WOW! TOTALLY IN THE GROOVE MAN(MAM) That Lady knows how to play the drums. How can you put thumbs down on this video. Excellent use of Sabian cymbals and Sonor drums Duel hi hats and 2 snares Tight! And she is having fun! All I am going to say Ms Caplette Well done! Never heard of you till now. And that was because I was checking out the Sabian HH King Ride 24 inch Big and Ugly cymbal which I just purchased. Bravo! You ROCK!

It's okay man you're right. You can see in her well applied technique and phrasing that she has strong jazz influence. Very solid rudiments and control.

Emmanuelle is wonderful, brilliant !! Especially love that part at 2:27! That heavy beat with these little snare fills/rolls in between.. sounds awesome! I play drums too, but I couldn't play that so crispy and precise. You need a brutal hand technique!

I'd say Blackman is more of a jazz drummer, and I think I've only seen like... one video of Emmanuelle playing straight-ahead jazz, so it's hard to compare them. The drummer she reminds me the most of, would actually be Dave Weckl, and I have to say that I prefer Emmanuelle ... mostly because she doesn't play that corny ass music that Dave tends to play.

yyz are easy for pro, its fun to play, great rock beat but EASY for pro drummer. i like to sing in my car. but...... i'm not pavarotti. you can love meytal no problem. i like to see meytal playing drum. far better then me. but not a pro for me . a lot of boys drum way better. and no one talk about...... weird ?
way more difficult? WRONG! and not impossible to tell who the better drummer is. Maytal is sexy and a very good drummer, but her chops arent there yet. any drummer can see this girl has marching experience and has the chops of an expert. Just keep practicing your bass and youtube "bass chicks" and stick with what you know.
I was intrigued by your comment and went and looked at the available Cindy Blackman's Videos, and seriously???. She has an amazing talent, but no taste in Solos, no touch, a talent without brains to put it short.
Emmanuelle has everything, one of the best techniques i've ever seen (man or woman), amazing taste, much more refined, and waaaaay cutter.

I hate the song - but fantastic drumming! The more I see Emmanuelle play, the more I really think she is a fabulous player! Makes me laugh a little when you see comments about her being a great girl drummer or something like that! She can play - doesn't matter if she is female or not! This girl is well schooled in the art of drumming! Also, have you seen anybody else who seems to enjoy playing more than her? Always smiling and really digging what she's doing! Love it! Go Emmanuelle!

Who cares who's better. It seems that Emmanuele has better hand technique or just she uses 16th patterns more than Meytal, but Meytal plays and likes other music style and music style has it's own bounds of playing so any comparisons who's better is simply not objective. And why not love both?
I wish we could put these two sissies who are enough courageous to play with Emmanuelle. I bet that if they practice during their whole lives, they wouldn´t do even the half that she can. Where do such animals come from??

I don't know a bit about drums , but i've watched a lot of drum solos on youtube.
This thing right here is very different , it made me stuck on this clip and i am watching it over and over again. Its like flowing music or something. Hypnotic stuff.
Wow, this is awesome! I'm a bass player who tries to play drums for my own stuff but the biggest problem I run into is not speeding up while playing through a song. What do you guys usually do, practice to a metronome or something?
She's hardly bad; she's just playing simple rock and metal. I'm not saying she's amazing, she's not, but she's solid and plays the stuff she plays well. But who cares? We should be encouraging female drummers, not bashing them. There's not enough around.
? ok, so..... what your point ? what experience you have on drum ? cause is easy to see how manu is way better. i dont want to argue with you, just explain the fact. manu is pro, meytal is cute girl with drum. and is ok to be cute girl on drum.
great technique and really fast hands, solid time etc. you should learn cooler and better sounding fills though. You play the gospel-kinda-fills here, only that its the super-white-version of them:)

plus she sounds stiff when she plays a song that's out of her comfort zone, while Emmanuelle has shown to be a very versatile and groovy drummer. Why are people even comparing THEM anyways??

if you claim playing tool covers is easy, as meytal does, then you must be one hell of a drummer. Discussions bout "x is better than y" are just plain stupid, both meytal and emmanuelle are great
try out a low setup mate. Ive never gone back after trying it. Im a lanky guy so it allows me to get over it and get alot of power when i need too. Check out benny grebs setup, that is really low!
I will say nothing about her serious Skills and Musicality because that's totally understood long ago. I will focus on her smile and hair. :3. Emmanuelle la más bonita!

Ughhhhh...your playing is SO clean it's redic'!!! That double high hat and snare part (you play more than once) @2:02 is killer! It kinda feels an sounds like a paradiddle diddle rhythm!? Either way...still Awesome!

Who composed the drum parts for the album? Also, are you just drumming live with the band or did you also record these tracks in studio (in which case, why didn't Damien do that?)

Nice homage to Damien. She plays in his band too and I can't imagine how intimidating that must have been as he's pretty bad ass on drums too. But we do love Emma though.
@lTheInfamouSl Nope, no triplets in the fills: they all feel like 16ths with flamadiddles and three-note groupings (2:25 for example) thrown in. 1:59 is a masterpiece.
It is very common to have a side snare on the left. Some have even 2 or 3 snares on there left side! Sometimes drummers have one on their right, that IS interesting!
