Lol woukdnt that be lovely! I would LOVE it if Molly got those talking buttons! Can you imagine how amazing it would be to hear from a Mira dog?! I believe they would learn to communicate extra fast! I love that Shayla mentioned having notes for the Audio Described version! I'm a live describer and AD writer, and it's very rare that I hear any feedback from viewers. The idea that someone should be grateful that audio description exists at all, is unacceptable. Viewers who want to watch with AD have every right to demand the same level of quality and the same experience as the rest of the movie. Would you expect sighted viewers to be content with seeing obvious mistakes, low quality writing, or a character voiced by text-to-speech? No? Then why would you expect your blind audience to put up with it! Anytime you have remarks on described media, be they positive or negative, don't hesitate to reach out to the respective organizations with your comments!
@@goldenfox91 Molly has mentioned that Lavender and her previous two guide dogs all have been in the bed with her. Not all cuddling but all together to sleep. One morning she couldn’t get out of bed because she was surrounded. I’m just saying, Elton John is going to have to adjust that another animal will sleep on the bed with Molly at night sometimes as Gallop isn’t always there while Lavender will be off doing her own thing.
Given that you've been to "The Dog Bakery" and Elton John loves it, I definitely think you need to do a collab with the youtuber Rocky Kanaka considering he is literally the founder of "The Dog Bakery"
Being a disabled red head with a service dog I agree that those things are not the focal point of my life, but just a part of who I am. I have never seen someone in big movies or shows that I can relate to. I will have to watch one of your movies Shayla!
I remember growing up and watching Life Goes On and that was one of the first shows that I remember having somebody disabled all even though it was maybe mental retardation or whatever he had. The other show that I've noticed that has people that are disabled is Glee. I know not everybody likes musicals and whatever but they have a wheelchair person and they do a whole number with wheelchairs. One of the cheerleaders as again I think somebody that has mental retardation and you find out in Glee that the PE coach's sister was one of those handy capable kids and you kind of find out that she has a soft spot even though to the outside she seems rather abrasive. Even though I grew up in a small town, I actually was in a building and school system with two other people that were handicapable kids.
What a cute get-together you had. It was great to see you in a mentor role with a younger woman - you look so mature (in a good way) and pretty. Happy for both of you finding a new friend.
Who else loves the major panting fest during this serious, riveting discussion?! Pretty positive that's a certain little (big) boy and that he's excited to hear about being represented in the acting industry, lol! This is a great discussion! Nice to hear some true positivity coming out of Hollywood!
Something I really appreciated about getting to see Molly and Shayla interacting is that you can get a good feeling for what Molly is describing when she talks about having to look at and face sighted people when she speaks. Shayla is just vibing, facing wherever she wants, and Molly is facing either the camera or Shayla for most of the video. It's really interesting (to me). Thanks for introducing us, Molly!
Molly goes to an effort to not “look blind” or “act blind.” Sahyla isn’t doing that at all. Which, now that I think about it, actually might make her more appealing to casting people, to play a blind character. She looks good, of course-very pretty, nice manner, quiet confidence. And, you can see immediately that she’s blind. Film and television are visual media. They use visual shortcuts to tell us things about the character; of course they do. That’s the vernacular.
I adore this young woman! Shayla is such a talented actress! i am so excited to watch Women Talking. Thank you to Shayla for sharing your experience, i can only imagine how hard it is to let go of a role you care about and i'm glad you didn't have to let this one go.
OMG I'm Soo happy for Shayla, I was in drama with her last year. I've watched you for years and to see someone I went to high school with in one of your videos is amazing
So as I’m driving down the road listening to your video through my hearing aids, I hear panting and I keep thinking it’s my service dog in the backseat panting! it was actually one of your guide dogs panting in the video.
Thank you for this awesome interview ladies! I also adored seeing the pups meet and play and Libby's sweet playful bows towards Elton John were instant seraronin! Also the way Libby's tail wags in happy circles gives me so much joy! They were ADORABLE playing together!!
Shayla seems just so lovely and it was so nice seeing you two meet and talk about blind representation. And my favourite part was watching the dogs meet and play. They are so cute and funny to watch
Hey Molly, I have been struggling with adhd and anxiety for 5 years now and I cannot believe what you have gone through. Your videos give me strength and light for the world and to keep going. Your videos are so sweet and funny and amazing just like you! I know you are probably not reading this but your strength amazes me and inspires me to keep going. Love you Molly, and also Elton John!

As someone who has been looking forward to women talking for weeks as there’s a lot of Oscar buzz around it, it makes me so happy to hear directors like Sarah Polley and actors like Frances McDormand are so willing to help with accessibility and make this film I was already excited for be that much greater.
I love this video!💝 Molly, I've been watching your RUclips content since about 2016 & you've really helped me "broaden my horizons" so to speak. We need MORE people like Shayla in the entertainment industry showing their authentic self without being told otherwise, just because of what people will think. Libby and Elton John’s play date was so adorable! 💗 And thank you Molly for introducing us to Shayla. It is awesome that she is pursuing an acting career in Hollywood! 💗
I enjoyed this video. When I was born my retinas weren't completely formed. My mother got the Asian flu when sdhe was pregnant with me. I could see quite well growing up. I ended up loosing most of my sight in 1991. When I was a freshman in high school I told my dad I wanted to start taking drama but he didn't think it was a good idea. He said I'd probably fail. I wanted to take four years of high school drama but in order to do that I had to take an extra year of high school so I could get all the required classes in. I got my way. I was told by someone I'd probably fall off the stage. That happened once on my birthday. I hurt my foot but otherwise I was fine. I was in several high school plays and always had minor roles or sang in the chorus for musicals. For my years in drama I received A high school letter and a thesbian letter which was a blue letter T with the comady and tragedy faces. I also received many pins and a trophy for drama. Whenever I go to a play it brings back sweet memories. I've watched several of your videos and I find you so sweet and such a positive person.
I loved this video. And being disabled in the performance industry has come a long way from when I was little and I am so happy with the changes being made we still have a long way to go but we are still making progress. I have multiple disabilities but I started performing before we knew all of them and how they would effect me in the long run. Right now I'm on a dance group and I'm autistic and I'm deaf and I'm a full time wheelchair user and in me dance group we also have someone who is blind and autistic
I love Sarah Polley and will be on the lookout for that movie and Shayla! The pups looked like they need more play dates together! Great video, of course!
Wait… what? She had a role at See? I love that show! I didn’t recognize her. I need to rewatch the episode she’s in. That’s so cool and she seems so lovely

It's pretty dangerous to take a service dog (or even a pet dog) to the dog park. Most service dog schools will recommend against it, because you can't predict the behavior of several strangers' dogs. Unfortunately dog attacks aren't uncommon, and there's no one verifying the dogs' vaccine status. If there were a fenced yard though, I bet these two pups would be a whirl of chaos and fun!
@@kathrynmilesfenton2755 still, Molly can't control if a stranger is there with their dog so she might not go often or only when she knows no one else is there with a dog. Hey Molly I love that I don't need a mirror to do makeup. Because of this I won a Mary Kay party prize for a completion on doing you entire face makeup with the products provided. The first one done won. Weeelllll, the competitor in me went into overdrive. I had it all done in less then 1 minute. It was only powdered samples of blush and eye shadow, mascara, lip stick. I mean come on those don't take long but the sighties with mirrors got hung up on the mascara. I didn't need or use a mirror even though I can see enough to use one but this was a companion. I wasn't losing. Yeah the other people were pissy, I even heard them say it wasn't fair to them that I did it that fast. Oh whatever this was 1 time 1 where the prize went to the person with the best skills in that scenario. Not my fault the host invited a blind woman.
Its so funny how people percieve disabilities and disabled people. My brother has no vision in one eye (Coat´s disease) and yesterday I happened to comment this to a classmate and he was all like "omg, i'm so sorry" "How does he go about life?" "How does he do stuff" and I was like "what do you mean?" He just does it lmao. Like he still has one perfectly functioning eye. Dude drives and everything. I find it interesting that we get this types of comments with my brother who has only lost one eye, I can´t imagine the ones that you guys get who are completely blind. So silly
This is such a hopeful video! The future is slowly getting brighter for everyone. Thank you so much for bringing Shayla on your channel. You had such a good conversation!

Most of it is useless stuff like a card or a toy that I don’t use or something like that so thank you for talking about it 💜💜 I would like prize number 1

No substitute for this vlog
I can totally relate to the scarcity fear I have a really hard time getting rid of anything especially something that I got from my grandparents who passed. Most of it is useless stuff like a card or a toy that I don’t use or something like that so thank you for talking about it 💜💜 I would like prize number 1
