Hey Boomer. Thanks for your reviews. I just got back into hockey after being away from the game for 15 years. I’ve been using an old Graf stick and been looking to upgrade. Based on your reviews and the lack of durability in this year gen, I decided to pick up a Trigger 7pro I found at my local shop. Keep up the good work!
Facts. It's getting to the point where I'm carbon wrapping my helicoid blades as a precautionary measure. Right now you've got a choice between made-of-glass Bauer shafts or flaccid CCM blades. You can see why hockeystickman and the like are doing so well.
i recently buy Trigger 9 Pro week ago.. and will let you know how long it lasted (i got Trigger6 pro - best stick so far and the blade becames soft but honestly after 2-3 years of intensive playing but not even brake or crack..) trigger 8pro still good, no problems so far.. . Good point about grip ribs relasing on "new" models > how pathetic of the marekting dpt of CCM. Next "brand new" model relase will be trigger 10 pro with technology "No-licoid" - the same blade asi Trigger 6 pro and grip without ribs.. :D thanks man for your job! ...going to donate for sure!
After breaking tons of sticks this past summer agents, trigger 8s, ft7s, hyperlight 2s as6s I decided I was done buying expensive sticks and bought 2 pro stock as3 pros on sideline swap for 350 its been 4 months and neither has broken they are just tanks. stick durability has gotten so bad recently it amazes me. not just that but my shot is noticeably better with the older tacks models compared to how my as6 was and my teammates Xf pro
Right now I don’t have a gamer as I haven’t settled on a stick. I have the xf pro which is next release but it’s junk so probably keep that video to like 5 min and move on with life lol I’m going to test tracer, encrypt and qr6 so hopefully I find a gamer
Havent used anything newer than the ghost. Mine lasted two weeks before the blade died. Was out of warranty by the time i got round to using it. Back to the ft6 pro and wasnt the biggest fan of those blades either at the start. Still have a stockpile of t6 pros to fall back on even if i changed from low to hybrid. Dont really want to change brands but may have to give sherwood a go if ccm dont fix their blades soon
Already leaks of ft8, trig10, xf2 show helicoid. So it’s gonna be a long go, vision also has what looks like the ghost blade. I’m in a tracer right now and incredibly impressed and I have a kyc stealth on way from them as a tester which I’m excited about, encrypt is next stick I will buy
@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews I literally just saw about the Kyc stealth (from your good friends at hockey tutorial) they rated it as the best stick of the year although it broke in a net battle. Looking forward to seeing your no bullshit review. Hope it's not too good because import fees are a bastard to the UK lol
@ yeah I’m very happy they reached out to me to send one. I did tell them I am much harder on sticks for reviews and they are happy for the feedback. So really looking forward to reviewing it fully and getting it rated up. I will say despite hockey tutorials bullshit lately I’ve been sent pics of Tommy actually using it in games as opposed to previous sticks he has rated so high so gives me hope they are finally getting their act together
The state of the retail stick market is just brutal now. I don't think I could bring myself to buy anything. I'd be scared to battle for a puck lol. Pretty sure the last top end retail stick I bought was a Jetspeed FT2. I had been using Pro Stock Jetspeed's for a while (FT4-FT6 Pro), but found I actually like the shooting with Triggers a bit more in recent months (Trigger 7 Pro mainly). Even those don't hold up fantastically (I found Jetspeeds held up longer than these few Triggers), the pricing is becoming a bit inflated in the pro stock market as well (still much better), and it can be difficult to find the perfect specs at times. I think I'm firmly using PRO OG Red sticks and not looking back at this point. ~400 grams, beefed up shaft walls, low kick, solid feel, and come with a 64" shaft so I no longer have to mess around with extensions. Can basically get 3 at once shipped for the price of one of these and not feel worried about a simple stick battle or leaning into a shot.
I’m with you. The pro stock market is getting more lucrative for those who want solid sticks but not doing this 450$ thing. I noticed that the new pro stocks are a bit higher priced but I want to see how they perform as the OGs are solid
I have the 7,8 and 9 pro. The blade on the 9 sounds so hollow. Every time I knock a pass out of the air it sounds like it breaks. I broke my first 9 on the shaft blocking a slap shot. Since getting the warranty stick it’s held up. If you want the dual feel blade, which I like, then just get the 8. The only difference I’ve felt is the blade weight which is minimal. Everything else feels the same.
So to this day I think my favorite stick remains to be either the original vapor apx or the original 1x. I prefer a stiffer blade too and on a low kick point stick like a trigger I feel its the best pairing for those quick release shots. I cannot understand why ccm wants to make every single stick feel the exact same. My first experience with that blade was on the ghost and I liked everything about that stick minus the blade. Interested to see what your thoughts are on the tracer when you try it out, at this point in time my next stick will either be a twitch or a tracer I think. Was getting ready to ask you in the comments if you think the vision would have that blade and well you pretty much answered that one so I probably will pass on it.
One of my fav sticks was the apx line as well. The intellisense kick point was excellent. Haha yah the vision will be a 500$ bust with a soft blade breaking. These sticks have all been planned and in production for a year easily. It’s gonna be awhile before ccm fixes this
CCM release the CCM vision stick and it’s $400 USD!! A review would be sick because of the 6 side taper at the top (XF pro) and the ultra low kick point(tigger) and I wonder how it performs because you’re the only honest reviewer
I prefer a stiff blade also. Bauer all the way. I did get a FUTUR stick in their low kick the Star. For the price it blew me away. But it has that softer blade.
I had a blast from futur. Not a good stick at all. Stiff odd flex profile that shot like crap. They didn’t want me to post the review because they sent it to me, so no one will know lol Keep me posted on the futur low kick performance
@ I mostly take snapshots and wristers I can pick corners no problem. Puck feel is good balance is great. I do prefer a stiffer blade though. Bauer brand who’re through and through. The Atlas and Star are the only sticks worth a damn from FUTUR. The sticks are coming out of the same exact factory that makes Bauer and CCMs sticks.
@ I’m questioning that as the blast was extremely cheap feeling, and it’s not a hybrid like a jetspeed not a good stick that was, even if someone used the same factory doesn’t mean much considering Bauer and ccm tech, manufacturing and materials are patented to them. So it might as well be a different factory at that point
I haven’t seen it here yet. The price in Canada is remoured to be 569$ which is absolutely crazy. With a soft blade that could last mere hours it’s a scary combo
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviewsyeah it’s $499 us but they changed up the top grip to mold to the hand similar to the geo grip but feels a little better but the soft blade sucks
Are you sure about that? Kidding. I would love to test your stick I have heard great things. But I am much more critical and honest then others: Feel free to send me an email beerleaguebumhockey@gmail.com
As a person who has a trigger 9 pro the blade f ing sucks and the foam in the blade had broken so the outer layer is the only thing that’s keeping the blade tg thank god I got a Sherwood to play with until my twitch came
Yeah ccms lines with their blades are not good. Anything more durable is from a generation or so ago. Ft5, trigger 6, sync, rekker, qr5, pro, anything from the last year isn’t greatly durable. Sticks seem to do this go in and out. When the big weight drops come to 340-360 it takes a couple generations to lay the carbon and tweak enough that it regains some durability. So we in the cycle where they dropped weight and it’s not durable for now. Probably will be in late 2025
I do near me which is in Vancouver Canada. You need to find large hockey stores that always do very large buys and they usually have a lot of old stuff on clearance. Online isn’t always the best bet because they aren’t always aloud to ship
I recommend sticks I’ve reviewed previously on my old tier lists so you can check out those videos. The 1-2 year old generations right now. I don’t recommend current ccm with helicoid. Bauer twitch, tracer or ok. Sherwood, warrior are solid. True is a no.
Just some advice. If that is a DJI mic you are using, turn on the clipping control. I can hear your audio clipping several times during the video. Other than that, nice video.
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews Clipping control is a setting that will prevent the audio levels from coming in too hot. I know the DJI mic mini has that feature, so if you talk too loud, it will bring down the signal to prevent audio clipping and distortion. However, I don't know about the normal DJI mics. Couldn't find out if they have that setting as well. If they don't, then you should set the gain lower on your mics. You also should adjust your camera settings because the camera could be introducing gain to the signal as well, blowing out the audio. This guy explains it pretty well in this video: ruclips.net/video/sqwn0ayPRR4/видео.htmlsi=cmi88cS8VNpJQUwV Hope that helps.
Would still say that the CCM Trigger 4 Pro and the Jetspeed FT6 Pro are the best sticks ever produced by CCM; not surprisingly, these are sticks that precede the helicoid failure era of cosmic proportions. Have picked up a couple of FT6 Pro sticks online but they're getting increasingly harder to come by.
Agree Anders. Sucks they are getting harder to find. I think ccm has finally caught up with themselves on their releases and they need to get better and slow down
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews Yes, it's quite unfortunate. CCM is going in the wrong direction on the durability of the blades, didn't see that coming .. yet here we are. Have to say that the FT6 Pro is an extremely durable stick, the amount of slappers it can handle it just insane. Great editing in the video Justin, you're getting there!
Gotta check out the qr6 pro by far my favorite stick this year, I’m lucky enough to play on a team that get to try all the latest and greatest and the warrior qr6 is just better then any CCM or bauers I’ve ever used. I was a die hard Jetspeed guy since they came out, the FT3 was my favorite but i couldn’t get them anymore so I went to the FT5, was going to switch to maybe the FT7 until I tried the QR6 pro, it’s 100% going to be my gamer for a while. Bauer sticks all suck in my opinion lol puck feel is good but they go soft so fast and the power is never there compared to CCM and now Warrior.

Sherwood sticks really the last bastion of affordable sticks that don't implode while performing well.
Yes Sherwood for the win!
Wait til you find out about @prostocksticks
