    Good stuff! Sounds exactly like my Sifu: “stop trying to hit me and hit me! No I said hit me! Come on hit me!”. I think that’s what I love about Wing Chun and other martial arts that originate in Southern China, they’ve found ways of attack and defense that don’t require some powerful stance and having your feet set exactly perfectly. The moves can be done from pretty much any stance like you demonstrated with both feet together. In a fight, there’s always that chance where you could get caught in an odd stance, misstep etc and still need to stop an attack from hitting.

    Sifu please have Gil to watch his lead leg before and after his strike.( Starting @ 3:56) He locks his right knee. That would be a prime target to end your opponent's attack. Maybe some will say that is being too picky but if a kick was delivered to his locked knee, it would be game over. Bad habits are hard to break. Over come that desire to lock the knee early on is a plus. Thank you both for a great video lesson. God bless you both and have a Merry Christmas.... Jon

    • @phungo9334
      @phungo9334 3 года назад +2

      Hi zae, no, it doesn't really matter the size of the arms because the contact point is pretty much the same area size no matter how big his/her arms are cause your arms was the same. The more important thing is your ability to control the point from your side, not his/her. Hope that helped.

    6:39 - 6:41 I'll be that guy to say it; at this exact second the assistant throws a punch Sifu REALLY WASN'T READY FOR , what you can further tell by the fact he switches from the regular block, to that crane block and you can see he still blocks it, is still on balance, still didn't have to push, ECT a true Mastery moment.
    Plus the fact it was a crane block makes me extra happy cuz I love crane LOL
