I say that the X block at the beginning is very practical, not just traditional.
I say this because we have the same thing in Kenpo for the reason that you’re working on the muscle memory in that extra hand.
That extra hand is already there to counter an unexpected attack or to execute a second attack following the lead hand.
You’re practicing working on both hands at the same time. It’s much more than just tradition.
@blockmasterscott the option is there in case you feel to use it. That's why we practice. To have many directions🤙🤙🤙. Great input. Thanks for the support
I love this type of video!! There is not enough of this type of breakdown in the martial arts community
@richardbrewer7519 i think every instructor should be breaking down their system to truly understand it better. Thanks for the support, and I completely agree with you🤙🙏

@@tomadams2565 i appreciate you. Did you check out the patreon yet?
Thanks for sharing! With all due respect, what is shown at 4:10 is not a double block at all, it is a catch, followed by arm leverage. This catch is represented in all Chinese styles as a "butterfly" movement. That is, there is no need to modernize anything, it just needs to be applied and explained correctly. Regards.
@kungfuneuquen yes. it is a type of butterfly palm. You can call it a catch, but ultimately it's a block first. You can't just catch a technique. Once you have contact, it is either a block, disengage, or deflection. Should always be some kind of block first. But honestly I think we are just splitting hairs. Thank you again for the support and for watching my channel.
Would be really cool to see what you think of forms from other styles, and how you think you'd use it against someone.
In particular, ITF Taekwondo Tul/Hyung/Kata/Tao Lu
And Okinawan Karate kata (Goju ryu karate for example)
@alpachinko9154 what a great idea! Let me think about this a little and see what I can do. Blessings and light 🙏🤙
Awesome!
@@Zack1440 💪💪💪thank u
Also reminds me of like a cross between Goju Ryu's "Sai Fa/Sai Ha" x "GekkiSai Dai Nii (2)"
@@alpachinko9154 let me check those forms out. 🤙🤙🤙
