Here we are, part three of our sail around the solent!! For those of you, who have been watched last weeks sailing vlog you will know we are a sailing couple who bought a sailing boat with no experience and set sail around the solent! We are loving the boat life, with buying our first sailboat turning into a sailboat project, and now working our way around the famous solent!
We are still learning how to sail our first sailboat, but we are proving that the skills come with building confidence and lots or practice! We've been passage planning, slipping lines, tacking, sailing, motoring and practicing our berthing manoeuvres! This was our sailing goal for the year to do a solo sail (well solo as in just us two) to the Solent. We are still very much learning how to sail a sailboat and in particular a 37ft yacht! This has been one incredible adventure for us as a sailing couple! Stay tuned for the next few episodes, where we show you our sailing videos of our sail around the Solent! Including Lymington Yacht Haven, Cowes Yacht Haven and Chichester Harbour.

Just catching your channel guys, nice solid boat. Just a tip on sail trim in stronger wind. You never want the boom trimmed above the centre line and your mainsail is too full so you need to pull the clew on the main out towards the end of the boom to flatten it and it will de power it. Keep going and may catch you on the water. I sail my Rival 32 out of Chichester Harbour. Andy UK

How easy is the in-mast reefing, and has it proved at all tricky?

Two excellent questions! 😂 Floorboard Wrestling: it’s an ongoing profession, we’ll update you soon on her athletic performance. Weather in England: We promise we do get sunshine, but this is often followed by wind, rain and snow… all in the same day! 😂
