. I remember him in the film "Inherit the Wind" with Spencer Tracey as well as other roles.
I always look forward to looking at Hollywood Graveyard and hearing the smooth, soothing, warmth of Arthur's voice! No matter what I want to watch while browsing if I see Hollywood Graveyard I immediately go to it! I love also that he is so respectful to these great people. Thank you Arthur for being around so long and hope you will always be there.
Everything about your videos is amazing, but the most amazing is the amount of research you do to give us a great background of each person's life.
I have many family members buried at Woodlawn in Detroit and have visited that beautiful cemetery many times over the years being born and raised in Detroit. Love that you featured it (and other Detroit cemeteries) again. 😊🌺
I have watched everyone of your videos, but for me this was the best. It has hit very close to home. Georgie Molchan, or Little Oscar is a cousin buried in the same cemetery as my parents, grandparents, and uncle & aunt. It was always funny to see him at the supermarket with friends, and tower over him. He had a sister that was a midget too. I a
It's a dark and rainy night here in Portland OR and this Hollywood Graveyard made it more pleasurable... Loved every minute of it...
Saddest words ever spoken - "and that concludes our tour." Thank you, Arthur, for another great presentation. Looking forward to the next one. Stay well and thanks again for sharing al these wonderful memories of persons gone past with us! Time for my hot coca in my "Hollywood Forever" mug! Hope to see you soon.
I remember James Best as "The Guitar Player" from "The Andy Griffith Show" back in the 1960s. He only appeared two times, but these episodes with him are some of my favorites.
I remember George Peppard from the A Team he was my favourite person!! And I like Dick York too from bewitched he was a lovely person!!!
I sat down for lunch and watched Hollywood Graveyard my lunch Mini Ravioli’s!! My childhood favorite and still to this day!
Hahah not to healthiest food but agree they are GREAT now and then. LOL 👍😋
Ron... There's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't do this episodes. This is also keeping them alive and helping to let therm rest in peace. These stories absolutely have to be told.
It was fun getting footage for the video, Arthur, and a huge thank you for including my 3 clips starting at 47:14
Thank youArthur for editing the viewer’s specials. I must be a labor of love.
Absolutely loved this viewer's tour. Everyone did a fantastic job and I especially loved Jim Varney and Benjamin Orr from the Cars. Both taken too soon.
Benjamin Orr...
Dick York spent his final years working to help people in need. Bless him.
Yes! This is what my Saturday needs. Love when you post a new video!
I originally put this on because knew my Dad would be interested in Regis Philbin’s grave. I was amazed at how much history I learned and was reminded of. Thank you and everyone who helped create this.
I enjoy The A - Team George peppard R I P
It's so cool to get the light history of each person.. If the would have taught like this in school I would have loved to go everyday .
Really like this video it's so interesting thank you.l l love history
Thank you Arthur and those that took part. This was the best yet.
Dick York - needs a much better grave - sad that this is all that he is given. A very good actor and very funny. .
Dick York was in the tv 📺 show bewitched
Wow - you do such a spectacular job with these! Thank you for your thoughtful, sensitive and accurate description of the death of David Mark Berger.
Regis is missed very much on TV. Rest peacefully Regis Philbin.
This may be one of the most beautiful, yet melancholy, videos I’ve ever watched on RUclips. (I especially loved the famous celebrities’ gravestones in OHIO. 🤠)
Thank you for posting this nostalgic walk down memory lane.
Always loved Thurber. Thanks for the recommendation, I will check it out.
We all (fans) wait for these videos with baited breath! Always a joy when they pop-up. Keep up the great work Arthur!
I love all your videos, and this one was especially interesting for a Midwest girl. Thanks to all of the contributors!
Wonderful as always. Thanks Arthur, your narration is always a joy to listen to. Thank you viewers
OMG! My grandmother is buried in Calvary taken by Spanish Flu in 1919. 200 feet from that marker. ❤️
I'm a truck driver and after a long drive it is so relaxing to watch and listen to this guy, I get so excited when a new video comes out
Ps) THANK YOU ARTHUR DARK. Your work is the absolute BEST. I look forward to every episode. Thank you❤️
Yes absolutely. He is so through and he enunciation is perfect.
It's amazing how this brings back so many memories. Out of sight, out of mind I guess, but it's so enjoyable to be like "oh I remember that/them". My absolute fav 🖤
That’s the best part, these people featured bring back memories!!!
These are marvelous, touching in content with excellent production values. How appropriate to end this offering with the tribute to Dick York, who suffered so and died a sad and lonely death. May he and all others Rest In Peace, free from pain.
Dick York was in the tv 📺 show bewitched
Thank you to all that made this possible. Very interesting, educational and entertaining. These tours never disappoint.
This has been a great series. So many great contributions and a wonderful delivery.
Been watching for years . The best at what he does ,like a history lesson .
Another great tour. Your contributors are great, but your lively, informative narration brings it all together. My daughter and I love it when we see that you’ve posted a new “Hollywood Graveyard”.
Wow! Another great video. I’m from Ohio, and I never knew there are so many famous people who were buried here. So very interesting. Thank you. ☮️💟
Blessings - Judith 🎭🎵
The Pawn Stars are related to President Harrison
@@michellenainkristinabusch1221 Really? Fascinating. Do you know how?
@@judithmitchell4667 Old Man Harrison said in an episode that they're very distant relatives. Didn't specify how, although I'm assuming cousins.
@@michellenainkristinabusch1221 Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
God Bless you
I was so excited when I saw a new episode. Great job everyone.
Thank you Arthur as always, something soothing about your voice when you are narrating the videos, always sad when they end, great job as always 😀
Thanks for covering Lake View Cemetery. There is so much to see, and worth the time to visit.
I love Arthur's Hollywood Graveyard ......and telling the way they died is very interesting
The doctors put their dirty unsterilized fingers into Lincoln's hole in his head to feel for the bullet . No one knew about germs back then
Thank you so much, for this wonderful series. I truly love it!
I always look forward to these videos. It's like I'm listening to an old friend now and the amount of research for each grave is astounding. I can't travel much, so these videos help me see the world through lessons from the dead. Can't wait to hear what the South's video will be like. Also...I always heard Verne died of suicide related to alcoholism.
One video Idea I've had for a while, is maybe for May the 4th, could you do a Star Wars special, similar to the ones you made for Disney and the Wizard of Oz.
I like the "Star Wars" idea but there's the obvious problem. They all died "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... " ;-)
True and funny
@@kingbrutusxxvi correction, they all died along time ago and are now in a galaxy far far away...
Not a galaxy far away, but a cemetery far, far, and far way..
Yep luv Arthur's voice.. and history's of all he gives wonderful acknowledgement to all he mentioned with great dignity..
Me too!
I have been to Ryan Whites resting place twice...the marker is tall as that was something Ryan wanted to be as i have come to understand it. It makes me very happy seeing so many people who I have read about or used their products...such a good feeling seeing just how many truly do touch our daily lives in one form or other. A great editing job Arthur!!
