I have watched several of your videos now, and must say I am very impressed with your playing, and how well they are recorded.
Your drum tracks never seem to over power everything else in the mix, and the sound is very clean.
Again, very nice. I would love to hear you do a drum cover of "Open Your Heart by Madonna" if you are taking request...lol =D
I really enjoyed the first song, but there was some struggling in the right hand on "Seven Days" on the 4 note grouping. I found that this Steve Hass Moeller video really helped me with playing groupings of 4's and 3's in one hand.
Copying Vinnie's fills is ok, but I'd rather hear your own ideas. Vinnie himself was improvising when playing this, you should improvise too! Nice drumming.
You're fantastic and your playing was flawless. Rather than just praising your drum skills may I please tell you what a great MUSICIAN you are? That's something you truly are but rarely get called and that is a disgrace. You are making great music. Bless you and thank you for these videos.
Love the video and music selection. Is there any chance you could change the camera angle. You hands, specifically your right hand, has amazing technique and in this video it is largely hidden by the splash while you are on the ride. Thanks!!
I wonder if you'll be able to keep that tight timing for a real jam? Perhaps you're playing tight because you know the song and your body is responding.
A lot of drummers (so called) can't keep the beat when playing live. Don't know why.
But you rock!
Love Stronger than Justice is in 7/4 with a chorus that is 4/4 :-)
Listen to where Sting's phrases start and stop- its not that hard to hear.

Been following you for a few months now. My 3 year old daughter loves your playing (so does drummer Dad). This was one of my favorite albumns in the 90's and here you are playing it. Peanut butter, meet chocolate! Great to see new work by you. Keep it up!!

@005freedom it's not actually just for show, it's for getting the right sound when playing rim-knocks :) You might notice she switches according to the feel of the music.
for heavens shake in the second part she acts like a super accurate clock between words and beats. This is above groovy, its , its.....no words to describe.
yes it is. doesn't change through out the song. Vinnie Colaiuta does an amazing job of shaping the fills and playing some really tasteful grooves in that song.
Oh, by the way: OddMeeter must of picked up something I didn't; you're playing was nearly perfect as far as I could tell. And you look like you're having way more fun than vinnie ever looks like....

love it. nice work. I remember learning St. Augustine in Hell when Vinnie played for Sting. I love the 7 time with the bell being on the off beat every other measure.
