See, the reason Elton's excitement was scaring Lavender is because of the fundamental disconnect in their body language. For cats, a fast-swishing tail means agitation or aggression. For dogs, a fast-swishing tail means happiness and anticipation. So while Elton was trying to say 'hi, new friend!', Lavender was seeing 'I want to rip you apart'.

Elton John was being so respectful, that bow he took is a playful stance that was his way of differing respect to Lavender. It’s not as concerning as you’re thinking. Lavender will adjust because Elton John will win her over 💜

Lavender had her tail up and curled immediately after leaving her carrier. It only swished a little but when she first met Elton. That is a happy, confident kitty!
That’s so nice to have Gallop and Elton together. You can notice that Gallop’s love for you has not changed. He showed everyone with his barks at the store.
Another thing to consider about Elton is that he is so much younger than the other dogs were when they met Lavender. He is still very much a puppy in many ways, so he is going to get much more excited in these situations. Plus you have to consider the way that the stress of the move affected him as well. I am sure that he will settle down really quickly, if he hasn’t already.
I know lots of people told you that blonde was your color, but this ginger/strawberry blonde is definitely it!! It looks so good! And now I want to change my hair to red again 😅
Between Molly's outfit matching the sofa one day and her hair matching the walls another day, seems like an extremely positive vibe going on. Cats are very judgey, but Lavender will settle in just fine. Smart tactical move on the catnip infused scratch board placed near Elton! Wonderful to see the family reunion in the impressive new living quarters. FYI be sure to keep Lavender's grooming and (Greenies) hairball control chews on a regular schedule to forestall the unseasonable arrival of the coughed up hairball😉

My cat really enjoyed watching Elton and Gallup run around against a high contrast light color floor. She even poked at the screen a few times. She might've thought they were birds tho haha. She is mostly deaf and slightly blind so very few things actually catch her attention on screens. Glad all is well in the Burke household!

I was away from my cat for over 2 years, and he is the most loving cat ever. He's been with me now for a year since our separation. He's a little annoyed with me about having to stay in my bedroom (part of the house is off limits due to a safety issue...just until I can get it fixed), but still lays on me quite a bit.....not to mention demanding attention...lol

Gallop was definitely talking to you at the store. I am really happy that all 3 fur babies seem to be getting along. When I first brought my lab home when he was a tiny baby, my sons cat was not happy. She has since accepted that he's not leaving after almost 6 years, but she also has no problem putting him in his place or swiping at him just for her own pleasure.

We recently had to take our dog to a boarding facility for the first time. He did great, but when he came back he had a different bark for about two days. Everyone I've talked to that owns dogs says that they've never seen that happen before, and this is the first time I've seen someone else say it's happened to their dog! I like to imagine it's like when you hang out with friends for a while, and you start to pick up some of their mannerisms and phrases that they say. 😄
It can take cats a long time to adjust to new environments & new “siblings”, so don’t worry too much if your kitty seems unhappy for a while, it just takes time. 😊 sometimes it’s best to keep them limited to a small area until they get comfortable then let them access more of the house a little at a time to help build their confidence. Jackson Galaxy on RUclips has some really good cat advice videos on introducing them to new environments and to other dogs. She seems pretty confident though so probably won’t take long lol. Your little pet family is so cute! Thank you for the great content.
Going to say, my family’s cat still doesn’t fully get along with the “puppy” that has been living there for over two years. And it took over 5 years with the older dog

It's unlikely Molly would keep both dogs, once Gallop was retired. I'm glad Molly's parents will be his guardians.

One of the ways cats communicate to each other that they trust/are comfortable with each other is to kinda ignore each other. Not looking directly, not bothering, just chilling in same space. So often cats will love people or other animals that leave them alone at first, which is why cats seem to love people with cat allergies lol

As a cat mom of 4 I can def say Lavender's tail positions through out the video say shes going to be happy as can be.

One of the ways cats communicate to each other that they trust/are comfortable with each other is to kinda ignore each other. Not looking directly, not bothering, just chilling in same space. So often cats will love people or other animals that leave them alone at first, which is why cats seem to love people with cat allergies lol
